As far as I know, Electrum uses a unique seed phrase system that the developers believe is better than the BIP39 system used by many other wallets.
I believe Electrum has some compatibility features that need to be specifically enabled. Most users probably won’t do that unless they anticipate the need.

Although it’s relatively easy to implement (as you may have noticed, Sparrow already supports the Electrum seed format internally), I’ve been holding off on implementing it for the following reasons:
- There are two seed lists to choose from, which can be confusing
- I’m not sure it’s a good idea to continue supporting isolated “standards” like this
