A leading crypto adviser is sending an urgent message to XRP investors. Jake Claver, who advises the ultra-wealthy, says the time to prepare is before XRP becomes real money. Samsung’s next Ultra phone might not look like a radical departure based on current leaks so far, but the Galaxy S26 Ultra is shaping up to be a surprisingly refined beast under the hood.

According to a fresh scoop from @UniverseIce on X, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to slim down the hardware ever so slightly. The leaker says the Galaxy S26 Ultra is coming in at under 7mm thick versus the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 8.2mm.

It’s also shedding a bit of weight compared to the S25 Ultra, aiming to be one of the thinnest and lightest flagship Android phones out there. The screen size isn’t changing, but the body might get a touch taller and wider.

But what really stands out is the bump in charging speed. After sticking to 45W for years, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to jump to 60W fast charging. If this holds up, it’ll be the fastest charging speed ever on a Galaxy flagship, and finally, something to match the pace set by rivals in China.

Same battery, new muscle

That said, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely sticking with a 5,000mAh battery. Under the hood, it’s expected to run on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, though Samsung is also said to be testing its own Exynos 2600 as a possible option.

Even with all the potential upgrades inside, the outside is staying familiar. The S26 Ultra is tipped to keep the same sharp corners, flat edges, and bold quad-camera layout on the back.

Furthermore, the tipster says the S26 Ultra’s screen is getting an upgrade with new anti-reflective glass and something called CoE depolarizer tech. Not much is known about the CoE part yet, but the glass should cut glare and make the screen look brighter and sharper, especially in bright light.

Camera tweaks, not a revolution

For the cameras, the S26 Ultra is said to use Samsung’s newer ISOCELL HP2 (2026) sensor with a larger aperture for better light capture. It’s also expected to pack updated 3x telephoto and 5x periscope lenses, both with wider apertures too.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra looks more like a careful tune-up than a full redesign. Samsung is sticking to what works while finally adding some long-requested upgrades, like faster charging. With a launch expected in early 2026, more details should keep trickling out in the coming months.

First, let’s look at, well, looks. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 is the largest Samsung Galaxy smartwatch, thicker than the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. But it also happens to be a smidge lighter. Both have three buttons, including a Quick Button for accessing frequently used options.

The biggest difference is that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has a digital-only bezel, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic adds a rotating bezel. Considering Andrew Myrick notes in his initial Galaxy Watch 8 hands-on that the rotating bezel is his favorite way of interacting with a smartwatch, this will be a big deal for a lot of people like him.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 comes in four titanium finishes: Silver, Gray, White, and a new one: Blue. It has a large 1.5-inch AMOLED screen housed in a squircle design that affords up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. The screen is made from sapphire crystal, and the watch itself is as rugged as they come, meeting an IP68 and an impressive 10ATM rating as well as MIL-STD-810H standards for durability.

In terms of battery life, it has a 590mAh battery, the same as the previous generation model, which means it should last about four days in power savings mode, about two with frequent workout tracking, and more.

By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic comes in basic Black or White, though you can spruce it up with various band types (sport, fabric, or hybrid as well as third-party options). It employs a thin and cushioned design that has been brought over from the original Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.

This squircle design change is immediately noticeable, and Myrick notes that it’s one that grew on him after he became accustomed to it with last year’s Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra after wearing that model for a while. As noted, along with the Dynamic Lug System, the big differentiator is the inclusion of a handy rotating bezel on this watch.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has a smaller 1.34-inch Super AMOLED sapphire crystal display with the same 3,000 nits peak brightness. It boasts both IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certification, but it isn’t quite as water-resistant for deep diving with “only” a 5ATM rating.

The battery is also smaller at 445mAh, and while Samsung doesn’t note its rated battery life, you can expect to charge it at least every day or two if it falls in line with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Classic, which has a slightly smaller battery.

There’s an LTE option with both watches as well as Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC for tap payments. While the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 is more expensive, there are trade-in deals with older model Samsung Galaxy Watches (not the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2024 at the time of this writing) that can save you a few bucks.

Let’s look at how these two smartwatches compare when it comes to basic specs.

When it comes to the internals of these two smartwatches, what they can track and what you can do with them are pretty much identical. Both run on an Exynos W1000 processor and come loaded with Wear OS 6. Both have 64GB storage (that’s double that of the 2024 edition of the Galaxy Watch Ultra) and 2GB RAM.

Both track all the usual suspects when it comes to health, wellness, and vitals, thanks to the inclusion of a Samsung BioActive sensor. This includes workouts, calorie burn, activity levels, sleep, stress, temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen, and more. They offer tailored sleep coaching, an area where Samsung has been upping the ante. This includes the ability to detect moderate to severe signs of sleep apnea.

