Just in time for Wimbledon, Web3 platform Sweet has launched Flappy Racquet, the latest title in its SCOR on Sweet mini-app ecosystem. It lets fans take control of animated tennis pros and compete for real-world rewards. Available now on Telegram, web, and mobile, the game blends arcade-style action with athlete star power and digital perks.

Key Takeaways

  • Sweet’s Flappy Racquet mini-game launches during Wimbledon, adding tennis-themed arcade fun to the tournament buzz.

  • It features animated versions of top players including Aryna Sabalenka, Nick Kyrgios, Naomi Osaka, and others, each with unique power-ups.

  • Players collect Gems, convertible to $SCOR tokens once live, redeemable for rewards like signed gear and meet-and-greets.

  • Built-in partnership with Winners Alliance to boost athlete visibility and offer new digital engagement for fans.

From the Court to Your Screen

Inspired by the viral Flappy Bird, Flappy Racquet swaps birds for rackets as players tap their way through obstacles using tennis pro avatars. The simple, addictive gameplay challenges players to stay in motion while collecting Gems tied to performance and real-world rewards.

The roster includes stars like Aryna Sabalenka, 2023 Wimbledon champ Marketa Vondrousova, and Nick Kyrgios, known for his showmanship on grass. Each avatar brings special in-game perks when owned by a user, making who you play with part of your strategy.

Timed with Wimbledon, the launch gives fans a new way to stay connected with the tournament—and their favorite players—even when they’re off the court.

Furthermore, Gems earned in-game will be convertible to $SCOR tokens once live, unlocking access to Sweet’s marketplace of rewards, upgrades, and collectibles.

Players can play Flappy Racquet via SCOR on Sweet, alongside other games and features tied to upcoming athlete activations.

Real Rewards, Real Players

The game is backed by Winners Alliance, a global platform that represents group commercial rights for athletes and works with organizations like the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA). Their partnership with Sweet opens up new ways for players to benefit from their likeness—and for fans to interact with them in meaningful ways.

“Our mission has always been to put athletes first, and this collaboration helps us create new value for both players and fans,” said Manny Redruello, VP of Games at Winners Alliance. He noted that SCOR is designed to “celebrate the individual talents of the world’s best tennis players” while driving new visibility and opportunity across the sport.

Sweet CEO Tom Mizzone echoed that sentiment, describing Flappy Racquet as “a mash-up of nostalgia, athlete IP, and real rewards.” He added, “Whether you’re a tennis diehard or just someone who loves a good challenge, this one’s going to hit.”

Sweet’s broader approach is all about building connections between fans and athletes—not just through likes or follows, but through gameplay, rewards, and unique experiences.

Good picks for Windows laptops in the gaming ‘n’ creating sweet spot https://earlybirdsinvest.com/good-picks-for-windows-laptops-in-the-gaming-n-creating-sweet-spot/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/good-picks-for-windows-laptops-in-the-gaming-n-creating-sweet-spot/#respond Sat, 28 Jun 2025 17:00:22 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/good-picks-for-windows-laptops-in-the-gaming-n-creating-sweet-spot/

Looking to consolidate multiple computers into a single device that’s portable but does it all? This inevitably suggests a Windows laptop: I don’t have time to play recent video games, but I might! The problem, of course, is that Windows is such a mess for anything other than games. So it’s inconceivable that I would purchase anything other than a MacBook! At The Verge, Antonio G. Di Benedetto reviews the latest high-end “gaming” laptops and persuades me that it wouldn’t be horrible to do some real work on one of them.

The most important part of any gaming laptop, just like desktop PCs, is the graphics card. Laptop GPUs can’t stack up to full-size cards that reach much higher wattage in desktops, but that doesn’t stop the likes of Nvidia from making things a little confusing with the naming scheme on its RTX brand of GeForce cards. So keep in mind that, for example, an RTX 5090 laptop card doesn’t come anywhere near the performance of a desktop 5090. Desktops may always win out in raw performance, but gaming laptops are a simpler turnkey solution that can easily go places (yes, even the ones that feel like you’re toting around a cinderblock).

NVidia’s GPU branding system is inconsistent and AMD’s is incomprehensible. Looking up how much energy the chips dissipiate is a clue, but you really have to get into the benchmarks to know what’s what. Di Benedetto recommends the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which comes at various levels of grunt and is well-reviewed by other sources. Despite the teen gamer branding, the newer models look sleek and professional. Moreover, it’s very popular, so there’s likely an open-box return knocking around at your local Best Buy and plenty of discussion online.

