Bitfinex Business Day brings together institutions and professional investors for an invitation-only summit!
The Cripto Latin Fest was officially launched on August 20, 2025 at Bitfinex Business Day, an industry summit, with builders, experts and thought leaders in attendance, discussing business strategy, regulations, the rapidly evolving legal environment, access to institutional liquidity, and symbolic access.
Will Hernandez and Fabian Delgado of the Bitfinex Business Development team outlined how Resilient Infrastructure supports Capital Access and why Latam grows through digital markets and tokenization.

Bitfinex Securities released its first Latin American Market Inclusion Report, showing how tokenization, the key to unlocking the growth of Latin American capital markets, is key. Professor and Accountant Edgar Riccardo Zimenez Mendes joined us in a chat on the side of the fireplace to explain how the real barriers to investment are education and information.

On the panel on the adoption of digital assets in Finance, Diego Osna, Christian Guevara, Andreston and Daniel Marlanda discussed adoption in Latin America through real-life cases of banks and fintech that integrate blockchain into services.

Meanwhile, the regulations were central to the debate in the Law Committee. Paula Bermudez, Stephanie Sanchez, a lawyer for aka Cripto, Daniel Fortin and Martin Iturri discussed various regulatory regimes in the region. The takeaway was clear. Well-designed regulations do not limit growth, enable trust and attract foreign capital.

Overall, Crypto Latin Fest 2025 was a huge success and received an incredibly warm welcome in Medellin, Colombia. The Crypto Latin Fest 2025 demonstrated that Latin America has emerged as one of the most important regions for the adoption of cryptocurrency, driven by a mix of economic, social and technological factors. Continuing inflation, volatile local currency, and limited access to stable financial services has made digital assets, particularly Stablecoins, an attractive alternative to maintain value and encourage cross-border payments.
At the same time, high remittance flows and low banking groups create a strong demand for accessible, low-cost financial tools with cryptographic support. Governments and agencies in the region are increasingly involved in blockchain technology, examining regulatory frameworks and tokenization initiatives that demonstrate their growth legitimacy. This combination of grassroots demand and institutional benefits sets Latin America as a test site for real-world crypto use cases and is an important driver of global adoption.
