Dogecoin begins the new trading week in an unusually precarious spot on its higher‑time‑frame chart: technically triumphant, yet visibly stretched. A cluster of weekly studies shared by pseudonymous market technician Cantonese Cat shows the meme‑coin pressing into resistance after an abrupt two‑week rally that added roughly 80 percent from the June lows. The analyst cautions that the move, though structurally bullish, may require a brief pullback to consolidate before further gains.

Dogecoin Overextended?

On the logarithmic Fibonacci retracement drawn across the 2024–25 range, last week’s candle managed to close marginally above the 0.618 level at $0.262 — a zone that has capped every breakout attempt since January. The close was technically significant: in classical market geometry, recapturing the 61.8 percent retrace often signals a transition from recovery to trend expansion.

Related Reading

“It broke above the 0.618 log fib which can use a bullish back‑test,” Cantonese Cat observed, adding that a return to that same area “would flush back down to back‑test” the double‑bottom that formed around $0.15 earlier in the quarter.

The Bollinger‑Band panel underscores the risk of near‑term mean‑reversion. Dogecoin’s weekly close at $0.267 is the first in eleven months to settle outside the upper band, which currently sits near $0.262. Such closes are rare on a high‑time‑frame chart and are typically followed by at least one candle that re‑enters the bands.

“It’s above the Bollinger band,” the analyst notes. Historically, Dogecoin has struggled to maintain altitude when that spread becomes extreme, often retreating to the middle band — now near $0.19 — or, in stronger cycles, to the upper band itself on the subsequent week.

The Ichimoku snapshot tells a similar story of progress meeting inertia. Price has vaulted both the conversion line (Tenkan‑sen) and the baseline (Kijun‑sen), confirming bullish momentum on those metrics, but remains pinned beneath the underside of the weekly cloud. The Senkō Span B that defines that lower cloud boundary sits around $0.28–$0.29, almost exactly where Dogecoin stalled on the final trading day of last week.

Related Reading

Cantonese Cat labels that area “Ichimoku cloud resistance” and warns that until a decisive close pierces the cloud, the level should be treated as supply. A brief dip, therefore, would allow the Kijun‑sen (roughly $0.23) and the 0.618 Fibonacci level to compress into a confluence that could provide the next higher low.

Supporting that idea is the supply‑demand band highlighted in grey on the fourth chart. It spans approximately $0.24 to $0.25 and corresponds to the base of February’s breakdown range. In chart‑pattern terms, the area acts as the neckline of the double‑bottom Cantonese Cat references.

A retracement into that former resistance‑turned‑support could satisfy both the Fibonacci back‑test requirement and the Bollinger re‑entry, while leaving the broader reversal structure intact. The analyst sketches exactly that path on the chart: a pullback into the grey zone, followed by a renewed advance toward the mid‑$0.30s.

Importantly, none of these observations undermine the longer‑term shift in market structure. The double‑bottom around $0.15 resolved higher in July with a weekly candle that engulfed eleven weeks of prior supply, signalling a change of control from sellers to buyers. The most recent candles, though smaller, have held every gain from that breakout. As the analyst summarizes: “Overall, these are very bullish developments, even if it dips down early this week to reset some technicals.”

At press time, DOGE traded at $0.277.

This crazy thin foldable embarrasses the Galaxy Z Fold 7 even before its launch https://earlybirdsinvest.com/this-crazy-thin-foldable-embarrasses-the-galaxy-z-fold-7-even-before-its-launch/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/this-crazy-thin-foldable-embarrasses-the-galaxy-z-fold-7-even-before-its-launch/#respond Thu, 03 Jul 2025 09:42:22 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/this-crazy-thin-foldable-embarrasses-the-galaxy-z-fold-7-even-before-its-launch/
Honor Magic V5 thinnest foldable in gold.

TL;DR

  • HONOR has launched the Magic V5 and claims it to be the “world’s thinnest foldable.”
  • The Magic V5 beats the OPPO Find N5, which previously held the thinnest foldable’s title, and will also beat the Galaxy Z Fold 7, given the latter’s rumored thickness is true.
  • The biggest drawback of the HONOR Magic V5 is its limited availability and the low probability of its coming to the US.

In merely half a decade since the first foldable phones started hitting the market, the segment has gotten much crowded and competitive. The relative newness of the category, compared to candy bar phones, leaves room for innovation and ways to make it more acceptable and mainstream. In this pursuit, HONOR has announced the Magic V5, its newest book-style folding phone, with claims to the title of “world’s thinnest foldable.”

