A friend is trying to set up a publicly available test mining pool.
My current ISP is Verizon Wireless Home Internet. I’m pretty annoyed with them. You can easily see them delivering dynamic IPv6 in my house. But they want to charge me an extra fee each Static IPv6 address!
I am trying to establish a service that is accessible to the outside world. Static IPv6 addresses do not work as they change the IPv6 prefix every time the router restarts. The server reassigns the new address.
Am I completely dependent on my ISP for this? Can I establish/maintain a static IPv6 address? Is it the problem of getting other hardware/software?
My wireless router is the ARC-XCI55AX (standard “white cube”). I’m in Oakland, USA.
