The Faze Banks Crypto Pump-and-Dump controversy is getting heated again. On Wednesday, July 31st, Ricky Bengston, also known as Faze Banks, appeared to be putting pressure on the MLG team to give priority treatment.
The message shows Faze Banks, along with influencer Aydin Ross and another investor, are asking them to buy a ton of tokens at the counter. He also explicitly stated that he was not interested in buying at current market prices and was looking for a special discount instead. After the founder refused, he threatened to stop promoting the token.

The text also revealed that Faze wants to hold 0.6% of the supply of tokens and accumulate at least 1%. This contradicts his previous official statement that MLG is a passion project and has not received compensation from the team.
The obvious intention of Faze Banks was to buy a large number of tokens without moving through the market. This strategy coincides with the classic “pump and dump” scheme, suggesting that Faze Banks intended to pull the rug on his followers.

MLG Token Dumps cost users up to $150 million
The controversy comes from the promotion of Faze Banks’ 360 Noscope 420 Blazeit (MLG) Memecoin in October 2024. His tweets surged to a market capitalization of more than $150 million, before collapsed to just $10 million.
Based on gaming culture, MLG Memecoin partners with influencers such as Faze Banks and Aydin Ross. Both are popular with gamers. Memecoin appealed specifically to viewers. They viewed it as a nod to the nostalgia of the game. On July 28th, following public scrutiny over his role in the MLG Clash, Faze Banks resigned as CEO of Faze Clan Gaming.
