The 19-year-old pleaded guilty on Wednesday to conspiring with the group to steal another teenager by seducing him into a fake crypto deal in Singapore. The attempted robbery was reportedly planned using the messaging app Telegram and is targeting buyers of Stablecoin Tether.
According to a court statement released Thursday, defendant Bai Chunji met one of his conspirators, 30-year-old Benedict Yi Hong Phye, through a mutual friend. telegram Last August. The defendant admitted that he planned to seduce the victim with a fake transaction and steal the money he brought for the expected purchase.

Neither of them were informed that the plan had anything to do with the robbery, but they were instructed to physically confront the victim and withdraw money from him once the act was carried out.

Also present was Yu Hongfei, another co-conspirator who had not contacted Zheng but was believed to be part of the original plot. Witness accounts placed Yu at the crime scene and tried to seize a bag containing cash, and did not repeatedly do so during the fuss.
In the brawl, Zheng fled the attacker and ran out of the scene by jumping into a passing civilian vehicle. He ran away with his bag and money.
The court will find that if you come later, you commit a crime and have committed a crime.
Local Singapore press reported that Bai and Yu had met by August 2024 through mutual friends on Telegram. With debate over how to “make a living,” the two perpetrators came up with a plan to use fake encryption to steal buyers on social media.
Bai Chunjie pleaded guilty to one count of attempted robbery involving The Murt, a serious crime under Singapore law. He is expected to be sentenced at a later date.
