Galaxy Digital UK, a subsidiary of Mike Novogratz-led Digital Asset Financial Services Firm’s license application to carry out derivative transactions in the UK, is approved by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
According to a statement on Wednesday, the company’s investment banking division will use Galaxy Digital UK’s FCA permit to provide capital raising and investment banking services. Galaxy UK subsidiary also supports asset management business through fund distribution activities.
Galaxy Digital UK is registered on the FCA investment company register. This is for businesses that are authorized to run Mifid Investment Services or Activity. Galaxy also joined the FCA Crypto Register in 2021.
“London is a key financial hub and this approval will allow us to deepen our UK presence and work with our mission to fill our digital assets ecosystem with traditional funds.”
The UK has attracted crypto companies such as Coinbase and Bitpanda, and has recently allocated slots to the crypto registers for BlackRock.
