SMS phishing is a fraudulent action aimed at using SMS text messages with the aim of stealing sensitive customer information (such as wallet private keys and login passwords) or giving up on cryptocurrency assets. Phishing attackers often seduce unsuspecting victims by legal entities, including exchanges and wallet service providers.
In light of this, MEXC reminds the Crypto community not to send a link via SMS, but also to request that users send either or to request that users click, call, or answer unknown numbers. Additionally, users should always check the information via official channels.
Safety measures
Other security measures that cryptographic users can take include protecting private keys and passwords. They should note that legitimate service providers do not require private keys or passwords via SMS.
The second is to enable two-factor authentication (2FA). This provides an additional layer of security for your account and prevents unauthorized access.
Third, cryptographic users should be aware of unknown numbers and do not respond to SMS messages from unfamiliar numbers. Please avoid calling the phone number listed in the message.
The last security tip is to check your domain. Users should carefully check that the domain of the SMS link corresponds to the official domain.
