I would really appreciate any expert guidance on a small project I would like to start. The idea is to be able to (1) calculate on-chain metrics such as the realized price of Bitcoin and (2) publish them to a dashboard. Therefore, the first step is to be able to fetch data on the blockchain either live (at the end of each block) or at a fixed frequency (every 4 hours), and historically.
I’m guessing you’re looking for guidance on whether you need Bitcoin Core or whether you can piggyback on a block explorer. Or do you need to run code on a server to get the data live, or is your local machine sufficient? I’m a complete beginner, but I have some knowledge of Python (and VBA too!), but would like to learn C+ or whatever language I need.
Thank you for your advice!