There’s also Vascular Load tracking, which monitors your stress levels during sleep, and Antioxidant Index to measure your carotenoid levels. These relate to dietary intake and metabolism, and the data can help you make more informed lifestyle choices.

To use the latter, you need to remove the watch and place your finger on the underside sensor, which isn’t ideal, but it’s worth doing if cartenoid level measurements are important to you. High Stress Alerts will ping you if either watch notices your stress levels are too high, prompting you to take a breath. There’s also a mindfulness tracker and energy score.

Runners will love the Running Coach, which calculates your fitness level on a scale from one to 10 and delivers a customized and personalized training plan with real-time guidance and motivational insights to help you along on your journey. Using Together, you can also challenge friends and family for further motivation. Both also incorporate dual-frequency GPS for tracking your runs, hikes, walks, cycles, and other outdoor activities.

One big update with both the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is the inclusion of Google Gemini out of the box, replacing the outdated Google Assistant smart voice assistant. With this, you can summon Gemini with natural voice commands, whether that’s to initiate a workout, check on your calendar, or simply ask questions about what’s going on around you. Samsung worked closely with Google to ensure that there’s seamless integration with its first-party Wear OS apps.

Speaking of which, you can also keep on top of things by leveraging the multi-info tiles and Now Bar, which keeps your most crucial notifications front and center.

The decision between the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 vs. Galaxy Watch 8 Classic really comes down to your personal needs and budget. But even if you have the bucks to spare, is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 worth it?

Let’s consider your biggest upgrades with that model compared to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. It’s lighter but also thicker, has a larger display, longer battery life, and is more durable. It’s really designed to be the adventurer’s watch. So, if you’re the type of person who participates in a lot of outdoor sports, especially underwater activities, you’ll find value in it.

The extra battery life is appreciated as well, but if you are already used to charging your smartwatch every day or two, you might be used to that routine anyway. With that said, longer battery life is always appreciated, especially on those days when you’re at 2% right before you’re about to go for a run.

Design and feature-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, as well as its smaller Galaxy Watch 8 sister, is starting to look more like an Ultra model anyway, with the same cushioned and squircle design. However, there’s a key advantage with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic to keep in mind if you would use it: the rotating bezel.

We haven’t yet tested the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 but based on Michael Hicks’ review of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024 model), if the iterative update offers even slight improvements, it won’t disappoint. He calls that model “a great smartwatch that’s enjoyable to use,” applauding how powerful and reliable it is. We also named the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra among the best waterproof smartwatches you can buy, and chances are the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 will take its spot on the list.

Interestingly, Hicks said last year that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra falls between casual and serious users. Given this, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is even more skewed to the casual side, but with all the same features serious users will appreciate, minus the extra battery life and durability, and with a cool rotating bezel. It’s the more elegant-looking of the two watches without sacrificing too much. So, it will likely be the preference for most users.

Bottom line: if you have an older model to trade in and it brings the price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 in line with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, it’s worth considering. But it’s not necessary for most people unless you’re heavy into water and other outdoor sports, or you’re a power user where every last minute of battery life counts. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is a lovely medium that affords all the same features at a more affordable price and with a similar yet more stylish design.

If you want something smaller, consider the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8. If you already have the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024), don’t bother upgrading just yet. It’s not a big enough jump in features to warrant it.

As you step out into the blazing sun this summer, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll have to squint to see your phone’s display. While smartphone displays have gotten stupidly bright in the last few years, many are still difficult to see in direct sunlight.

That’s where the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in. While some of the best Android phones have brighter displays, the Galaxy S25 Ultra turns the tables by implementing a brilliant anti-glare layer that makes it dead easy to see in the sunlight, and that’s great for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors, especially this time of year.

But not all is rosy with Samsung’s latest flagship display. While the display excels in several areas, lingering problems from the Galaxy S24 Ultra haven’t been properly addressed. Let’s take a deeper dive into what makes the Galaxy S25 Ultra so good to use outside and why it’s a little tougher to enjoy indoors.

Comfort is key

In the modern era, all flagship phone displays look good. This applies to most phone specs these days, from performance to camera quality, which means differentiating products usually comes down to one or two categories that a product is strongest in.

Most display reviews and analysis focus too much on lab tests and not enough on the human part of the equation. Most people don’t care about the difference between 97% and 99% color accuracy, and it’s unlikely most people will ever notice that difference anyway, even if you hold two phones next to each other. Instead, I want to focus on the human quotient for these display reviews.

In the case of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, its display is weakest in the comfort category, but it has some standout attributes that are noteworthy. Let’s start with the positive!

