Mike Mignola’s new dark folklore universe, Lands Unknown, is expanding, and if the next installment is anything like the first, we’re all in for a wonderfully weird ride.

Following the critical and commercial success of Bowling with Corpses and Other Strange Tales from Lands Unknown — an anthology of short, eerie, and shadowy tales (that sold out its first printing almost instantly) — Dark Horse Comics has just announced the follow-up. Uri Tupka and the Gods is a 104-page graphic novel written and drawn by Mignola, with colors once again by longtime collaborator Dave Stewart. The book arrives February 24, 2026.

Where Bowling with Corpses introduced us to a strange new world via a series of loosely connected tales, Uri Tupka zeroes in on one oddball character: Uri Tupka, a former Doctor of Theology turned fugitive heretic, wandering the lands in search of evidence that the gods are real. In classic Mignola style, the search quickly becomes far more than it seems.

“This is the first of two books tracing the life of Uri Tupka…” explains Mignola. “See Uri barely escape one disaster after another—pirates, bandits, witches and demons, giants and monsters. There is also a talking cat and a queen of the vegetables because, of course, why wouldn’t there be?”

If Bowling with Corpses was a pitch-perfect mash-up of folklore, dark fantasy, and the macabre — equal parts Italo Calvino and Edward Gorey — Uri Tupka and the Gods looks to expand that scope with a full-blown theological quest. But don’t expect a somber meditation on the divine order. This is Mike Mignola we’re talking about. The gods here look like they were doodled in the margins of a medieval apocalyptic manuscript after too much bog ale — and that’s a feature, not a bug.

Mignola describes Uri Tupka and the Gods as “some of the most fun I’ve ever had drawing comics.” With each new release, he seems ever freer to wander down increasingly bizarre narrative alleys, pairing his minimalist lines and dark shadows with an expanding menagerie of haunted knick-knacks, cursed body parts, and tragic figures trying (and often failing) to make sense of an unknowable world.

So, pack your haversack with hard tack, say your prayers (to gods who may or may not be listening), and prepare to follow Uri Tupka into lands unknown.

Dozens of memecoin-related X accounts including Pumpfun suspended for unknown reasons https://earlybirdsinvest.com/dozens-of-memecoin-related-x-accounts-including-pumpfun-suspended-for-unknown-reasons/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/dozens-of-memecoin-related-x-accounts-including-pumpfun-suspended-for-unknown-reasons/#respond Tue, 17 Jun 2025 04:02:11 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/dozens-of-memecoin-related-x-accounts-including-pumpfun-suspended-for-unknown-reasons/

The official Pump.fun account and the personal handle of its founder Alon Cohen were seemingly suspended by X on June 16, along with a cohort of other accounts tied to the memecoin sector.

As of press time, neither X nor the people behind the suspended accounts explained the reason for the suspensions.

Users noticed that the accounts were returning “user not found” errors at approximately 7:30 p.m. UTC, effectively removing the chief communication channel for the Solana-based memecoin launchpad site.

Memecoin-related accounts suspended

An X user identified as Otto compiled a list showing dozens of locked profiles, including handles tied to the GMGN and Bloom trading communities.

Affected accounts included @gmgnai, @haze0x, @arthur_gmgn, @BloomTrading, and @imBFFF00, as well as bot-infrastructure developers such as @bullx_io and @ElizaOS.

Otto described the event as an “internal enforcement sweep” rather than the result of coordinated mass-report campaigns. CryptoSlate has been unable to verify the claim.

Most of the frozen accounts provide trading tools, automated order routing, or marketing services for on-chain assets, functions that often interact with X’s rules on platform manipulation and spam.

However, the list also includes influencers and well-known traders in the memecoin circles.

Over $10M within an hour

Within the first hour of the account’s disappearance, users flooded Pump.fun with memecoins referencing the suspension and the founder’s alias.

DEX Screener data as of 8:22 p.m. UTC show five of them among the top 10 tokens trending for the day. Collectively, they accounted for $10.4 million in volume at the time.

Furthermore, 15 out of the 31 tokens that fulfilled the bonding curve and “graduated” from Pump.fun within one hour after the ban were related to the episode.

According to a Dune dashboard by user adam_tehc, the suspension-related tokens that graduated represent 9% of all memecoins that completed the bonding curve on June 16.

A major cybersecurity incident at a healthcare firm may have exposed the sensitive personal and health records of more than 100,000 Americans.

In a new filing with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, North Carolina-based optical care firm Asheville Eye Associates says it discovered a serious data breach affecting 147,116 people.

In a statement, the firm says that an unknown attacker breached its systems and siphoned patient data from its network, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, medical treatment reports and health insurance records.

“On January 31, 2025, Asheville Eye Associates (AEA) notified individuals that it had detected and stopped a network security incident. An unauthorized party gained access to our network and acquired certain files from our systems. We quickly engaged third-party specialists to assist us with securing the network environment and investigating the incident.

Since that time, AEA has completed a comprehensive review and investigation of the potentially affected records and systems. Through that subsequent investigation, which concluded on April 14, 2025, we identified additional individuals whose personal information was contained in the affected records.”

Asheville Eye Associates is a firm specializing in ophthalmology services, offering cataract surgery, laser surgery for glaucoma and diabetes, LASIK and other procedures to treat ophthalmic disorders.

The firm says it abruptly sent letters of notification to impacted individuals to provide more information about the cybersecurity incident, while offering access to free credit monitoring services to people whose Social Security numbers were compromised.

For now, Asheville Eye Associates says it has not detected any instance of identity theft related to the data breach.
