Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands – September 23, 2025 – Bitfinex, a premier digital asset trading platform (https://www.bitfinex.com/), announced today that it was one of the first exchanges of XPL, the native token of Plasma, a layer 1 blockchain aimed at Stablecoin Payments.

Plasma features zero-fee USDT transfer and EVM compatibility, along with the highest reliability bridge of Bitcoin that allows BTC to travel directly to the plasma’s EVM environment without relying on centralized custodians. This unlocks new applications at the intersection of Stablecoins and the world’s largest digital assets, creating opportunities for both developers and users.

XPL is a native token of the plasma blockchain and is used to support transaction fee payments, reward verification equipment, and network participation. The token was launched with an initial supply of 10 billion XPL, with allocations for public sales, ecosystem growth, teams, and community initiatives, as outlined in the Plasma framework.

Bitfinex customers may create XPL deposits at around 10am on 24/09/2025, subject to network conditions. The transaction is scheduled to begin around 1pm on 25/09/2025, subject to liquidity requirements being met. XPL will be traded against US dollars (XPL/USD) and tether tokens (XPL/USDT).