I think, though, that I like The New York Times’ pick better: the Asus ProArt 16, which also comes in a more-my-size 13-inch form. It has the nice GPU options, but is otherwise designed squarely for doing the creative tasks I tackle. It stands out as a MacBook Pro alternative rather than “gaming laptop that isn’t too embarassing.” I also like that you can irritate people by pronouncing “Proart” as it were an Irish surname, rhyming with “sort.” “Hey, you brought a Proart!”

The Asus ProArt P16 is the first Windows laptop to beat Apple machines’ performance when exporting large 4K videos, and it’s an all-around great laptop for media editing. It has an accurate 4K OLED display, a nice keyboard and speakers, and a control wheel on the trackpad that you can assign to scrub through your Premiere timeline or control specific sliders in other editing software. Its display also has a 120 Hz refresh rate, so motion will seem smoother, and it’s better for some gaming on the side, if that’s your bag. The P16 has more ports than the MacBook Pro as well, adding two extra USB-A ports.

Two big drawbacks hold me back: the battery life is nowhere near Apple Silicon tier, and the 13-inch model has only a 60hz display. I’m fine with that on games (if its 4060 gets 60fps on Ultra at 3200×1800 I’ll be happy) but once you’ve got used to 144hz on the desktop it’s hard to go back. Inmates not gaming or boiling lakes might be interested in the 13-inch ARM model, whose battery life is much better. But I’m not sure I’d take it over a similarly-priced MacBook Air.

• Nvidia hopes 5050 GPUs are an affordable hit
• Nvidia’s RTX 5070 continues to disappoint

Sweet to Launch Crypto Rewards in Telegram Sports Games via TON https://earlybirdsinvest.com/sweet-to-launch-crypto-rewards-in-telegram-sports-games-via-ton/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/sweet-to-launch-crypto-rewards-in-telegram-sports-games-via-ton/#respond Thu, 10 Apr 2025 16:09:42 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/sweet-to-launch-crypto-rewards-in-telegram-sports-games-via-ton/

Sweet, the company behind the official digital collectibles platforms for the National Hockey League (NHL) and Major League Soccer (MLS), is introducing a new rewards system through mini-games on Telegram. The games—Ice Snake and Glove Hero—will allow users to earn in-game gems that can later be exchanged for a new cryptocurrency called $SCOR, which will run on The Open Network (TON).

Although the token has not yet launched, Sweet plans to integrate it across its digital ecosystem, including its licensed platforms for NHL and MLS digital collectibles.

The games are now live on Telegram, but they currently do not include any official sports branding.

What is Sweet?

Sweet is a technology company that operates digital collectible platforms for major sports leagues. It runs NHL Breakaway and MLS Quest, which allow fans to purchase and trade officially licensed NFTs representing players, teams, and moments from each league.

These platforms are part of a growing market of blockchain-based fan engagement tools. Sweet’s latest initiative extends beyond digital collectibles, entering the gaming space with the addition of Telegram-based mini-games.

The two new games—Ice Snake and Glove Hero—are available via the Telegram channel “SCOR on Sweet.” They feature simple mechanics and retro-style visuals and are designed around hockey and football themes. Whilst not officially branded by the NHL or MLS, the games are seen as a first step in exploring interactive formats that could eventually tie into licensed properties.

How to earn $SCOR?

$SCOR is a forthcoming digital token that will operate on The Open Network (TON)—a blockchain initially developed by Telegram’s founding team. Sweet has indicated that $SCOR will eventually be accepted on its licensed collectible platforms and may be used for purchasing NFTs or other digital assets. A teaser video from the company also suggests additional sports-themed games may be in development, covering cricket, baseball, and racing. However, details about the timeline for token availability and further game releases have not been confirmed.

Players can earn in-game gems by participating in the games and whilst these gems are not yet linked to real-world value, they are intended to be convertible into $SCOR once the token goes live.

According to the team, $SCOR will have a total supply of 4 billion tokens. Of this, 44% is set aside for user incentives and rewards. Other portions are allocated to a private sale (21%), early contributors and the team (15%), and various reserves and partners.

Samsung 43 inch M7 4K UHD Smart Monitor Widget Image

These offers are all available from Amazon, and they are labeled as “limited time deals.” This means it’s only a matter of time before the prices bounce back to standard levels.

Samsung Essential S3 (S36GD) Series 27-Inch Monitor

  • Covers the basic needs at a really low price

Let’s start with the most affordable monitor. It’s only $109.99 right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s a lackluster monitor. For starters, this is a pretty sizeable 27-inch monitor. It’s pretty rare to find a monitor of this size at such a low price.

