With Bitcoin pioneer Roger Vere handing over tax-related claims to the US, the associates are in the spotlight on his anonymous charity, from disaster relief to empowering underserved communities.
Beacon of generosity: Supporters highlight Roger Ver’s global charity legacy
Roger Ver, a cryptocurrency advocate, also known as “Bitcoin yes,” faces a potential 100-year sentence if convicted of US charges that include tax fraud and false tax returns related to waiver of citizenship in 2014. The fight against extradition from Spain is now vehemently denying the allegations as unconstitutional and politically motivated. His legal team further alleges that the US government inappropriately accessed communications between privileged lawyers and clients.
Testimony emerged from beneficiaries of Ver’s generosity amid the legal dispute. In a candid video, Dan Akston of Crypto Show explained how he contributed to the disaster relief efforts of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Maria in Florida, and helped with the earthquake in Puebla, Mexico. In 2021, he pledged $100,000 to a nonprofit school in Antigua, bumping into the disastrous effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In Nigeria, Ver contributed to technical education for underserved youth. “Without his support, this would not have been possible,” said Zunnureini Usman of High-Tech Innovation Hub Nigeria. Ver’s aid has also been extended to personal crisis. B Team Jiu Jitsu Team Ethan Crelinston said he fully funded ACL surgery without seeking recognition.

Zahara Idries discussed her support for the Women’s Technology Empowerment Program for Women Engineers. Idries noted that the Ver backing allowed them to train hundreds of career skills. At Antigua, Ver anonymously donated laptops, mobile phones, funding the largest Christmas gift drive in the region’s history, which was later revealed by local organizers.
Legal challenges do not block Ver’s advocacy. After Nevada men and liberty advocates faced the law in 2015, Ver provided modest financial aid. Similarly, he helped the widow who scam her savings and covered the education of her children after her husband’s death. “He didn’t need to do this. It was a pure heart,” she explained.
Just as Ver’s extradition hearing was looming, the allies continued to advocate for his release, framing his case as indeed injustice. For those he supported, Ver’s legacy has already solidified in life. Amidst the bulging of support, diverse supporters, Liberty champions and cryptocurrency supporters continue to push President Donald Trump and give him the full pardon of Roger Ver.
