Binance announced on September 10 that the project will focus on simplifying how these new types of assets are managed and exchanged.

Franklin Templeton will be responsible for ensuring these tokens follow legal requirements and function like existing financial products. Meanwhile, Binance will provide access to global users and trading infrastructure.

Roger Bayston, who leads digital asset efforts at Franklin Templeton, said the goal is to make this type of tokenized finance more practical for everyday use, especially for settling trades and building portfolios.

He also stated that partnering with Binance will enable them to create tools that meet the needs of global financial markets.

Sandy Kaul, Franklin Templeton’s head of innovation, shared her view that tokenization has become more accepted in traditional finance. Rather than replacing old systems, Kaul said blockchain could help improve them.

She pointed to the firm’s Benji Platform as an example of how tokenization can be used in a regulated way while still offering new benefits.

Recently, a group of international regulators and exchange associations asked the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to take a stance on tokenized stocks. What did they say? Read the full story.

VivoPower International’s electric-vehicle arm, Tembo, will start accepting Ripple USD (RLUSD) for payments, a move that could change how the company handles cross-border deals, a press release confirmed.

According to the company, the stablecoin will be used to speed up payments and cut the fees usually tied to bank wires.

Tembo Adopts RLUSD For Global Payments

Tembo serves clients in mining, agriculture, military, construction and humanitarian work. Many of those customers are in developing regions where bank transfers are slow and costly.

Based on reports, RLUSD can move value near-instantly across borders and at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. That is the main reason VivoPower gave for the change.

The Vehicles And The Services Around Them

Tembo builds electric utility vehicles designed for both on-road and tough off-road tasks. The fleet is aimed at jobs where reliability matters more than style.

Charging, financing, battery swaps and even microgrids are offered alongside the vehicles. Those services are now available to be paid for in RLUSD, which could make transactions simpler for local dealers and international buyers alike.

Ripple Partnerships And Market Moves

Reports have disclosed that RLUSD’s market capitalization rose roughly 10-fold since January. Ripple has been extending RLUSD’s reach through tie-ups with firms such as Chipper Cash, Yellow Card and VARL, and it recently rolled RLUSD into the Horizon RWA market owned by Aave.

Those moves are being watched closely by firms that handle cross-border trade. Adoption in Africa, parts of Southeast-Asia and the Middle East is reported to be growing.

VivoPower’s Broader XRP Strategy

VivoPower has been clear that this is more than a single payment option. The company said it is shaping itself into what it calls an XRP-focused digital asset enterprise.

Holdings in XRP and equity in Ripple Labs are being added to the corporate portfolio. Some of those assets are being held for treasury purposes.

Other parts are planned to support decentralized finance infrastructure and real-world blockchain use cases connected to Tembo’s business.

Implications For Treasury, Liquidity And Local Markets

Market observers have pointed to links with institutional sponsors like Doppler Finance, suggesting RLUSD could play roles beyond payments — for liquidity management and corporate treasury planning.

If that happens, the stablecoin may be used as a bridge between fiat rails and DeFi tools in places where traditional banking is weak.

Vendors and partners in regions where Tembo operates could see faster settlements and fewer conversion fees.

Bitcoin taps $111.3K as forecast says 10% dip ‘worst case scenario’ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-taps-111-3k-as-forecast-says-10-dip-worst-case-scenario/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-taps-111-3k-as-forecast-says-10-dip-worst-case-scenario/#respond Sun, 07 Sep 2025 12:59:36 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/bitcoin-taps-111-3k-as-forecast-says-10-dip-worst-case-scenario/

Key points:

  • Bitcoin sees a modest rebound into the weekly candle close, but traders see key resistance overhead.

  • BTC price action risks a much deeper drop if bulls fail to reclaim that resistance zone.

  • Fibonacci analysis hints that such a drop may not pass more than 10%.

Bitcoin (BTC) returned above $111,000 into Sunday’s weekly close as analysis saw “promising” recovery signs.