Additionally, this display features a Full HD 1,080p resolution and a 100Hz refresh rate. The latter is also pretty rare to find at such price ranges. Not only that, but this is a 1,800R curved display, which is a pretty nice addition. It even has a Game Mode, which will optimize contrast and colors to give you a gaming edge. It also offers an Eye Saver Mode.

In terms of connectivity, you’ll get an HDMI and a D-sub port. It’s a pretty nice monitor, and we would never imagine it would cost just $109.99.

Samsung M7 Series 43-inch Smart Monitor

  • For those who want a large monitor and a TV replacement

Now, let’s take things up a notch. I like buying things that serve more than one purpose. The Samsung M7 Series 43-inch Smart Monitor can work as a large monitor, but one of its main lures is that it doubles as a TV for chord-cutters.

This monitor has Samsung’s smart TV OS built-in. Additionally, it comes with Samsung Smart TV Plus, which can replace your traditional TV service, as it streams live TV channels. This is important because it has no physical TV tuner, but those of us who rely on internet streaming will love it. It even has access to the Samsung Gaming Hub, so you can stream your games and play with a wireless controller directly connected to the TV.

Because it is meant to replace an actual TV, the display is very large at 43 inches. It also has a 4K UHD resolution, which is amazing to have both for entertainment and for screen real estate, when using it as a monitor. It even comes with a controller so you can use it as a regular TV when lounging, and the remote has a small solar panel, so you won’t have to worry about it dying on you.

This is a higher-end monitor, even if a bit older. This means you’ll also enjoy a nice variety of ports. It has two HDMI ports, a USB-C connection, and three USB-A ports.

This is an outstanding monitor with dual-purpose capabilities. You are pretty much getting two screens in one for a really good price. It happens to be a pretty nice display, too.

Samsung Viewfinity S9 49-inch Curved Ultrawide Monitor

  • Large, ultrawide perspective, with awesome capabilities

I always wanted to get one of those fancy ultrawide, large monitors, but they tend to cost thousands. Things are changing, and the Samsung Viewfinity S9 49-inch Curved Ultrawide Monitor shows me I can now afford a good monitor of this type without emptying my bank account. Well, at least not as much.

This is $749.99, but the original price point is $1,199.99, so you’re saving $450 here. This is also a pretty impressive monitor. It measures 49 inches and has a Dual QHD resolution, which essentially means it’s like placing two QHD monitors side by side. You’re getting a 5,120 x 1,440p resolution. It also has a very smooth 120Hz max refresh rate.

By the way, this one is curved — it has a 1,000R curvature. You’ll also get plenty of ports: two HDMI connections, a DisplayPort, USB-C, multiple USB-A ports, USB-B, and even a LAN connection.

This is quite the monitor!

Make sure to get your monitor sooner rather than later. We’re not sure how long these offers will stick around.

The Market’s Compass Crypto Sweet Sixteen Study https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-markets-compass-crypto-sweet-sixteen-study/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-markets-compass-crypto-sweet-sixteen-study/#respond Thu, 06 Feb 2025 11:50:50 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-markets-compass-crypto-sweet-sixteen-study/

Welcome to this week’s publication of the Market’s Compass Crypto Sweet Sixteen Study #175. The Study tracks the technical condition of sixteen of the larger market cap cryptocurrencies. Every week the Studies will highlight the technical changes of the 16 cryptocurrencies that I track as well as highlights on noteworthy moves in individual Cryptocurrencies and Indexes. As always paid subscribers will receive this week’s unabridged Market’s Compass Crypto Sweet Sixteen Study sent to their registered email*. Past publications including the Weekly ETF Studies can be accessed by paid subscribers via The Market’s Compass Substack Blog.

*In celebration of Groundhog Day, Free subscribers will get a look at this weeks unabridged version today. Unfortunately, Punxsutawy Phil saw his shadow signaling six more weeks of winter. Become a paid subscriber and spend the next six weeks of winter reading The Market’s Compass Crypto Sweet Sixteen Studies.

*An explanation of my objective Individual Technical Rankings go to www.themarketscompass.com. Then go to the MC’s Technical Indicators and select “crypto sweet 16”.

The Excel spreadsheet below indicates the weekly change in the objective Technical Ranking (“TR”) of each individual Cryptocurrency and the Sweet Sixteen Total Technical Ranking (“SSTTR”).

