Friends,

Today, we’re happy to announce some significant updates to the Devcon4 website, and with it we wanted to unveil a bit about the ticketing and discount processes and more!

Applications for scholarships and builder & student discounts are now open!

We hope that expediting this process for builders, students, and potential scholars prior to the release of general tickets will help fast-track approvals and ensure that Devcon grows more diverse, accessible and equitable, even with increased demand.

Then on July 9, 2018, the first wave* of general tickets will go on sale.

To ensure that tickets are not bulk-reserved, or scooped up by the quickest hands, we ask for your support in respecting a limit of one ticket per person and 20 tickets per organization.

To stay tuned for future Devcon4 updates: sign up for the Devcon4 mailing list on the site and follow our new @EFDevcon Twitter account!

We look forward to making this year’s Devcon the best yet!

–dc⟠ıv team

*What is a *wave*? To ensure that the majority of tickets are reserved for the builders we design Devcon for, we are selling small batches of General Admissions tickets in several intervals — which we are calling waves. The first wave will begin at 8am PDT on July 9, 2018. However, applications for scholarships and developer & student discounts will always be open, regardless of the waves.

Live: Devcon5 Final Ticket Appeals https://earlybirdsinvest.com/live-devcon5-final-ticket-appeals/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/live-devcon5-final-ticket-appeals/#respond Mon, 25 Aug 2025 23:33:27 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/live-devcon5-final-ticket-appeals/

This is it: Final appeals are the last way to book your ticket to Osaka for Devcon 5

Note: All participants in the on-chain Devcon Ticket Raffle and Auction will receive an NFT-ticket to Devcon5! In the next days, your ERC-721 and will be issued to the addresses used in the on-chain sales and we’ll release a post detailing how to retrieve your ticket. For help with this process or other questions related to the on-chain ticketing processes, contact support@ethereum.org.

Over the last months, we’ve experimented with as many ways as possible to get Devcon tickets into the hands of Ethereum community members and to the general public. This year, our small team has fielded Builder, Student, Scholar, Speaker, Sponsor, and Press applications, we’ve been on an adventure through three public waves, an on-chain raffle and an on-chain auction. As a small percentage ticket codes from these processes go unclaimed, we’re left with a small reserve that will now be repurposed for a final appeals process.

The process for the Final Appeals window will be familiar to those that participated last year. To take part, simply fill out the form at the bottom of this page. From there, we’ll review the submissions for stand-out situations (tell us a bit about why you’d like to attend!), and then randomly select as many submissions as we have spots available.

All selected applications will receive a voucher code that will be active for a 48-hour window. When these codes expire, another round of applicants will have an opportunity to check-out.

By next week, we’ll have allotted the final Devcon passes, and the one-month countdown to joining together in Osaka will be underway. Thank you for your support, for being on this ride with us, and we hope to see you soon.

Devcon5 Final Ticket Appeals Form

Opens: Live now

Ends: Friday September 6, 2019 at 11:59PM Pacific Time (US)

Catch huge YouTube TV deals for NFL Sunday Ticket before the 2025 season https://earlybirdsinvest.com/catch-huge-youtube-tv-deals-for-nfl-sunday-ticket-before-the-2025-season/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/catch-huge-youtube-tv-deals-for-nfl-sunday-ticket-before-the-2025-season/#respond Tue, 10 Jun 2025 20:08:49 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/catch-huge-youtube-tv-deals-for-nfl-sunday-ticket-before-the-2025-season/

What you need to know

  • YouTube TV detailed a few discounts available for new users of the NFL Sunday Ticket for their first season watching football.
  • New users grabbing the Season Pass on YouTube can do so for $276, while those on YouTube’s Primetime Channels will see it for $318.
  • Last year, YouTube TV introduced “build a multiview,” Fantasy score integration, and much more for NFL Sunday Ticket holders.

YouTube is announcing deals and discounts for consumers interested in the NFL Sunday Ticket for the first time.

In a Reddit post, YouTube TV detailed new pricing discounts for new users, students, and military personnel (via 9to5Google). If you’re a new subscriber to the NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV or YouTube, you will find a differently priced set of plans. According to the post, the Season Pass on YouTube TV for the 2025-2026 NFL season will cost $276 or 12 payments of $23 per month. If you’re interested in RedZone, that’ll take things up to $318 or 12 payments of $26.50 per month.

Those opting for YouTube’s Primetime Channels can grab their first Sunday Ticket season for the same prices as previously stated.

