Officials from Pakistan’s counterterrorism division have been remanded for his alleged role of stealing $340,000 worth of tethers (USDT) from a lured crypto trader.
Trader Mohammad Alsaran Malik claims he met various buyers after an individual called Hamid repeatedly asked him to buy dollars from him.
Malik said that two individuals demanded $30,000 and the person who called Ashar told him he would drop out of his payment.
Pakistani media reports that the three were waiting for Ashar at the restaurant. He reportedly arrived at 1am, followed by a license plateless police van and many mediocre police officers after 40 minutes.
These officers are said to have advanced to acquiring Malik, taking him elsewhere and forcing him to transfer $340,000 in USDT from his Binance account.
His temptation then reset his phone and dropped him near the spirit us.

The head of investigating the anti-terrorism court hearing yesterday said $220,000 had been recovered in the form of code, cash, luxury cars and prize money.
Two counterterrorism department officials and sergeant Aliraza were one of nine suspects, eight of whom were arrested. Raza is reportedly a major suspect and was remanded for seven days yesterday by an anti-terrorist court judge.
