Binance CEO Richard Teng is scheduled to visit South Korea next week, where he will highlight the importance of user protection and regulatory compliance. He will speak at notable events such as the World Knowledge Forum and give a keynote speech at Cyber Summit Korea 2025, hosted by the National Intelligence Agency.
Ten’s Agenda
During the trip, Teng will meet with regulators, law enforcement officers and industry leaders to discuss market transparency and user protection cooperation. His trip comes amid a new effort by South Korean authorities to formalize the crypto regulations.
Ten said before his trip: “In a rapidly evolving regulatory environment, investors’ protection and international cooperation are essential, so the virtual asset industry can acquire its position as a reliable part of the financial ecosystem.”
Last week, Binance received a certificate of appreciation from the South Korean National Police Agency in the fight against cyber and virtual asset crime. This is the second such a praise, and is the only overseas exchange to win this recognition twice.
The real story: Binance’s stagnant push to the Korean market
Interestingly, since 2023, Binance has tried to enter the Korean market by obtaining GoPax (a local cryptocurrency exchange), but regulators have delayed approval. Therefore, Teng’s visit is seen as a planned effort to rebuild goodwill and explore opportunities for collaboration.