Reflectivity

Samsung’s anti-glare filter, first introduced on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, is one of the best things Samsung has ever done for screen visibility. In the above images, I compare it to the OnePlus 13, our current favorite Android phone, and one with higher peak brightness capabilities than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Despite being a brighter display, the OnePlus 13 is harder to see outdoors because of the reflectivity of the glass. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is incredibly clean and vibrant, while it’s just plain difficult to see the OnePlus 13. Now, to be clear, I’m not picking on OnePlus here. Nearly every other phone on the market is just as hard to see, and it’s because almost no other company uses the type of anti-glare glass the S25 Ultra has.

The only problem here is that most screen protectors for the phone don’t have an anti-glare layer applied, meaning everything that makes the display so visible outdoors gets ruined. Make sure you get one like this official Samsung anti-reflection film to keep the display’s best attribute from being ruined!

Eye comfort settings

Samsung’s blue light filter, which the company calls “Eye Comfort Shield,” helps block blue light by reducing the intensity of blue subpixels. This makes the display appear much yellower and does a good job of reducing blue light emissions.

You can see this in action in the image above, which I captured with a microscope using a pure white image on the screen. Note how the intensity of the blue subpixels is notably reduced when Eye Comfort Shield is enabled.

By default, the mode will automatically adjust blue light based on the time of day. During daylight hours, blue light will be close to the default setting as if the mode were disabled. At night, the blue light will be automatically reduced to help better match the circadian rhythm of the human body, since most natural blue light only occurs during the day from sunlight.

Unfortunately, Samsung’s only real eye care solution is blue light blocking, a problem that you’ll learn more about in the brightness section below.

Color accuracy and depth

When the Galaxy S24 Ultra first launched, the display was considered “washed out” by some long-time Samsung fans. Samsung answered by adding in a vividness slider and enhancing the colors of the display. These same tweaks also made it to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The color calibration looks identical between both phones, but the Galaxy S25 Ultra does a better job of keeping colors more accurate when viewing the screen from an angle than the S24 Ultra does.

Samsung’s AMOLED panels on both the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra exhibit color banding that’s not seen on most other modern flagship phones. The main problem is that Samsung continues to use 8-bit panels in their phones despite the entire industry switching to 10-bit as the standard.

For the test, I used an 8-bit and 10-bit gradient comparison image found on GitHub. On the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s panel, there’s little to no difference between the 8-bit and 10-bit gradients. The OnePlus 13 shows additional colors throughout all the gradients, although the green gradient showed up best on camera.

Many users have complained about color banding on wallpaper and other images, even ones taken with the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera, since that camera can capture 10-bit images. And while Samsung absolutely needs to upgrade their displays to 10-bit to keep up with the pack, I want to commend them for not stooping to using color dithering to fake 10-bit color. Some other companies, like Xiaomi, use color dithering to fake deeper colors and it’s painful for some users because of the flickering pixels.

Brightness and dimming

Everything this phone tells you about its brightness levels is a lie. Setting the brightness slider at 100% never actually means 100% brightness under any circumstance.

Normal “100%” brightness, like most phones, doesn’t come close to the advertised peak brightness. That’s normally reserved for the dedicated “sunlight mode” that gets activated when a bright light, like the sun, shines on the screen’s light sensor. We can force this by holding a flashlight up to the display and measuring the nit output. Even in sunlight mode, the display tops out at around 2,000 nits.

At normal 100% brightness, this number sits at around 800 nits, which is surprisingly low for a modern phone. Extra brightness mode brings this number up to around 1,500 nits, which is closer to an expected value from “100% brightness,” but that’s not the biggest problem with this display’s brightness capabilities.

Instead, that comes down to Samsung using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM dimming) to control brightness. This means there is no point in time where the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display hits its maximum brightness potential, the way the Galaxy S24 FE’s display does, for example.

Worse yet, Samsung is still using a very low frequency 480Hz PWM rate for the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display. Phones like the Honor Magic 7 Pro use 4320Hz PWM dimming and, even then, Honor’s phones only use this at low brightness to keep colors accurate and pixels evenly lit.

Despite all this, the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display still suffers from mura, an effect that means pixels are not evenly lit across the entire panel.

At 20% brightness, a grain pattern is clearly visible on the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display. While you can see it at varying ranges of brightness, it’s most visible at low brightness levels and was a problem even back when the Galaxy S24 Ultra launched. While we thought Samsung had fixed this in the S25 Ultra’s display, clearly the problem has not gone away.

Compare it with the OnePlus 13’s display above on the same flat grey background at the same brightness level, and you’ll see the difference. The OnePlus 13’s pixels look evenly lit across the board, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s have a clear “dirty” or grainy pattern.

Some people are more sensitive to this than others, and the effect tends to be worse on some colors than others. In other words, your mileage may vary depending on what you do and how much this effect annoys you.