BTC price “logical” bounce zone near $100,000

Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed BTC/USD gaining around 1% on the day to hit local highs of $111,369.

The pair’s latest dip, which followed US macroeconomic data, saw bulls preserve $110,000 support.

“This is actually promising on $BTC,” crypto trader, analyst and entrepreneur Michaël van de Poppe responded on X.

“It makes a new higher low and holds the support at $110K. Would be great if we crack $112K and fire up the bull run.”

Market participants continued to hold diverging views over short-term BTC price action. Popular trader Cipher X suggested that $112,000 could spark new lows should bulls fail to reclaim it next.

“We either flip $113,000 and pump to new highs, or if we reject here we drop to $100,000,” fellow trader Crypto Tony added on the day, adopting a more categorical perspective based on the weekly chart.

Trader TurboBullCapital referenced the 50-day and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs) at $115,035 and $101,760, respectively, as important levels to watch going forward.

“Lose the $107k area & the downside target becomes the $101k level which also happens to coincide with the MA200,” part of an X post concluded.

“This is a logical area to expect a bounce.”

Bitcoin’s “worst case scenario” coincides with $100,000

As Cointelegraph reported, one theory on longer timeframes involves market makers on exchange order books.

Short sellers and bears, it suggests, could be the victims of manipulation prior to a giant short squeeze event taking the market to new all-time highs. This would echo price action in late 2024.

In the meantime, Fibonacci retracement levels imply a maximum drop of 10%, again based on historical behavior since the end of last year.

“$BTC usually bottoms at 0.382 Fibonacci level. This happened in Q3 2024, Q2 2025 and will probably happen again,” popular trader ZYN observed.

“For anyone wondering how low we can go, 0.382 Fibonacci level is currently around $100K. So the worst case scenario is a 10% drop before a 50% rally above $150,000.”

What you need to know

  • Philips Hue announces partnership with Sonos and its Voice Control feature, bringing hands-free assistance to users for their lighting needs.
  • Users can turn lights on or off with their voice, activate scenes, and alter the brightness and color temperature of devices.
  • Philips Hue also states this update, which will arrive in September, takes user privacy into account, meaning your voice never leaves the device.

Philips Hue is announcing a new partnership and future update that consumers can expect to improve their lighting experience.

In a press release by Philips Hue, the company announced that it has partnered with Sonos to bring its Voice Control to its selection of lighting devices. The post states this integration with Sonos Voice Control will give users the ability to “switch lights on or off, dim or brighten, and activate scenes with their voice.” Regarding lights, the email to Android Central earlier today (Sep 4) states users can adjust the brightness and color temperature of their Philips Hue lights with Voice Control.

This update will also bring smart plug control capabilities via mic-enabled Sonos products.

Philips Hue highlights a privacy-focused update between it and Sonos. The company states your voice is “processed entirely on the device.” It says what you’re saying is not sent to the cloud for processing and that there’s no “recording,” nor is an internet connection required to utilize Voice Control. Nathan Hart, senior product manager at Sonos, adds, “We built Sonos Voice Control to make controlling your music with your voice faster and easier than ever before, all with the privacy of your data staying right on your speaker.”

This update is looking at a September launch in U.S. English and French for users worldwide. However, Philips Hue states Voice Control will skip out on China, and it’s unclear if users in the region will see it in the future.

Sonos had a huge update earlier this year, but for its Ace headphones for the home. The free update in June brought “dual listening” to users watching the same content at home on the TV. Sonos stated users could listen to the same broadcast as audio is “synced” for both parties, thanks to their Sonos Soundbar. Additionally, TrueCinema grabbed more “realism.” The company stated its Ace headphones can “understand” your environment to “perfectly tune” your audio.

Elsewhere, the headphones also grabbed an update for its ANC (active noise cancellation). Now, the Ace headphones will consider the user’s glasses, hair, and hat in “real-time” to better block out sounds that would take you out of your audio content.

