House Republicans are planning to submit the latest texts on the Cryptocurrency Market Structure Bill today.
According to information obtained by American Crypto, the bill’s text will be introduced in the “Pro Forma” session, a short-term procedural session held during the home’s break.
These sessions do not usually involve legislative activities, but can be used to formally introduce the bill when lawmakers are outside of Washington.
The updated text follows a draft bill shared earlier this month, including French Hill, chairman of the Financial Services Commission, GT Thompson, chairman of the Agriculture Commission, Brian Steel, chairman of the Digital Assets Subcommittee, and chairman of the Agriculture Commission.
The bill is expected to set up a fundamental framework for regulating and trading the US digital asset market, representing the next step in a comprehensive regulatory effort by the White House and Republicans. The bill aims to regulate the US $3.4 trillion cryptocurrency industry and set clear rules at the federal level.
The House Financial Services Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on June 4th on an updated text titled “The Future of America’s Innovation and the Digital Assets: From Blueprints to Operational Frameworks.” A hearing is planned for June 10th to consider various bills, but it is not yet clear whether the bill will be included in the process.
The House of Representatives move aims to vote and send to the House as the Senate prepares to amend the Genius Act, a bipartisan stubcoin bill.
Speaking at the annual Bitcoin Conference held in Las Vegas this week, Brian Steele and Tom Emmer expressed their hope that both bills could advance in the time window before President Trump’s August break. Steil said if both bills are passed, it would lead the US “golden age of digital assets.”
