Trezor aims to introduce maximum extractable value (MEV) protection in Trezor Suite, reducing user operational transaction practices across several supported networks.
Trezor works with Merkle.io to shield sweet transactions from MEV bots
Trezor, a hardware wallet brand under Satoshilabs, said the feature is integrated directly into the desktop app, routes transactions through private channels to suppress front rotation and similar tactics. The company told Bitcoin.com News that the protection applies to Ethereum, BNB chains and bases and is designed to improve reliability when sending, exchanging or trading assets.
According to Trezor’s announcement, implementations work automatically within normal transaction flows. By obscuring pending transactions from opportunistic bots, the tool attempts to lower slippage during swap, reduce failed transactions and provide more predictable results.
Merkle.io will provide the infrastructure underlying its private routing components, the company said. Trezor has assembled the addition as part of a continuous push to continue to improve practical security within the software without the need for additional setup from users.
Lauri Hänninen, Trezor’s product marketing lead, told Newsdesk that the company aims to provide “more confidence and control” to its customers when moving funds through Trezor Suite. The company said the protection targets target exploitative order flow behaviors commonly associated with public memory MEVs.
The company positioned the release as a continuation of its 2013 mission to use open source tools to promote independence. Trezor also noted that the company has expanded its lineup in both hardware and software products in recent years, along with educational initiatives such as the Trezor Academy.
Trezor said MEV protection is available immediately within the Trezor Suite. The company did not disclose whether additional networks were planned or whether the routing options were configurable in future versions. In particular, it cites protection against frontrunning and sandwich attacks while maintaining network suite workflow and pricing choices.
