Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands – August 26, 2025 – Bitfinex, a premier digital asset trading platform, today announced that it will list MNT, the native token of Mantle, the modular Ethereum Layer 2 network.

The mantle, launched in 2023, is managed by the token holder community through the mantle governance process. The network is designed with a modular architecture that separates the execution, consensus, and data availability layers. This is to improve performance while maintaining Ethereum security features. Governance decisions are made through an on-chain voting system, with proposals being enacted based on the majority support from participating token holders.

The MNT serves as a native gas token for transaction fees in the mantle and as a governance token for the Mantle DAO, allowing holders to propose and vote on changes to the protocol. According to Mantle, MNT tokens enhance staking and incentive mechanisms to support network growth and participation. As outlined in the Mantle Governance Framework, the total supply is 6.219 billion MNT, allocated for ecosystem development, governance and the Ministry of Finance purposes.

Bitfinex customers can create MNT deposits at about 2pm on 26/08/2025, subject to network conditions. The transaction is scheduled to begin UTC on August 28, 2025 at around 2pm. This is subject to meeting liquidity requirements. MNTs will be traded against US dollars (MNT/USD) and tether tokens (MNT/USDT).