OpenAI is making changes to how ChatGPT handles sensitive conversations, including the introduction of parental controls and smarter model routing.

The updates follow recent incidents that raised concerns about ChatGPT’s ability to respond safely when users show signs of distress.

OpenAI has acknowledged that its safety features are not always effective, especially during long chats. A common issue is that ChatGPT tends to agree with whatever users say, rather than redirecting them away from dangerous ideas.

To help prevent future incidents, OpenAI plans to begin automatically switching to more advanced models, such as GPT‑5 Thinking, when signs of distress are detected. This decision will be made by a new real-time system that selects the appropriate model based on the user’s topic of discussion.

The GPT-5 Thinking and o3 models are designed to analyze conversations more deeply before responding, which makes them more careful and less likely to react poorly to risky or harmful prompts.

OpenAI is also rolling out new features for parents and guardians. Families will be able to connect a parent account to a teen’s profile. This will enable parents to customize how ChatGPT interacts with younger users.

Default settings will include filters that ensure responses are suited to a younger audience. There will also be options to turn off memory and chat history.

Recently, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman admitted that the release of GPT-5 did not go as planned. Why? Read the full story.

Kalshi taps influencer to head crypto arm https://earlybirdsinvest.com/kalshi-taps-influencer-to-head-crypto-arm/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/kalshi-taps-influencer-to-head-crypto-arm/#respond Mon, 25 Aug 2025 18:08:50 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/kalshi-taps-influencer-to-head-crypto-arm/

Prediction market platform Kalshi has hired digital assets influencer John Wang as its head of crypto in a move the CEO called “betting on slope.”

In a Monday notice, Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour said the company had hired the 23-year-old New York-based influencer, who dropped out of the University of Pennsylvania “to pursue crypto” in 2024. According to his LinkedIn, Wang worked as a fellow at Paradigm and an intern at Immutable before co-founding blockchain security company Armor Labs in 2022.

“Slope is about high quality thinking, dreaming big, and working mercilessly hard,” said Mansour. “The more time I spent with John, the deeper my conviction grew. I can’t wait for us to tackle the roadmap we are putting together.”

Wang’s position comes while Kalshi is under scrutiny as US lawmakers consider Brian Quintenz’s nomination to chair the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), an agency with regulatory authority over the company.

The CFTC filed an enforcement action against Kalshi in September 2024 while under the Biden administration, but filed a motion in May to drop the case while under President Donald Trump.

Political motivation for platform offering election betting?

Wang, as the new head of crypto, suggested that prediction markets could make people more engaged “politically, financially, culturally,” citing his experience monitoring bets over the 2024 US presidential election:

“As an Australian, I can’t vote in the US elections. But prediction markets changed the way I experienced them. In that moment it clicked: this is how society will process truth. Not through punditry or biased takes, but through markets that transform belief into something tangible.”

Though launched in 2021, activity on Kalshi surged ahead of the 2024 US elections, for which the platform offered many options for users to bet. Though the CFTC filed for a temporary injunction to block Kalshi from listing political event contracts, a court ruled in October — one month before the federal elections — that the platform could offer such bets.

Kalshi closed a $185 million funding round in June, making the company’s valuation about $2 billion. The funding round and Wang’s hiring followed the platform announcing it would accept Bitcoin (BTC) deposits in April as part of efforts to onboard more crypto-native users.

SOFI TAPS BITCOIN LIGHTNING FOR REMITTANCES: SoFi Technologies will soon allow remittance payments on top of the Bitcoin layer-2 Lightning Network through a partnership with Lightspark, aiming to bring real-time international money transfers to its members. SoFi’s remittance product, which is expected to roll out later this year, will allow users to send U.S. dollars through the SoFi app, with recipients receiving local currency deposits abroad, using Lightspark’s Universal Money Address (UMA). Lightspark’s UMA provides access to a global payment rail designed for speed and scale. Transfers will display upfront exchange rates and fees, addressing longstanding pain points in traditional remittance services. The launch follows SoFi’s reentry into crypto, after halting services in 2023 during its transition to a national bank. Earlier this year, it revealed plans to offer international remittances through blockchain and stablecoins and allow users to invest in crypto. — Jamie Crawley Read more.

