Per CryptoQuant’s second September weekly report, Ethereum’s latest uptrend from about $1,400 in April to a high near $5,000 has unfolded alongside heavier allocations in funds and whale accumulation, a pullback in exchange deposits, and activity peaks across transactions, addresses, and smart-contract calls.

Ethereum trades below a realized price band of $5,200 while fund holdings and on-chain use hit records.

The report frames the next phase around whether price can clear the realized price upper band that capped prior advances.

According to CryptoQuant, Ethereum fund holdings, driven largely by U.S. spot ETFs, have reached 6.7 million ETH, nearly double since April. Addresses holding 10,000 to 100,000 ETH added roughly 6 million ETH over the same period, with this cohort now at 20.6 million ETH, a new high.

The “smart money” share embedded in those balances means a material portion of demand is already in place, compressing the room for momentum to do the heavy lifting without fresh flows. The charts on page 2 of the report show both the fund-holding curve and cohort balances making new peaks.

Staking has climbed in parallel.

The total ETH staked stands at around 36.2 million, up by roughly 2.5 million ETH since May. The rising validator count reduces circulating supply and supports a tighter float, yet it also sequesters capital that would otherwise meet new demand if price drifts or volumes thin out.

That mix of lower float and higher commitment from validators helps explain why spot market pressure can ease even when price consolidates.

On-chain throughput has expanded. Total daily transactions peaked at about 1.7 million on August 16, and active addresses reached roughly 800,000 on August 5, both new highs, per the network dashboards. Smart-contract calls surpassed 12 million daily for the first time, marking the heaviest programmatic use of the base layer so far.

Elevated usage across DeFi, stablecoin transfers, and token activity builds fee revenue and reinforces the settlement-layer role that underpins ETH’s cash-flow and utility narratives. If activity cools, volatility often follows as price discovers the correct multiple on lower throughput.

Spot-side supply pressure has eased.

CryptoQuant’s exchange-inflow series shows deposits to centralized venues falling from roughly 1.8 million ETH in mid-August to about 750,000 ETH per day after the early-September price high.

Fewer coins moving to exchanges typically line up with thinner realized selling, which aids stability during retests. Low inflows can also coincide with quieter order books, so prices can travel more on smaller trades if a catalyst lands.

The technical fulcrum is the realized price upper band near $5,200. CryptoQuant plots that level as the region that repelled advances in 2020–2021 and again in early 2024. ETH trades around $4,400 in the report window, so the market sits one step below a threshold with a track record of pausing uptrends.

Clearing that zone would shift trading into territory where realized holders, on average, sit deeper in profit, and where supply forces depend more on whether newer inflows outpace long-dated distribution.

The flow picture offers a simple checklist for the weeks ahead.

Fund holdings are already at a record, so incremental net creations matter more than absolute size. Whale cohorts hold over 20 million ETH, so net additions from this group carry outsized weight versus retail churn.

Staking is at 36 million ETH, so any acceleration or slowdown in validator deposits will change the liquid float at the margin. Exchange inflows are subdued compared with August, so watch whether that series stays compressed or reverts as price revisits prior highs. All four lines are visible across the report’s holdings, staking, network, and inflow charts.

For valuation context, CryptoQuant ties the April-to-September advance to a dual engine of institutional participation and on-chain throughput. That framing pairs the top-down demand capture of ETFs with bottom-up settlement use across DeFi and tokens.

It also leaves room for periods where activity outruns price or vice versa. In those phases, realized bands and exchange-flow gauges help separate consolidation from distribution, especially when positioning is already heavy among large holders.

The near-term setup, therefore, revolves around whether ETH holds its footing into a second attempt at the realized band, with funds, whales, staking, and activity providing most of the signal on whether the cycle keeps its pace or pauses.

According to the report, the realized price upper band near $5,200 remains the level in focus.

