The incident occurred at Rue Pache around 8:20am on the 11th Allendiscentment. There, a 34-year-old woman walking with her two-year-old child approaches three masked men who attempt to force her into a van disguised as a chronopost delivery vehicle.
She was later identified as the daughter of the CEO of a major crypto purchasing platform.
The attacker’s plan was hampered when the child’s father intervened and physically confronted the attacker. Despite being beaten, he was able to prevent abduction.
During the conflict, one of the attackers dropped a handgun. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the weapon is a real or replica. The man escaped from the scene in the same van.
Several bystanders witnessed the attack and heard the woman screaming, but none intervened, the report said.
It was later discovered that the van was abandoned on a nearby street. Both the woman and her child were unharmed, but visibly shaking.
The Paris Prosecutor’s Office assigned the brigade of the Thief Du (anti-Banditory Brigade) to lead the investigation, including whether the motivation was financially driven by its family relationship with the crypto industry.
This incident adds to the awkward trend of crypto-related temptations and terror attempts worldwide. A recent French case study shows a sharp rise in physical violence targeting digital asset owners.

They face accusations of robbery, lures and terror, and the investigation points to a possible fourth accomplice.
