A scam email from Coinbase encourages recipients to check their account details or limit access to cryptocurrency transmissions, sales, and transfers.
Susbarium added that this is a scam designed to steal personal information, and apart from its ultimate goal of stealing user funds. In light of this, Susbarium has outlined some security tips for crypto users. First, do not click on the link or download email attachments. Shiba Inu owners will be urged to never provide account credentials or recovery phrases. Finally, you should report and delete the email immediately.
With the current rise in phishing scams, Shiba Inu owners are constantly being encouraged to confirm suspicious communications by logging directly into the official Coinbase website or app. You also need to share warnings with other users to protect your community and allow for additional protection for your account, such as two-factor authentication.
Shiba Inu community urged people to stay vigilant
The X account focused on Shiba INU also warned the SHIB community about the increasing number of spoofed accounts, pose as representatives of official SHIBA INU, about tactics used to mislead holders, forge links and steal personal information.
Susbarium also warned the Shiba Inu community to be careful of fake airdrop scams. This is because scammers are sending emails and messages claiming they will offer free token airdrops. These fraudulent offers often risk your funds by asking you to verify your account or provide wallet details.
As an important warning, Shiba Inu holders should avoid suspicious links and do not click on random links even if they look realistic. Also, protect your wallet and do not share any private keys or seed phrases.