The previous champion in this regard was the OPPO Find N5, measuring 8.9mm when shut. HONOR snags the merit by claiming that the Magic V5 measures only 8.8mm when folded. We, as mere humans, wouldn’t be able to tell which of the two is slimmer, but it doesn’t waver from HONOR’s claim.

When opened, the Magic V5 is 4.1mm thin, which, again, is negligibly smaller than the Find N5. Incidentally, the V5’s dimensions also prove its claim against the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to be 8.9mm and 4.2mm when folded and unfolded, respectively. Of course, it might change when Samsung officially launches the foldable phones next week.

The phone comes in four colors: Dawn Gold, Silk Road Dunhuang, Velvet Black, and Warm White, the last of which also weighs the least out of the bunch. Besides the white one that weighs 217g, the others measure 222g on the scale.

Despite its slimness, HONOR’s foldable features slightly smaller inner and outer displays than counterparts from OPPO and Samsung. The inner screen measures 7.95 inches diagonally (versus 8.12 inches on the Find N5), while the outer display measures 6.43 inches. Both of these are OLEDs with a 120Hz refresh rate. HONOR says these displays attain a peak brightness of 5,000 nits while playing HDR content and support high pulse-wave modulation (PWM) frequencies to ensure your eyes feel less stressed when using the phone in low light.

The HONOR Magic V5 is also stocked well in terms of specifications, running a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, complemented by HONOR’s self-designed E2 chip for better energy efficiency. There are storage options up to a terabyte, while 12GB and 16GB RAM options are offered based on the storage configurations. Powering the HONOR Magic V5 is a 6,100mAh battery, which can be recharged at 66W using a wired charger and 50W with a proprietary wireless charger.

The triple cameras on the back include two 50MP sensors for the primary and ultrawide-angle shooters and a 64MP periscope telephoto for long-range shots. Both screens come with 20MP cameras for selfies and video calling. All of these cameras, including the front-facing ones, support 4K video recording.

The Magic V5 comes with Android 15 and HONOR’s MagicOS 9, which features a host of generative AI features powered by DeepSeek.

The one aspect where the HONOR Magic V5 loses out to competitors is its availability, which is currently limited to China. Considering the previous foldable, Magic V3, was available more widely in parts of Asia and Europe, we can expect the same of V5 too. The Magic V3 was unveiled at the IFA trade show in Berlin last year, which is where we could see the V5 debut as well this year.

The Magic V5’s pricing starts at CNY 8,999 or roughly $1,250, though it can’t be used as a parameter to gauge prices for international markets, where Chinese products are usually more expensive than direct conversions.

Bitcoin liquidity moves to non-KYC exchanges as US reserves thin https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-liquidity-moves-to-non-kyc-exchanges-as-us-reserves-thin/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-liquidity-moves-to-non-kyc-exchanges-as-us-reserves-thin/#respond Fri, 13 Jun 2025 04:13:24 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-liquidity-moves-to-non-kyc-exchanges-as-us-reserves-thin/ During Bitcoin’s climb to a new ATH above $111,000 in late May, a silent but measurable reshuffling has occurred in the market: more BTC is now held on offshore exchanges than on regulated platforms in the US, and volumes are steadily leaking from KYC-compliant venues.

Data from CryptoQuant shows that the market embraced institutional inflows in 2025 without abandoning its historical preference for flexible custody and low-friction trading platforms.

At the center of this reallocation is the exchange reserve ratio, a measure comparing the amount of BTC held on different types of exchanges. As of June 11, the reserve ratio between KYC and non-KYC exchanges had fallen to 1.33, down from 1.46 at the end of December.

That 9.1% drawdown reflects a broader trend of liquidity quietly migrating out of regulated venues, despite the rollout of spot Bitcoin ETFs in January and the subsequent inflows they generated.

The same pattern appears when comparing reserves on US-domiciled exchanges to offshore venues. For the first time in years, offshore exchanges hold more BTC than their US counterparts, with the US/offshore reserve ratio flipping negative on Jan. 1 and falling to -0.22 by mid-June.

The pace of this decline has remained steady throughout Bitcoin’s rally in the first quarter and the subsequent consolidation in the second quarter, with little evidence that the landmark approval of ETFs last year or the repeal of SAB 121 meaningfully reversed the trend.

