Gold-Tick verified X accounts are scams about fake XRP airdrops, and often use content generated by AI to deceive users. XRP fans should remain vigilant and trust only news from verified sources.
Scammers have been using this fake Airdrop tactic repeatedly for several weeks, and there may be new opportunities to seduce XRP users. Several of these accounts have been suspended due to complaints from multiple communities, but not before the posts remained active for hours.
Don’t fall into an XRP airdrop scam
Social media scams are very prominent in the crypto industry, and advances in AI video generation only exacerbate the problem.
Over the past few days, verified X accounts have been spreading rumors about XRP airdrops. The danger is very clear as XRP makes headlines today.

Fake XRP Airdrop Posts from Verified X (Twitter) Accounts
The content of these scams is fairly consistent. Verified X accounts with a reliable gold checkmark will post “notifications” about suspicious XRP airdrops.
All of these accounts will be named “Ripple News” even if the handle had nothing to do with the company.
As Beincrypto observed, some of these fraudulent accounts had nearly 100,000 followers.
Users consider these posts to be advertisements, each with supportive comments from other bots. These include both information about “billing” for bonus airdrops and feedback indicating suspicions of your XRP wallet. However, this is just a trick to steal information and funds.
These XRP airdrop frauds have been going on for weeks since the SEC V Ripple lawsuit ended in a settlement. XRP futures trading and ETF buzz may give these bad actors the opportunity to hook new potential targets.
Ripple’s fan community is full of excitement, but Earger users need to stay vigilant. Otherwise, they could lose their portfolio.
Meanwhile, the X admin has deleted many problematic posts. For example, Crypto Scam Hunters posted a list of illegally confirmed accounts last week. Since this list was announced, all targets have been stopped or all problem posts have been removed.
In other words, XRP airdrop scammers could be verified with X, which is very concerning. Deepfake Crypto scams on social media are a major concern these days.
In October 2024, users lost nearly $46 million in such a scam. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, Deepfake Crypto Scams stole over $200 million from users.
Therefore, it is important for users to thoroughly evaluate “rewards” or airdrop schemes. A little vigilance can go a long way.
