Zksync’s official X (formerly Twitter) account has been temporarily breached to promote fake ZK token airdrops.
The fraudulent post claimed that all followers were entitled to claim shares of their first token supply. Users were directed at a suspicious link called “Distribution-Zksync.io.”
The post remained live for about 15 minutes before it was deleted. At present, Zksync has not issued an official statement confirming violations.
Despite the hack, it does not have a major impact on the price of ZK tokens. However, if user trust is eroded, further fallouts could occur.
Security experts warn users to stay cautious and avoid interacting with unconfirmed links related to token distribution.
The incident highlights an increasing frequency of social media violations targeting major crypto projects.
This is a developing story.