Good, but not the best

While the Galaxy S25 Ultra represents the best Samsung phone the company has ever made, that doesn’t mean that every component is the best the company has to offer. The display on the Galaxy S25 Ultra shines particularly bright outside, where the anti-glare filter makes it more easily visible than any other phone I’ve ever used. It’s a brilliant spot of engineering that I wish more phones would copy!

But while blue light control and color accuracy are good, Samsung’s continued use of 8-bit panels means color banding is more common on the Galaxy S25 Ultra than on any other competing phone in this price range. Luminance consistency and brightness management are also mediocre, with noticeable grain at low brightness and low-HZ PWM dimming at all brightness levels.

While the display looks good on the surface and does a great job of highlighting the strengths of AMOLED — vibrant colors, deep blacks, and no ghosting — the quality of the panel Samsung is using leaves a lot to be desired for a $1,300 phone. Even budget Android phones offer better dimming methods and faster PWM rates, native 10-bit depth, and no mura.

Does this mean the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display is bad? No, not at all, but there’s plenty of room for improvement on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

• Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra reportedly raced through Geekbench’s performance test with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 Plus SoC.
• Despite the stronger chip, the tablet supposedly score “lower” than phones; however, it features 12GB RAM and Android 16 (One UI 8).
• Previous Tab S11 series leaks claim Samsung will return the base model and drop the Plus, while also giving the Ultra a slightly bigger battery.

Amid all the Samsung leaks as of late, a recent one claims that the company’s upcoming Ultra tablet has appeared in a benchmark database.

Spotted by the folks at Gizmochina, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has reportedly run through Geekbench for its performance test checks and balances. This appearance was likely for its rumored chip, which the leak claims is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 Plus SoC. Strangely, the publication reports the tablet scored “lower than smartphones” with MediaTek’s flagship chip.

The Geekbench listing reportedly states the S11 Ultra achieved a score of 5,312 in its multi-core test and 1,420 in the single-core run.

There were some smaller specs posted in the listing, like the existence of Android 16 and 12GB of RAM. Still no word on its internal storage; however, there’s a chance Samsung could pop 256GB in it to match that 12GB of RAM, like the Tab S10 Ultra.

An Ultra Look

The latest Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra leaks bring new information forward while also switching up the narrative on a key specification: its SoC of choice. In a previous leak, the tablet was rumored to receive MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 SoC from late last year. This chip was the company’s flagship response to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, what this alleged Geekbench listing purports is the brand’s updated (and upgraded) variant.

The Dimensity 9400 Plus offers a Big Core design with one Arm Cortex-X925 core at 3.73GHz. The company was adamant during its launch that this chip could “propel” users’ experience with Android UX. What’s more, the chip is paired with the 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU for “PC-like” graphical features on Android phones.

The SoC launched in April, and it seems Samsung could opt for this leveled-up version of MediaTek’s flagship prowess.

Other Galaxy Tab S11 series rumors claim Samsung will drop the Plus model in 2025, bringing back its base model, which was absent last year. While the base model could see a familiar 8,160mAh battery, the Ultra model might jump 500mAh to ~11,374mAh.

Speculation claims Samsung might hold onto its next flagship tablet series until after its summer Unpacked. This means we might not see them until the fall at the latest.

Samsung continues to tease the launch of its next foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and today it revealed a bit about the phone’s planned camera upgrades. The company reinforced the need for hardware, software, and AI to work together to provide top-notch mobile camera experiences in 2025, as it wrote in a blog post. Specifically, Samsung previewed an intelligent camera system that can understand what you’re shooting and adjust on the fly to match any situation.

“As AI evolves from text-based prompts to multimodal understanding, Galaxy devices are becoming smarter — able to get what you’re looking at and respond to situations. The camera is at the heart of this transformation,” the company explained. “More than just a tool for capturing images, coupled with enhanced AI-powered features, the Galaxy camera is now part of the intuitive interface that turns what users see into understanding and action.”

We’ve already seen intelligent software use mobile cameras for object recognition and context awareness. The Samsung Galaxy S25 series was one of the first to get Gemini Live’s multimodal video streaming capabilities. With it, users can show Gemini their surroundings and converse with AI about them.

However, this teaser confirms Samsung has bigger plans for how AI can improve camera performance on foldable phones.

“When paired with the flexible, expansive screen of a foldable, this experience becomes even more powerful, dynamic and immersive,” Samsung writes. “Because innovation means nothing without trust, privacy is built into every layer helping to ensure that data is protected at all times.”

The teasers come as Samsung is expected to bring over the flagship 200MP camera sensor from the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 this year.

“The camera will only get smarter — helping users capture life’s moments more vividly and make everyday experiences more seamless, personal and impactful,” the company adds.
