Donald Trump Jr. said the US should lead the global crypto industry and describe it as a “trillion dollar” opportunity, highlighting the need for legislation to promote innovation and provide a clear framework to secure domestic tax revenue.
“Cryptocurrency is going to be the future of finance. We did everything we could imagine in our previous administration to send it elsewhere. People want to invest in America. They want that stability.
Trump Jr. reiterated that his involvement in the crypto platform came from necessities rather than expertise.
“We knew all about the code, so we didn’t get caught up in it. We were being criticized and inevitably got hooked on it,” he explained.
Trump Jr. pointed out the economic potential of the crypto industry and advocated development within the United States.
“It’s going to be a trillion dollar industry and we should be based here in the US. America should get all that tax benefits. They should have innovation, growth, that strategic thinking,” he said.
“I’m very excited about the bill because it’s going to really confirm that America is home to crypto and blockchain technology for the future,” he added.
