Former maintainer of Monero Ricardo Spagni, known as Fluffypony in Crypto Surcles, warns about the collapse of your customer (KYC) strategy with the hands of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. In X, Spagni evaluated the KYC procedure still in use as in the middle, and declared within the next 24 months that “there is a completely hingless open source model with no protection and can create fake KYCs with consistent details/images.” Spagni then passed the mandatory KYC procedure by displaying two sets of images and personal photos created by AI holding fake documents. “It’s not perfect and oddly inconsistent, but it’s getting there!” he concluded.