Volume patterns reinforce this shift. Daily spot trading volume on KYC-compliant platforms fell by 18.6% between January and June, dropping from an average of $424,700 worth of BTC per day to $345,800. Non-KYC exchanges also experienced a slowdown, with average volumes down 15.3%, but their share of total spot activity rose from 12.8% to 14.5%. This subtle increase suggests a rising tolerance (or preference) for trading outside of traditional regulatory frameworks.

Bitcoin Trading Volume (KYC VS. Non-KYC)

The divergence between price and reserve activity raises key structural questions. Bitcoin’s price appreciation has not coincided with a renewed inflow of reserves to US or KYC venues. In fact, reserve levels and price data are only weakly correlated: the KYC/Non-KYC ratio shows a daily correlation of just +0.05 with Bitcoin’s close price, while the US/Offshore ratio clocks in at +0.03. This lack of correlation implies that these shifts are not simply reactions to market gains but part of a deeper realignment in market behavior.

Offshore exchanges, particularly those based in jurisdictions with laxer identity verification requirements, continue to appeal to both high-frequency market makers and retail users seeking more anonymity or more lenient trading terms. The lower fees and broader token access typical of these platforms also play a role, especially as arbitrage and delta-neutral strategies return on the back of an expanding options market.

While ETF flows have been net positive year-to-date, they have not been accompanied by a sustained accumulation of reserves on US exchanges. Instead, reserves have remained flat or declined, showing that much of the ETF-related buying is routed directly through authorized participants who tap into existing liquidity. It also shows that this buying failed to create meaningful demand for spot acquisition on exchanges.

This points to a paradox: the very infrastructure built to legitimize and integrate Bitcoin into US financial markets may be accelerating the drain of custody and trading activity away from US platforms. ETFs offer easy exposure to price but decouple that exposure from the underlying coin movement that once helped anchor that liquidity in the US.

The resilience of non-KYC and offshore activity could create significant changes in the market. A rising share of trading volume outside traditional compliance rails may complicate enforcement actions, distort volume-based metrics, and challenge assumptions about the centrality of US platforms in driving price discovery.

However, the data shows that Bitcoin’s adoption as a financial instrument hasn’t tampered too much with its decentralized nature. Even amid surging institutional interest and record-breaking ETF flows, custody and liquidity preferences are drifting toward the path of least resistance. The US might remain a key entry point for fiat capital, but Bitcoin’s trading reach continues to stretch outward, beyond borders, and increasingly beyond the reach of regulators.

Trump's Official Memecoin Surges Despite Massive $320 Million Unlock in Thin Holiday Trading https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trumps-official-memecoin-surges-despite-massive-320-million-unlock-in-thin-holiday-trading/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trumps-official-memecoin-surges-despite-massive-320-million-unlock-in-thin-holiday-trading/#respond Sat, 19 Apr 2025 16:25:42 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/trumps-official-memecoin-surges-despite-massive-320-million-unlock-in-thin-holiday-trading/

TRUMP, the memecoin tied to U.S. President Donald Trump, gained more than 9% in the past 24 hours following a $320 million token unlock. The price now sits around $8.40, still down more than 88% from its peak above $71 on Jan. 18.

The recent unlock may spell further trouble for investors, who are estimated to have lost a total of $2 billion after purchasing the token earlier this year.

Token unlocks typically flood the market with new supply and tend to depress prices. But in this case, the market appears to have priced in the release beforehand, potentially explaining the price uptick. Still, the $320 million unlock raises the risk of a large sell-off, especially given TRUMP’s thin liquidity.

Data from CoinMarketCap shows that just $1.3 million could move the token’s price by 2% on major exchanges. The move also comes during the Easter holiday weekend, when trading volumes are subdued and price swings can be more pronounced.

On social media, rumors are swirling about a possible event for large token holders, supposedly being organized by Trump himself. These claims remain unverified and highly speculative.

Data from Dune analytics shows there are currently 636,000 TRUMP token holders on-chain, with just 12,285 wallets having more than $1,000 worth of the cryptocurrency.

US Government Deploys ‘Magic Money Computers’ To Send Payments Out of Thin Air: Elon Musk https://earlybirdsinvest.com/us-government-deploys-magic-money-computers-to-send-payments-out-of-thin-air-elon-musk/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/us-government-deploys-magic-money-computers-to-send-payments-out-of-thin-air-elon-musk/#respond Mon, 17 Mar 2025 23:55:38 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/us-government-deploys-magic-money-computers-to-send-payments-out-of-thin-air-elon-musk/

The US government relies on a network of computers to generate payments out of thin air, including some transactions that remain entirely undocumented, according to Elon Musk.

