The NFT project Mars Cat Voyage has secured a partnership with the Web3 gaming platform Nifty Island to launch a fishing competition for community members. The prizes to be won in this quest include NFTs, pearls, tokens, and the fish caught.
According to a tweet from Nifty Island, the players with the biggest fish will win huge prizes and earn points to climb the leaderboard. Mars Cat Voyage will release the fish in Nifty Island’s waters. Nifty Island noted that the game also includes new fish from a far-off feline island.
The new fishing quest went live on October 6 and will end on October 13. The islands involved include Doby Mick, Hidden Oasis, and Fishin’ Hole. The fish types released into the waters include Swim Shady, Demonfish, and Gold Demonfish. Each fish type comes with a different number of points; players earn more points by catching the heaviest fish of each type. These points are added to their final quest point total, determining the winners at the end of the competition.
Mars Cat Voyage initially released the Demonfish in Nifty waters in mid-September as part of a different quest. For two weeks, from September 21, players could catch the Demonfish for several prizes, including a 2% chance at catching a Gold Demonfish. While only 45 Gold Demonfishes will ever exist, Mars Cat Voyage decided to lock the Demonfish supply forever after the game.
The NFT project tagged the game as a head start for official quests. Hence, players who participated in the pursuit for Demonfishes last month have a higher chance of catching Gold Demonfishes in the ongoing competition.
Nifty Island’s latest quest was released a month after the platform upgraded its marketplace to simplify NFT creation and collection for users. The marketplace introduced pearls to make NFT purchasing easier; users require no cryptocurrencies or wallets.
Creators now earn their revenue in pearls and can cash out to ISLAND at any time. ISLAND is the native token of Nifty Island. The asset, launched in December, went live on the Base network last month. The gaming platform said creators can earn more rewards by competing on the creator leaderboard. Becoming top creators by pearl revenue will give users access to larger ISLAND prizes.
With the introduction of pearls in the Nifty ecosystem, the platform is bound to launch new and more exciting games. You should stay tuned for more updates to avoid missing out on activities that could fetch some pearls.