It’s worth stressing that these reduced pricing options are only available for new users and their first season with the NFL Sunday Ticket. Moving on, YouTube states students looking to grab the NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan can do so for $119. Military personnel, veterans, teachers, and nurses will receive a discounted version of the NFL plan, which comes to $198, “in the next few days.”

The NFL Sunday Ticket evolves again due to user feedback, as YouTube states it’s rolling out the option for viewers in more states to purchase/pay for the Season Pass in 12 monthly installments. YouTube warns that the plan length will shorten as the season nears (going from 12 months to 8 monthly payments).

Alternatively, users can expect YouTube TV to bring its Month-to-Month plan in early September. This gives users more flexibility in how they want to enjoy their football season.

Users who’ve had the NFL Sunday Ticket before aren’t in for any special deals or discounts as of right now. YouTube TV states you should still expect the same $378 charge for the Season Pass and $480 for YouTube’s Primetime Channels.

YouTube TV has continued to update its NFL Sunday Ticket experience, as last summer brought customization. During pre-season in August, YouTube TV said users could enjoy “build a multiview.” Viewers can create a personal streaming view that consists of two, three, or four games to watch at once. Moreover, users can even attach their Yahoo Fantasy accounts to their NFL Sunday Ticket account to see fantasy scores as they change.

The addition of extra playback controls and a spoiler mode entered last season to further progress the Sunday Ticket.

Bitcoin Traders’ Favorite Lottery Ticket for the First Half of the Year — The $300K BTC Call https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-traders-favorite-lottery-ticket-for-the-first-half-of-the-year-the-300k-btc-call/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-traders-favorite-lottery-ticket-for-the-first-half-of-the-year-the-300k-btc-call/#respond Sun, 04 May 2025 20:17:16 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-traders-favorite-lottery-ticket-for-the-first-half-of-the-year-the-300k-btc-call/

In the crypto market, bold predictions aren’t just talk – they’re backed by real dollars, often through option plays that resemble lottery tickets offering outsized upside for relatively small costs.

The stand-out as of writing is the Deribit-listed $300,000 strike bitcoin call option expiring on June 26. Theoretically, this call is a bet that BTC’s spot price will triple to over $300,000 by the end of the first half of the year.

Over 5,000 contracts were active in the June $300K call at press time, with a notional open interest of $484 million. That makes it the second-most popular option bet in the crucial June expiry, trailing only the $110K call.

Deribit is the world’s leading crypto options exchange, accounting for over 75% of the global options activity. On Deribit, one options contract represents 1 BTC. Quarterly expiries, such as the one due on June 26, drive heightened market activity and volatility, with traders using these deadlines to hedge positions, lock in gains, or speculate on the next price moves.

“Perhaps, people like buying lottery tickets. As evidenced by the call skew, there are always folks that want the hyperinflation hedge,” Spencer Hallarn, a derivatives trader at crypto market maker GSR, said, explaining the high open interest in the so-called out-of-the-money (OTM) call at the $300K strike.

Deep OTM calls, also called wings, require a large move in the underlying asset’s price to become profitable and, hence, are significantly cheaper compared to those closer to or below the asset’s going market rate. However, the payoff is huge if the market rallies, which makes them similar to buying lottery tickets with slim odds but potential for a big payout.

Deribit’s BTC options market has experienced similar flows during previous bull cycles, but those bets rarely gained enough popularity to rank as the second-most preferred play in quarterly expiries.

The chart shows that the June 26 expiry is the largest among all settlements due this year, and the $300K call has the second-highest open interest buildup in the June expiry options.

Explaining the chunky notional open interest in the $300K call, GSR’s Trader Simranjeet Singh said, “I suspect this is mostly an accumulation of relatively cheap wings betting on broader U.S. reg narrative being pro-crypto and the ‘wingy possibility’ (no pun intended) of a BTC strategic reserve that was punted around at the start of the administration.”

On Friday, Senator Cynthia Lummis said in a speech that she’s “particularly pleased with President Trump’s support of her BITCOIN Act.

“The BITCOIN Act is the only solution to our nation’s $36T debt. I’m grateful for a forward-thinking president who not only recognizes this, but acts on it,” Lummis said on X.

Who sold $300K calls?

According to Amberdata’s Director of Derivatives, notable selling in the $300K call expiring on June 26 occurred in April as part of the covered call strategy, which traders use to generate additional yield on top of their spot market holdings.