BITLAYER ENTERS SOLANA WITH YBTC: Bitcoin DeFi project Bitlayer has partnered with Kamino Finance and Orca to bring its bitcoin-backed token, YBTC, to the Solana ecosystem. This integration is intended to combine Bitlayer’s security with Solana’s speed and scalability, aligning with Bitlayer’s goal of expanding the Bitcoin DeFi sector. It will provide bitcoin holders with native BTC exposure and yield opportunities, said Charlie Hu, co-founder of Bitlayer. YBTC, pegged 1:1 with BTC, is central to Bitlayer’s BitVM bridge, which is designed for trust-minimized bitcoin transfers by eliminating centralized intermediaries. The token serves as a direct representation of users’ locked BTC within the Bitlayer ecosystem, enabling seamless interoperability between Bitcoin and decentralized finance applications. By holding YBTC, Solana users can maximize yields through Kamino’s institutional-grade earn vaults, which provide auto-compounding and optimized BTC-denominated returns, helping assets grow effortlessly. — Omkar Godbole Read more.

VALANTIS ACQUIRES stHYPE: Valantis, a decentralized exchange (DEX) protocol, has acquired Staked Hype (stHYPE), the second-largest liquid staking token (LST) on Hyperliquid. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. stHYPE, which launched as the first LST on HyperEVM, currently holds about $180 million in total value locked (TVL), according to the stHYPE website. Following the deal, stHYPE’s operations, development, and scaling will be managed by Valantis Labs. Addison Spiegel, founder of Thunderhead, the team behind stHYPE, will serve as an advisor to Valantis. Liquid staking has become a central pillar within Hyperliquid’s ecosystem. According to DeFiLlama, liquid staking accounts for more than half of Hyperliquid L1’s $2.26 billion in DeFi TVL. The acquisition builds on Valantis’ earlier launch of LST-specific DEX pools for both stHYPE and hHYPE, which together have attracted nearly $70 million in TVL and processed more than $500 million in trading volume. — Oliver Knight Read more.

HYPERBEAT GETS $5.2M IN SEED: Hyperbeat, a protocol powering yield infrastructure on the Hyperliquid decentralized exchange, has closed a $5.2 million oversubscribed seed round co-led by ether.fi Ventures and Electric Capital. The raise will be used to build out their yield infrastructure for traders, protocols, and institutions that are tapped into the Hyperliquid ecosystem. The round also drew investments from Coinbase Ventures, Chapter One, Selini, Maelstrom, Anchorage Digital, and community backers via the HyperCollective. Hyperbeat serves as the native yield layer for Hyperliquid, building permissionless financial infrastructure that allows anyone to earn, stake, and spend directly from their on-chain portfolio. It unlocks yield generated by Hyperliquid’s funding rates—previously accessible only to sophisticated market participants—and packages it into simple, tokenized vaults. The news of the seed raise comes as Hyperliquid’s total value locked surpasses $2.1 billion, and as institutions are starting to develop greater interest in its ecosystem. — Margaux Nijkerk Read more.