*Rankings are calculated up to the week ending Friday January 31st

After rising 21.11% to 593 three weeks ago the Sweet Sixteen Total Technical Ranking or “SSTTR” fell -6.73% for the second week in a row to 450.5.

Last week all but five of the Sweet Sixteen Crypto TRs fell (one was unchanged) The average Crypto TR loss last week was -2.03 vs. the previous week’s average loss of -6.88. Four ETF TRs ended the week in the “green zone” (TRs between 35 and 50), eleven were in the “blue zone” (TRs between 15.5 and 34.5), and one remained in the “red zone” (Matic Network) vs. the previous week when six TRs were in the “green zone” and nine were in the “blue zone”.

*The CCi30 Index is a registered trademark and was created and is maintained by an independent team of mathematicians, quants and fund managers lead by Igor Rivin. It is a rules-based index designed to objectively measure the overall growth, daily and long-term movement of the blockchain sector. It does so by indexing the 30 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, excluding stable coins (more details can be found at CCi30.com).

A brief explanation of how to interpret RRG charts can be found at The Market’s Compass website www.themarketscompass.com Then go to MC’s Technical Indicators and select Crypto Sweet 16. To learn more detailed interpretations, see the postscripts and links at the end of this Blog.

The chart below has two weeks, or 14 days, of data points deliniated by the dots or nodes. Not all 16 Crypto Currencies are plotted in this RRG Chart. I have done this for clarity purposes. Those which I believe are of higher technical interest remain.

Over the past two weeks both Tron (TRX) and Cosmos (ATOM) have escaped the Lagging Quadrant and have entered the Improving Quadrant. In the case of TRX, it is only one good day on a Relative Strength basis from entering the Leading Quadrant although there was a slowing of Relative Strength Momentum late last week. Ripple (XRP) rolled over in the Leading Quadrant a week ago last Friday and has fallen into the Weakening Quadrant. That weakening of Relative Strength and Relative Strength Momentum was followed by Solana (SOL) and ChainLink (LINK) last week.

The two charts below are longer term line charts of the Relative Strength or Weakness of the Sweet Sixteen Crypto Currencies vs. the CCi30 Index that are charted with a 55-Day Exponential Moving Average in blue and a 21-Day Simple Moving Average in red. Trend direction and crossovers, above or below the longer-term moving average, reveal potential continuation of trend or reversals in Relative Strength or Weakness.

*Friday January 24th to Friday January 31st.

Only three of the Crypto Sweet Sixteen registered absolute gains last week and thirteen lost absolute ground vs. the previous week when four registered absolute gains and tweleve traded lower. The seven-day average absolute price loss was -2.11%, (without the +7.90% gain in Litecoin (LTC) the average loss would have been -2.78%), versus the previous week’s average absolute loss of -5.96%.

*An explanation of my Technical Condition Factors go to www.themarketscompass.com. Then go to the MC’s Technical Indicators and select Crypto Sweet 16.

The DMTCF rose slightly last week from a reading of 33.04% or 37 the week before to 43.75% or 49 out of a possible 112.

As a confirmation tool, if all eight TCFs improve on a week over week basis, more of the 16 Cryptocurrencies are improving internally on a technical basis, confirming a broader market move higher (think of an advance/decline calculation). Conversely, if more of the TCFs fall on a week over week basis, more of the “Cryptos” are deteriorating on a technical basis confirming the broader market move lower. Last week five TCFs fell, and only three rose.

For a brief explanation on how to interpret the Sweet Sixteen Total Technical Ranking or “SSTTR” vs the weekly price chart of the CCi30 Index go to www.themarketscompass.com. Then go to the MC’s Technical Indicators and select Crypto Sweet 16.

The CCi30 Index remains “trapped” in what the bulls should hope is a triangulating consolidation pattern. Although MACD continues to reflect the obvious loss of upside price momentum it remains elevated in positive territory above its signal line but the shorter-term Stochastic Momentum Index continues to track lower after signaling an overbought condition in early January. My Sweet Sixteen Total Technical Ranking (bottom panel) continues to pull back from overbought territory (red dashed line). As I wrote last week, key to the bullish consolidation technical argument case will be that key support at 19,860 holds and prices are able to overtake the trend of lower highs highlighted with red dashed line.

The technical condition of the CCi30 Index on the daily price chart has not changed in a significant way over the past seven days aside from a turn in short-term price momentum as witnessed by the Stochastic Momentum Index and the Fisher Transform retaking the ground above its sinal line. That said, only a rally that advances the Index through key price resistance at the 24,260 level with follow through would suggest that the price action since early December has merely been a period of consolidation prior to new highs.
