As I reported in other questions, I have the problem with my Bitcoin QT crashing at random times (Bitcoin QT ends in an hour without any big fanfare). I hope that I can keep up with the blockchain as things have improved after installing V29.0.0 (this is 3.5 years ago.) To make things faster, I checked the Cron script if Bitcoin-QT died and tried to restart in that case. But Ubuntu is throwing curveballs at me. Starting this QT application from a Cron script is not easy! I am getting the following error:
qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may f>
Available platform plugins are: minimal, xcb.
I set the display variable in the Cron file and confirmed it was set when Bitcoin QT is running. I’m running out of Linux-Steam and hope there’s more someone out there. Cheers, Merlin
