The Layer-2 blockchain Zksync’s managed wallet was compromised on Tuesday, with hackers taking off with $5 million worth of ZK tokens.
The stolen funds were “unclaimed tokens from Zksync Airdrop,” Zksync said after writing on Twitter that “necessary security measures are in place.”
The protocol’s ZK tokens have dropped by almost 14% over the past 24 hours. During the same period, volume rose 96% to $71 million.
Zksync said the attack was an isolated incident and was limited to token airdrop contracts.