“My thought is that the selling volume on April 23 came from traders generating income against a long position,” Magadini told CoinDesk. “Each option sold for about $60 at 100% implied volatility.”

Selling higher strike OTM call options and collecting premium while holding a long position in the spot market is a popular yield-generating strategy in both crypto and traditional markets.

DEVCON VI: TICKET SALES BEGIN & MORE! https://earlybirdsinvest.com/devcon-vi-ticket-sales-begin-more/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/devcon-vi-ticket-sales-begin-more/#respond Sun, 04 May 2025 07:14:49 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/devcon-vi-ticket-sales-begin-more/

Amigos y amigas!

Today, we want to bring everyone a few details on the ticketing process in advance of Monday’s launch, and we have updates on supporter, volunteer, and discount-ticket applications. As the icing on the cake, we’ll also introduce you to the Devcon Community Hubs!

But first, we hope you’ve heard about the pre-sale of Devcon VI tickets in the Auction & Raffle, and maybe even placed a bid. If not, you have one final day to enter to win a ticket to Devcon VI by placing a minimum bid of 0.25 ETH. The Auction closes on July 14, 07:59 UTC.

All participants that don’t have the 20 highest bids will end up in the Raffle to potentially win one of 80 Devcon VI tickets at the price of 0.25 ETH each (~50% off the regular price)!

TICKET SALES BEGIN! 🎟

Now we have more news for you: Wave 01 of general admission Devcon tickets will go online on July 18, first at 16:00 UTC and again at 23:00 UTC.

Ticket sales will go online here at the times listed above.

Waves have been a bit of a rush in the past, but we’ve made changes to work toward a smoother process with multiple timezone options — something that helped many Devconnect attendees!

To ensure more people a fair chance to attend Devcon, ticket purchases are limited to 2 tickets per order, and there will be more ticketing waves to come following next week’s release.

Ready? Set your alarms and head over to the Devcon.org Ticketing Page when the wave opens!

Builder, Students & Volunteers 👷

As always, we’re working on making Devcon accessible to more people.

More than two thirds of Devcon tickets are (still) either discounted or free and geared toward builders and students among other groups.

We opened builder, student, and volunteer applications way ahead and are working through applications. You can still apply to help as a volunteer or for builder or student discounts.

Closing Supporter Applications 📝

We were excited to announce this year’s Supporter Program in lieu of traditional sponsorships. Instead of sponsoring the event, aligned groups are invited to contribute to donations to Ethereum public goods and as a thank you, they’ll receive Supporter tickets to Devcon VI.

We owe a big thank you to all groups who have already committed to contributing via the Supporter Program and thereby helping grow the Ethereum ecosystem.

We’ve been putting some effort into reviewing all of the groups who have applied to participate in the Devcon Supporters Program, and while we’re still in the reviewing process, (thanks for the patience to everyone still waiting!) we are closing the Supporters applications to new submissions on July 18, 16:00 UTC.

Each year, we try to make Devcon a more holistic experience, and alongside this, make Devcon more decentralized, community-driven and playful. We’re trying to reach this with different initiatives, for example with the Devcon Improvement Proposals (DIPs), with events happening around Devcon organized by aligned groups of the ecosystem, and by adding extra sparkles besides the main programming, like art exhibitions, hacker spaces, and now Community Hubs.

Community Hubs are physical spaces that we want to allocate to dedicated groups from the Ethereum community free of charge, and leave it up to them to organize, facilitate and be responsible for what happens in the Hubs throughout the course of the whole conference.

Community Hubs will be marketing-free, tech or community-focused, dedicated to a specific cause or topic, and they should bring benefit for all Devcon attendees.

We opened a request for proposals (RFP) for Community Hubs!
If you are a community, initiative or interest group, interested in contributing to Devcon VI, head over to the Devcon Forum and apply to get allocated a Community Hub area. You find a full description of the Community Hubs and instructions on how to apply in the RFP.

TL;DR

  • Enter to win in the Auction & Raffle and place a bid before July 14, 07:59 UTC.
  • Secure general admission tickets in Wave 01 starting on July 18, 16:00 UTC & 23:00 UTC.
  • Supporter applications close on July 18, 16:00 UTC. Apply here.
  • Communities, initiatives and interest groups can make a proposal for a Community Hub.

Stay tuned for the next ticket releases, as well as the first news on speakers and programming here on the Blog or on Twitter.

With just five months to go, we are entering the hot phase before Devcon! The Supporter Program, Impact Forum, and Devcon Scholars have already launched, bringing us closer to the Devcon ticket launch.