Regulatory and Policy

  • The crypto industry is mounting a counteroffensive against Wall Street bankers’ bid to rewrite the U.S.’ new stablecoin law, arguing that attempts to roll back core provisions of the GENIUS Act would tilt the field toward traditional banks. In a letter to Senate Banking Committee leaders dated Aug. 19, the Crypto Council for Innovation and the Blockchain Association urged lawmakers to reject proposals from the American Bankers Association, Bank Policy Institute and state banking groups that called for stripping out Section 16(d) of the law and banning yield programs offered by affiliates of stablecoin issuers. Section 16(d) allows subsidiaries of state-chartered institutions to conduct money transmission across state lines in support of stablecoin issuer activities, ensuring holders can redeem their tokens nationwide without needing separate state licenses. Banking groups warned earlier this month that allowing state-chartered, uninsured institutions to issue stablecoins and operate nationwide would amount to regulatory arbitrage, bypassing state licensing regimes. — Sam Reynolds Read More
  • The U.S. Federal Reserve’s newest vice chair who supervises Wall Street banking, Michelle Bowman, made a crypto speech on Tuesday that could have been uttered by one of the industry’s own policy wonks, advocating that banks get behind the digital assets surge and that the Fed give the sector rules that won’t get in crypto’s way. At the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, Bowman warned banks that don’t embrace the shift toward crypto “will play a diminished role in the financial system more broadly,” and she further underlined what’s already been an obvious change in crypto sentiment from U.S. banking regulators. “Your industry has already experienced significant frictions with bank regulators applying unclear standards, conflicting guidance, and inconsistent regulatory interpretations,” she said. “We need a clear, strategic regulatory framework that will facilitate the adoption of new technology, recognizing that in some cases, it may be inadequate and inappropriate to apply existing regulatory guidance to address emerging tech.” — Jesse Hamilton Read more.

Visa continues its journey into the ever-evolving world of cryptocurrency and blockchain, adding support for more coins and chains to boost its versatility.

Meanwhile, stablecoins remain one of the leading trends in adoption during this year.

A Bit of Everything

In a press release shared with investors, Visa, the world’s second-largest card payment organization, announced that it’s adding support for two additional USD-backed stablecoins, two blockchains, and the euro-backed EURC.

The company has partnered with Paxos, which will bring two additional stablecoins to its roster – the Global Dollar (USDG) and PayPal USD (PYUSD).

In addition to already supporting the Ethereum and Solana blockchains, the new additions include Stellar and Avalanche. Moreover, the variety of stablecoins increases with the inclusion of Circle’s stablecoin, EURC.

“Visa is building a multi-coin and multi-chain foundation to help meet the needs of our partners worldwide,” said Rubail Birwadker, Global Head of Growth Products and Strategic Partnerships. “We believe that when stablecoins are trusted, scalable, and interoperable, they can fundamentally transform how money moves around the world.”

The firm’s network has now integrated a total of four stablecoins and four blockchains, following years of real-world pilots and partnerships.

One notable example is their union with Bridge earlier this year, part of Stripe, which enables stablecoin-linked Visa cards to be used at any merchant location in Latin America that accepts them. Bridge deducts the needed funds and converts them to local fiat, essentially mimicking regular transactions.

A Driving Force

There’s no denying that stablecoins have become a staple in institutions adopting cryptocurrency, as their market cap has doubled since the start of last year, according to current data from DefiLlama, now standing at over $265 billion.

According to the Ivy Analytics platform, 90% of businesses in 2025 have tested or used stablecoins, primarily for reducing cross-border payment costs and liquidity management.

The GENIUS Act, which was signed into law last month, introduced regulatory frameworks and provided assurance for corporations, governments, and everyday investors.

Major U.S. banks, including JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and Citi, among others, have publicly shared their ideas for exploring or incorporating stablecoins into their everyday operations.

President Donald Trump has nominated Eric Tung, a corporate lawyer known for his work with cryptocurrency companies, for a seat on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

The nomination was sent to the Senate on July 15 for consideration. The Ninth Circuit covers several western states, including California, Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii, where many technology and cryptocurrency businesses are based.

Tung has been a partner at the law firm Jones Day since 2019. Court filings revealed that he worked with the Blockchain Association in its lawsuit against the US Treasury Department, which was brought by six Tornado Cash users after the department sanctioned the platform.

According to a public statement on July 17, the group said:

Tung has built his career representing crypto firms seeking to avoid government regulation. He served as counsel for a stablecoin provider in a brief arguing standalone sales of stablecoins are not securities.

Accountable.US explained that Tung previously worked on a legal brief for the Blockchain Association opposing rules on permanent smart contracts.
