Every day, the Ripple vs. SEC case continues to dominate conversations on Crypto Twitter. This is not because of a confirmed update, but because of a steady stream of rumors, speculation and fake news. Although actual legal procedures move at a cautious, measured pace, social media has transformed the incident into a battlefield of prediction and wishful thinking.
Latest rumors: Settlement until August 15th?
The latest rumors claim that by August 15, 2025 there is a 70-90% chance of a settlement between Ripple and the SEC. Supporters believe that Judge Anasatores’ previous ruling makes it difficult for the SEC to move forward. According to this version of the event, all that remains is the SEC final status report.
Understand the actual process behind termination
Former SEC lawyer Marc Fagel stepped in to get rid of the air and explained how things actually work behind the scenes of the SEC.
After Judge Torres’ June 26th ruling, the SEC will need time to prepare its enforcement recommendations. According to Fagel, this process usually takes 1-2 months. Once ready, the recommendation will be sent to the SEC committee.
The 50 million dollar penalty and no injunction is 0%. The court has already settled it. sorry.

He also clarified important details. A commissioner’s vote is required to reject a pending case, but will not close any investigations that have not led to the case filed.
There is no deadline. Just update status
There are no tight deadlines for Ripple or the SEC to dismiss their appeal. However, both parties must submit status updates to the court by around August 15th. If you agree to resolve or terminate the appeal, it will be made public. The SEC may also issue public announcements, but that is not guaranteed.
When will it happen? That’s still just speculation
When will a dismissal or settlement actually occur? Fagel clearly says: “It’s all speculation.” It could happen in the coming weeks or take some time. It depends entirely on how quickly the SEC internal processes move.
He emphasized that the ripple cases did not face an unusual delay. There are no plots, no cover-ups, no ordinary events.
