Ripple CTO David Schwartz issued a fraud warning and warned the crypto community of ongoing attempts at fraud targeting XRP holders and cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
Schwartz recently posted some comments on X, where an unauthorized individual responded under his post, attempting to lure users into a fake telegram group and asked them to click on the links found on X Bio.

Scammers use the community’s trust and the promise of interest to deceive unsuspecting users to raise legitimate people.
Schwartz flagged the scam with two separate instances, highlighting that the malicious actor repeatedly tried to spread the same scheme under different disguises.
Issued warning
This is not the first time a scammer has targeted crypto holders, especially in the XRP community. Ripple’s growing popularity and growing interest in the XRP ecosystem has led to an increase in attempts to fraud, particularly through legal personality and group impersonation.
Schwartz has previously flagged some of these scam attempts and has never missed an opportunity to highlight the unfair measures exploited by these bad actors.
Earlier this year, Ripple warned of an increase in fraud in the crypto market. Ripple warned the Crypto community that it would never be required to send XRP — neither did Ripple executives or other Ripple employees.
Xaman, head of XRPL wallets, also issued a warning about scammers pretending to be Xaman support. I learned that the only official support is available through the Xaman Support Xapp within the Xaman app, and that the Xaman team will never send a message on social media first.
In light of this, Crypto Holders is urged to avoid clicking suspicious links and to always check your account before getting engaged.
