December 19th Astana Financial Services Authority raises Bitfinex Securities platform cap to $310 million as tokenization growth continues
Astana, Kazakhstan 19 December 2025 – Bitfinex Securities announced that the Astana Financial Services Authority (“AFSA”), the independent regulator of financial services and related activities in the Astana International Financial Center (“AIFC”), has increased the platform limits for Bitfinex Securities’ AIFC entities by an additional $100 million, to a total of $310 million.
This reflects the growing demand for tokenized securities around the world and recognizes Bitfinex Securities’ role as one of the leading international tokenization platforms. The increase in platform limits means that Bitfinex Securities can facilitate additional fundraising activities and secondary market trading for companies wishing to list on the platform.
The decision comes at the end of a pivotal year for Bitfinex Securities, which also operates a regulated entity in El Salvador. In September 2025, it announced that it was on track to reach $250 million in tokenized listed assets across its platform. This includes the listing of tokenized subordinated debt of a UK community bank, tokenized exposure to Bitcoin mining in North America, tokenized US Treasury bills, tokenized equity of a company providing litigation finance for automotive industry litigation in the UK, and tokenization of bonds to invest in microfinance opportunities in emerging markets.
“AFSA has proven to be a pioneer in digital asset regulation, and we remain grateful for its continued support,” said Jesse Knutson, Head of Operations at Bitfinex Securities. There is a growing awareness around the world that we are opening up new markets. As a forward-looking jurisdiction, the AIFC is well-positioned to benefit from a digital asset-friendly economy. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with AFSA.” Over the next few years. ”
Bitfinex Securities was the first global digital asset platform to join AFSA’s regulatory sandbox, Fintech Lab, in September 2021. Since then, the company has listed $200 million worth of tokenized securities, including Mikro Kapital’s regular tokenized bond program and the first Blockstream Mining Notes issued in 2022.
Bitfinex Securities has filed an application with AFSA to transition from FintechLab to Accredited Investment Exchange.