Should you wait for the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Gen 3? https://earlybirdsinvest.com/should-you-wait-for-the-ray-ban-meta-smart-glasses-gen-3/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/should-you-wait-for-the-ray-ban-meta-smart-glasses-gen-3/#respond Sun, 07 Sep 2025 19:12:07 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/should-you-wait-for-the-ray-ban-meta-smart-glasses-gen-3/

Looking to pick up a pair of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses this year? You might want to hold off on that decision, as Meta’s annual product conference will kick off on September 17, and we’re expecting the company to unveil new smart glasses.

Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses have been one of Meta’s most successful products to date, garnering tons of attention worldwide and selling millions of units. You may not be aware that these glasses are actually second-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, as the original Ray-Ban Stories weren’t nearly as popular.

Part of the success was greatly improved hardware between the first and second generation, while the other part has been the excitement of Meta AI being built into Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.

Since we’re anticipating Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (Gen 3) to be announced at Meta Connect 2025, my recommendation is to wait and see what Meta will unveil and how much better they might be over Ray-Ban’s current offerings. For now, let’s go over the potential differences based on what we know to help you make a decision now.

Why you can trust Android Central

Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (Gen 3) are expected to come in two main varieties: sunglasses and prescription glasses. The currently available Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are offered in three different traditional Ray-Ban styles, each with a selection of colors and lens types. However, Meta is unable to offer all types of prescriptions due to the frame styles.

Separating prescription and sunglasses styles would likely allow these prescription glasses users to utilize the new generation of smart glasses. If you’ve already taken a look at the available prescription options for Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses and can’t get what you need, you should definitely wait and see what’s available with the new rumored style options.

Folks who are looking to primarily take photos or videos with their smart glasses should also wait to see what upgrades Meta will deliver with the camera on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (Gen 3). The recently released Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses offer a notable camera upgrade for folks recording active video. If you plan to take your smart glasses out for a run, hike, or even while playing sports, waiting for a potential camera upgrade is a good option.

That’s because the higher-resolution camera allows Meta to offer better image stabilization, keeping the video jitter-free and bump-free, almost no matter what you do. We don’t expect any other camera upgrades over what Meta just delivered with Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses, though, but Meta could always surprise us with AI super resolution or something.

Speaking of Meta AI, we’re expecting a big upgrade for Meta AI on all of the company’s upcoming smart glasses. That should include Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (Gen 3), as it’s likely the company will include a new chipset that’s able to do even more than the two-year-old chipset in the current Ray-Ban Meta product.

This upgraded Meta AI is said to be able to provide longer interaction sessions, including additional live AI time with recording storage. Meta AI will be able to pull up data from your personal recordings on request, helping you remember where you left your car keys, the coffee mug, or even someone’s name whom you previously addressed.

Google’s upcoming Android XR-powered smart glasses are also able to perform these functions, and we fully expect any competing Meta smart glasses to be able to do it, too.

What about the price?

Of course, any upgrade discussion isn’t complete without a price. While there are currently no rumors regarding the price of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (Gen 3), we don’t expect Meta to launch them at a wildly different price range than what’s currently available.

At the most, they’ll probably retail for $400-500, just like Oakley Meta HSTN. Meta Hypernova, the other, more advanced smart glasses that we expect to see unveiled at Meta Connect, are rumored to retail for $800, and there’s no expectation that Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (Gen 3) will cost anywhere near that price since they aren’t expected to feature any display technology like the Hypernova.

Still, there’s a high chance that they could be more expensive than the $250-300 price tag you would spend on the current Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, but we’ll have to wait and see. At the least, if Meta does release its new smart glasses before the end of the year, you could always pick up a discounted pair of Gen 2s during this year’s Black Friday sales in November.

Hackers have discovered a new method for spreading malicious software by using Ethereum
ETH

smart contracts to conceal crucial aspects of their attacks.

According to a blog post by Lucija Valentić at ReversingLabs, two suspicious software packages were found on the Node Package Manager (NPM), a platform used to share JavaScript code.

These packages, named “colortoolsv2” and “mimelib2“, were uploaded in July and designed to look like regular tools.

