Elon Musk’s Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is digging into federal employees whose net worth doesn’t match their salary. The office, created by President Donald Trump, tracks down government workers who have made hundreds of thousands of dollars, but somehow sit in tens of millions of dollars.
“I think it’s pretty odd that even though I have a salary of hundreds of thousands of dollars among the bureaucrats, I somehow managed to get tens of millions of dollars of net worth,” Elon said today. “We’re curious to see where it came from.”
Federal agencies were forced to work with Elon
According to a White House fact sheet released today, Trump has ordered federal agencies to work with Doge to work with him. The plan limits the hiring of one new employee for every four leaving, with the exception of law enforcement, national security, immigration and public safety.
As you can see in the video above, Elon has appeared in the ovals in a rare form alongside the self-proclaimed best buddy cards to defend Doge’s strategy. His approach was, of course, to deploy young investigators across federal agencies, combing through pay systems, tracking employee assets, and dumping the entire office if necessary.
Trump said Doge has already discovered “billions and billions of dollars of waste, fraud and abuse.” Although no direct evidence was provided, Elon argued that the Treasury system lacked basic protection measures to stop payments to prohibited entities.
“It’s like a bunch of blank checks just pop out of the building,” Elon told reporters. The eccentric billionaires also list cases of fraud on X, exposing major inefficiencies in federal spending. He admitted that some of his claims could be wrong, but said that if that was true, they should be fact-checked and revised. “Believe me, I hope I’m wrong. I want to prove that the scale of corruption I discovered is inaccurate,” Elon said.
Federal workers face an uncertain future
Trump has vowed to promote Doge’s discoveries through Congress when necessary. He also accused federal judges of obstructing some of his government’s overhaul efforts, but he said he would “follow the court.”

Meanwhile, a federal judge in Rhode Island ruled that the White House had not fully complied with the order to release billions of federal grants.
For employees who resist buying plans, the situation is uncertain. With government-enhanced regulations, federal workers can receive a salary of up to one year of retirement, depending on their age and year of age. Some workers may be reassigned, but others may be fired soon, Elon told reporters.
The newly appointed Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent is stuck on Elon’s side and fully agrees with everything he is doing, and all duties of Citadel founder Doge Ken Griffin and the Treasury Department. swipes Trump’s trade policy, slid Elon’s efforts to curb government waste, saying it was in alignment.
“He’s going to do what he needs to do to win,” Griffin said of Elon at the UBS Financial Services Conference in Miami today. “Thank you for making sure my taxes are being spent effectively from my heart.”
Elon’s offensive tactics aren’t surprising. He has a long history of cutting work quickly without warning, and this man calls himself an “efficient freak.” At Tesla, Elon fired 9% of the workforce in 2018, and in 2023, an email was sent at 2am. When he took over Twitter (now X) in 2022, Elon fired 80% of his staff.
