Metaplanet will increase Bitcoin holdings with $13.5 million purchases and bond issuance

Japanese hotel company Metaplanet (3350) acquired 162 Bitcoin (BTC) for $13.5 million with an average price of $83,123 per Bitcoin, reaching an annual Bitcoin yield of 53.2%.

BTC yields represent the rate of change in the ratio of Bitcoin Holding to fully diluted stocks issued over a given period. As of March 12, Metaplanet holds 3,050 BTC of $253.7 million, with an average acquisition price of $83,180 per Bitcoin.

Additionally, the company issued 2 billion yen ($13.5 million) of interest ordinary bonds to fund its Bitcoin acquisition. At the time of writing, Metaplanet’s stock was trading at 3,630 yen, down 50% from its February history high.