The packages acted like simple downloaders. When someone installed one, it would reach out to the Ethereum blockchain and fetch data from a smart contract. That data contained the location of a second piece of malware, which would then be downloaded and installed.

This made it hard for security systems to flag the packages as harmful, since they did not include any direct links to malicious websites or files.

Valentić explained that while Ethereum contracts have been misused before, this setup was different. In this case, the smart contract did not hold the malware itself, but held the location where it could be found.

The campaign was not limited to NPM. It also involved a fake open-source project hosted on GitHub. Hackers created a fake cryptocurrency trading bot, complete with fake updates, detailed documentation, and several user accounts to make the project seem active and trustworthy.

On September 1, SlowMist’s Yu Xian reported that attackers stole WLFI tokens from Ethereum wallets. How? Read the full story.

What you need to know

  • Philips Hue announces partnership with Sonos and its Voice Control feature, bringing hands-free assistance to users for their lighting needs.
  • Users can turn lights on or off with their voice, activate scenes, and alter the brightness and color temperature of devices.
  • Philips Hue also states this update, which will arrive in September, takes user privacy into account, meaning your voice never leaves the device.

Philips Hue is announcing a new partnership and future update that consumers can expect to improve their lighting experience.

In a press release by Philips Hue, the company announced that it has partnered with Sonos to bring its Voice Control to its selection of lighting devices. The post states this integration with Sonos Voice Control will give users the ability to “switch lights on or off, dim or brighten, and activate scenes with their voice.” Regarding lights, the email to Android Central earlier today (Sep 4) states users can adjust the brightness and color temperature of their Philips Hue lights with Voice Control.

This update will also bring smart plug control capabilities via mic-enabled Sonos products.

Philips Hue highlights a privacy-focused update between it and Sonos. The company states your voice is “processed entirely on the device.” It says what you’re saying is not sent to the cloud for processing and that there’s no “recording,” nor is an internet connection required to utilize Voice Control. Nathan Hart, senior product manager at Sonos, adds, “We built Sonos Voice Control to make controlling your music with your voice faster and easier than ever before, all with the privacy of your data staying right on your speaker.”

This update is looking at a September launch in U.S. English and French for users worldwide. However, Philips Hue states Voice Control will skip out on China, and it’s unclear if users in the region will see it in the future.

Sonos had a huge update earlier this year, but for its Ace headphones for the home. The free update in June brought “dual listening” to users watching the same content at home on the TV. Sonos stated users could listen to the same broadcast as audio is “synced” for both parties, thanks to their Sonos Soundbar. Additionally, TrueCinema grabbed more “realism.” The company stated its Ace headphones can “understand” your environment to “perfectly tune” your audio.

Elsewhere, the headphones also grabbed an update for its ANC (active noise cancellation). Now, the Ace headphones will consider the user’s glasses, hair, and hat in “real-time” to better block out sounds that would take you out of your audio content.

Blockchain technology is widely recognized for bringing transparency and trust to digital transactions. Smart contracts, self-executing lines of code, automate agreements and processes across various industries — finance, supply chain, healthcare, and more. With the popularity of smart contracts reaching new heights, their security emerges as a critical concern. Flaws in code can lead to significant financial losses and reputational damage, making smart contract auditing essential for businesses and organizations.

Smart contracts are digital protocols built to facilitate, verify, or enforce the negotiation of a contract without the need for intermediaries. These contracts automatically execute pre-defined actions when certain conditions are met. They are commonly deployed on platforms like Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Polygon.

However, smart contracts are vulnerable to coding errors and malicious attacks. Even minor bugs can cause contracts to malfunction, leading to loss of funds or data. Security breaches, reentrancy attacks, and improper access controls are some of the well-known problems. For businesses investing in blockchain-based solutions, these risks can threaten trust and operations.

Organizations looking for Smart Contract Development Services must prioritize security from the earliest stages of planning and development. This means not only following best coding practices but also incorporating thorough auditing into the lifecycle of every smart contract.

