Bitgo, the flagship global provider of cryptocurrency management services, has announced Flare (FLR).
According to the team’s official statement, Bitgo, a leading cryptocurrency management solutions provider, is adding support for Flare (FLR), the layer-1 blockchain of data and its canary network Songbird (SGB). Both FLR and SGB are already available through Bitgo’s qualified custody and independent hot and cold wallets.

Mainly, this announcement will affect corporate clients interested in exposing promising altcoins in the viable L1 blockchain. BITGO offers institutions a flexible and secure option for asset management.
Flare is dedicated to enabling distributed systems to interact safely and seamlessly with real-world data. As the only EVM compatibility layer 1 with the ENSHRINED data protocol, Flare supports powerful applications across Defi, AI, ID, and institutional finances.
Songbird will act as a live test environment for new features before being deployed to the Flare Mainnet. Like Flare, it is EVM compatible, supports the same protocols above, and uses its own utility token (SGB) that is used for governance and transaction fees.
Songbird provides true economic incentives for testing and is a critical proof foundation for application developers and the broader flare ecosystem.
Native FLR staking support is coming
Hugo Philion, CEO and co-founder of Flare, is excited about the integration, welcomes all institutions and experiments with offering BITGO for SGB and FLR.
Partnering with qualified US-based custodians like Bitgo is an important milestone in Flare’s institutional journey. Bitgo’s reputation, regulatory qualifications, and segregation account support will make you an ideal partner for preparing to launch products that require compliant custody solutions. We are proud to work with Bitgo to expand secure access to FLR and SGB for agencies around the world.
In the coming months, the team is expected to deepen their collaboration and unlock new opportunities for Bitgo clients.
In other words, BITGO adds support for Flare’s token standard, supporting wrap flare (WFLR) and seamless support for flare P-chains. Additionally, FLR’s native staking support is expected to be released by the end of 2025.
As interest in decentralized AI, real-world data feeds, and multi-chain defi grow, Bitgo continues to work to expand access to high potential networks such as flares and songbirds with facility-grade infrastructure.
