The Shiba Inu team has revealed important security upgrades to Shibarium that enhance decentralization and remove single points of failure that can impact stability.
According to Shibarium, an upgrade of the Shibarium RPC migration network is currently underway in a Shibarium-specific account.

This upgrade includes legacy endpoint closures, which will deprecate Shibarium’s old public RPC connections within two weeks, ending access through the old URL. The move is expected to help strengthen a stronger, more distributed network built for long-term reliability.
In September, Shibarium experienced a major security incident that resulted in its network being shut down to prevent data corruption. This issue was caused by a compromised validator key, not a flaw in the chain itself. This is because the attacker used short-term stake amplification (via 4.6 million BONE delegations) to cross the threshold and attempt malicious control.
After a comprehensive review and a series of security enhancements, Plasma Bridge has been restored for BONE, allowing users to once again bridge BONE between Ethereum and Sybarium. New safeguards have been added, including a blacklist to block malicious addresses and a 7-day withdrawal delay (finalization period).
Shiba Inu closes his first Red October
Shiba Inu posted its first monthly loss since its launch in October, ending a winning streak that was known among crypto traders as “Uptober.”
In recent weeks, the overall crypto market has struggled amid market turmoil and a softening of investors’ risk appetite, with Shiba Inu ending October down 15.9%.
Trade tensions led to the largest cryptocurrency liquidation in history in October, and a flash crash on October 10 saw Shiba Inu fall to a low of $0.0000085.
At the time of writing, SHIB has risen 2.29% in the past 24 hours to $0.00001013 as most crypto assets traded in the green at the beginning of November.
