Hacking incidents continue one after another. This time, the target of hackers was Turknet, one of the most popular internet service providers.
The hackers claimed that a cyber attack on Turknet resulted in obtaining some of the customers’ names, last names, phone numbers, subscription numbers, identification information, addresses and static IP information.
The hacker also said that if Turknet does not send three Bitcoins (BTC) within the specified time, it will leak the entire database.
Turknet officials confirmed the hack attack and issued the following statement on the subject:
“For the general information,
As Turknet, since the day we were founded, we have considered trust, transparency, accountability and corporate governance as our top priorities. Within the framework of these principles, we present this statement to the public as a requirement of our responsibility.
A similar cyberattack against Turknet was detected on March 11, 2025, within the range of increased cyberattacks worldwide and in Türkiye.
First, I would like to state that there are no interruptions or issues with the service.
The attack does not include your financial information or Turknet user passwords, and this information is end-to-end secure.
Our work was carried out in conjunction with relevant public agencies to identify the person responsible for all these initiatives and to commence the necessary legal processes, providing necessary violation notifications to personal data protection agencies and information technology and communications agencies.
Currently, all additional measures are meticulously enabled, allowing you to safely use your online transaction center and mobile applications with your existing password.
By communicating directly with customers affected by this incident, we continue to transparently manage the entire process.
We will continue to maintain cybersecurity at the highest level and provide our customers with uninterrupted, reliable service. ”
