Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has issued a new fraud warning about scammers who disguise Bince Binance Support.
According to the exchange, scammers may trick you into scanning fake QR codes or stealing your face.
Bad actors can satisfy potential victims pretending to be Binak employees in order to “verify” their accounts for security or technical reasons.
They then ask you to record or send a video of your face. This should be a common step in the verification process. But in that way, the con man is trying to steal the identity of a potential victim so that he can bypass the security system of the exchange.
Stolen credentials can potentially be used to stomp facial recognition software and gain access to someone else’s account.
On top of that, malicious actors may send fake QR codes via popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp.
Binance urged users to refrain from responding to suspicious requests from Binance, such as recording videos and scanning QR codes.
A recent Certik report shows that over $2.1 billion in codes have been stolen in 2025 so far.