Today we are sharing the details on how to get your Devcon tickets. Additionally, we are releasing the programming tracks for Devcon SEA!

TL;DR:
We have two major updates for you today!

  1. Programming tracks are live
  2. Ticketing types and timelines are live

🎤 Programming Timeline & Tracks

Speaker applications will open on July 9. You can check out the different programming tracks now.

Devcon covers topics and themes that are crucial in the Ethereum ecosystem right now, addressing challenges, ongoing developments, and core Ethereum values. The tracks will feature talks, workshops, panels, and more from beginner to expert level.

  • Core protocol: Researchers and developers, for over 10 years, have worked on building and improving Ethereum to be as decentralized, resilient, and secure of a protocol as possible. What are the latest research findings, EIPs slated for implementation, and suggestions for the roadmap?
  • Layer 2: Ethereum is scaling into a fast-paced rollup-centric ecosystem ready to onboard billions. Since blobs arrived in March of this year, what is left to do to scale Ethereum to the billions?
  • Developer Experience: Developing on Ethereum is easier than ever; what are the latest tools and best practices for developers? How do we make it even better?
  • Coordination: How can we use Ethereum to improve how we coordinate on the Internet?
  • Cypherpunk & Privacy: What are the values that make Ethereum special, why are they important for society, and how are we making it Cypherpunk again?
  • Applied Cryptography: Cryptography is the backbone of crypto, and primitives such as ZKP, MPC, FHE, and more are advancing rapidly — how can we apply these primitives to achieve real-world use cases that were previously not possible?
  • Security: Our ecosystem has become much better at preventing hacks and attacks, but there is room to improve. What are the latest security best practices, recommendations, and tools to make Ethereum applications even more secure?
  • Real World Ethereum: Ethereum reached a level of maturity that allows us to build concrete applications that can achieve long-term positive impact — what types of applications can we build using Ethereum and what are tips on building them?
  • Usability: Mass adoption will not happen without good UX. How are we improving the UX of Ethereum, L2s and applications?
  • Cryptoeconomics: Cryptoeconomics is a nascent field that allows us to build robust decentralized networks with strong incentives for participants, in complex environments. What are the latest research findings and best practices in this field?

Check out our website for more information on programming at Devcon 7 in SEA.

🎟 Ticket Timeline & Types

This year, we’re working to make Devcon more accessible than ever before.

Tickets to Devcon 7 will be available through three distinct ways:

  • Raffle-Auction Ticket Wave (June 18 – July 9)
    $299
  • DiscountsSelf-claimed & Application-based (Open July 9)
    Price varies
  • General Admission Sale Waves (Beginning July 16)
    $599

For more information on each of the above, read below.

Raffle-Auction Ticket Wave

Like we did for Devcon VI, we’ll again be featuring an on-chain Raffle-Auction as our first wave of tickets. We want to continue demonstrating the power of Ethereum to host provably fair and verifiable Raffles & Auctions, while increasing the methods we use to distribute tickets to the many thousands that want to attend each year.

204 tickets will be offered in the Raffle-Auction this year. The highest 20 bids will win the Auction. Those who enter with the Minimum Bid or do not win in the auction will enter into the raffle and have a chance at winning one of 184 Devcon tickets being distributed. In this sense, we aim for the distribution outcome to be approximately 10% efficient and 90% fair.

A big thanks to the Fairy & Archblock teams for dedicating their time to the success of this year’s iteration.

Participation Rules

Network — Arbitrum

Minimum Bid — 0.08 ETH (equal to the $299 price of a discounted Builder Ticket at the time of publication).

All proceeds from the Auction above the reserve price will be used to help people attend Devcon through funding programs like the EF Next Billion Scholars program and other Devcon initiatives. If you bid above the reserve price but do not win in the auction, you will automatically be funneled into the Raffle for a ticket. If you win the Raffle, you will be able to withdraw all funds above the Reserve price. If you do not win in either the Raffle or Auction, you will be able to withdraw all of your funds. Like last time, one lucky winner will receive a free Golden Ticket to Devcon & will be able to withdraw all of their funds.

Sybil-Resistance

This year, we are using Gitcoin Passport to add a secure sybil-resistance mechanism to the Raffle-Auction. You will need to log into your Passport OR create one & validate your stamps in order to participate in this year’s Raffle-Auction ticket wave.

Timeline

Bidding Window — June 18 – July 9
Claiming Window — July 9 – 31