In a new interview on Senator Ted Cruz’s Verdict podcast, Musk says the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has now discovered about 14 “magic money” computers.

Musk tells Cruz that these computers are responsible for sending trillions of dollars in payments.

“I call a magic money computer any computer that can make money out of thin air. It just issues payments… They just send money out of nothing.”

Musk says about 5-10% of the payments executed by these computers are not reported to Senators in Congress.

“You may think that the government computers all talk to each other. They synchronize. They add up what funds are going somewhere and it’s coherent, and that the numbers that you’re presented as a Senator are actually the real numbers. One would think. They’re not.”

Musk says DOGE has discovered these computers at the Treasury Department, State Department, Health and Human Services Department and the Defense Department.

According to Musk, the government’s systems make it tough to reconcile payments and tackle waste and fraud.

“If you want to know what what the situation is with the accounting and you’re trying to reconcile accounting and get rid of waste and fraud, you must be able to analyze the computer databases. Otherwise you can’t figure it out.

Because what you’re doing is asking a human – who will then ask another human – and finally usually ask some contractor – who will ask another contractor – to do a query on the computer.

So it’s many layers deep. The only way to reconcile the databases and get rid of waste and fraud is to to actually look at the computers and see what’s going on.

When I sort of cryptically refer to reprogramming The Matrix, you have to understand what’s going at the computers. You have to reconcile the computer databases in order to identify the waste and fraud.”

The Galaxy S25 Edge makes its video debut showing off how thin it is and what’s inside https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-galaxy-s25-edge-makes-its-video-debut-showing-off-how-thin-it-is-and-whats-inside/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-galaxy-s25-edge-makes-its-video-debut-showing-off-how-thin-it-is-and-whats-inside/#respond Sun, 23 Feb 2025 01:02:24 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-galaxy-s25-edge-makes-its-video-debut-showing-off-how-thin-it-is-and-whats-inside/
Galaxy S25 Edge leak YouTube video

TL;DR

  • A YouTube video shows what appears to be a working Galaxy S25 Edge, giving us a first real look at the device.
  • The phone looks only slightly thicker than the unfolded Galaxy Z Fold 6, suggesting it could be under 6mm thin.
  • The video confirms key specs, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12GB/256GB storage, and a 4,000mAh battery.

With smartphone brands leaning into incremental upgrades over the years, the industry has been searching for its next big selling point, and making phones thinner seems to be the answer for now. While the Galaxy S25 series received a somewhat lukewarm response at its recent launch, Samsung made sure to tease an upcoming device, the Galaxy S25 Edge, during its Unpacked event — perhaps in an effort to inject some excitement into its flagship lineup. Now, thanks to a new video, we have our first real look at the device in action. (h/t: Sammobile)

YouTuber Alexis Garza managed to get their hands on what appears to be a fully functional Galaxy S25 Edge and shared a short demo of the device. While the video is in Spanish, it offers some valuable insights into what Samsung is cooking up.

Garza’s video compares the S25 Edge to the unfolded Galaxy Z Fold 6, which measures 5.6mm in thickness when unfolded. The S25 Edge looks only slightly thicker in the video, which means it could be under 6mm thick, a significant reduction compared to the standard Galaxy S25’s 7.2mm thickness.

Beyond its slim profile, the video also gives us a look at some of the phone’s hardware, courtesy of the AIDA64 app running on the device. According to the app, the Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, backed by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Other confirmed details include Bluetooth 5.4 support and a 4,000mAh battery, which is significantly smaller than what you’d expect on flagship Android phones but at least on par with the smallest Galaxy S25.

The AIDA64 app also reports three 12MP cameras, but the phone only has two rear lenses, suggesting that the third sensor is the selfie camera. While a 12MP ultrawide sensor is expected, it would be unusual for Samsung to use a 12MP primary camera. However, AIDA64 displays the resolution at which images are saved rather than the sensor’s full megapixel count. That means the primary sensor could still be the rumored 50MP or even the 200MP option, utilizing pixel binning to capture 12MP shots.

As for when we’ll see the Galaxy S25 Edge officially launch, Samsung is keeping quiet for now. There’s speculation that the phone could be unveiled alongside Samsung’s next-generation foldables, likely in July. If Samsung is eager to push its ultra-thin phone into the spotlight, we may see it debut even sooner.