Smart contract auditing is a process of scrutinizing the code of smart contracts to identify vulnerabilities, logic errors, and compliance gaps. It is typically performed by security professionals or specialized teams using both automated tools and manual review. The objective is to uncover issues before the contract goes live and interacts with real assets or users.

Auditing involves multiple steps:

  • Reviewing the contract’s architecture.
  • Checking code syntax and logic.
  • Testing for edge cases and possible exploits.
  • Verifying that the contract operates according to its intended design.

Without careful auditing, smart contracts can be exploited, sometimes within minutes of deployment.

Traditionally, auditing smart contracts is a labor-intensive process relying on manual inspection and static analysis tools. As the number and complexity of smart contracts increase, traditional methods struggle to keep up. This is where AI-powered auditing enters the picture.

AI systems can analyze large volumes of code more quickly, identify patterns associated with vulnerabilities, and flag potential issues for further investigation. By using algorithms trained on past vulnerabilities and attack methods, AI tools can detect subtle errors that may escape manual review.

Some key benefits of using AI in smart contract auditing:

  • Rapid scanning of codebases.
  • Automatic detection of known threat signatures.
  • Ability to continuously learn from new exploit techniques.
  • Reducing human error during code review.

AI does not entirely replace human expertise but works in tandem with security professionals to strengthen auditing across all stages of smart contract development.

Modern AI-powered auditing platforms often utilize techniques such as natural language processing, machine learning, and semantic analysis. These platforms ingest smart contract code, decode its logic, and compare it against vast datasets of known vulnerabilities.

Some common features of these platforms include:

  • Automated code analysis and pattern recognition.
  • Continuous monitoring of deployed contracts in real-time.
  • Real-time alerts for suspicious transactions or code changes.
  • Visual dashboards that show risk levels and actionable recommendations.

Leading platforms are regularly updated as new threats and exploits are discovered, making them a valuable resource for companies aiming to reduce risk.

Machine learning models are increasingly used in smart contract auditing for their ability to find complex vulnerabilities. These models are trained using large sets of previously audited contracts, labeled according to whether vulnerabilities existed. Over time, the system learns to recognize both obvious bugs and rare edge cases.

For example, supervised learning can be employed to spot logical errors by comparing the intended behavior to the implemented code. Unsupervised learning, meanwhile, may help identify novel attack vectors by analyzing unusual patterns in transaction flows.

Despite its promise, machine learning requires careful tuning and extensive data. False positives and negatives are still possible, necessitating a balanced approach that blends automated and manual inspection.

Security vulnerabilities commonly found in smart contracts include:

  • Reentrancy Attacks: Where malicious actors repeatedly call functions before the initial execution completes, leading to unauthorized withdrawals.
  • Integer Overflow and Underflow: Mistakes in arithmetic can result in values that exceed their intended limits, creating loopholes for attackers.
  • Access Control Issues: Failure to restrict function access allows unauthorized parties to perform critical operations.
  • Logic Errors: Misalignment between contract logic and intended rules.
  • Uninitialized Storage Pointers: Can allow overwrite of contract state or execution of unintended code.
  • Front-running: Exploiting transaction ordering on public blockchains.

AI-powered auditing tools systematically scan contracts for these and other evolving vulnerabilities.

AI-powered auditing tools systematically scan contracts for these and other evolving vulnerabilities.

Blockchain history offers multiple examples of smart contract exploits resulting in loss:

  • The infamous DAO hack in 2016 led to the theft of millions of dollars due to a reentrancy vulnerability.
  • In 2020, dForce suffered an attack exploiting improper use of ERC-777 tokens, resulting in significant financial loss.
  • More recently, several DeFi projects faced flash loan attacks owing to a lack of input validation and logic checks.

Each incident underscores why comprehensive auditing — powered by both AI systems and skilled professionals — is essential before contracts go live.

An effective AI-powered auditing process typically involves the following steps:

  1. Code Ingestion and Parsing: The platform imports the smart contract code and parses it for analysis.
  2. Pattern Recognition: Algorithms identify known vulnerability signatures.
  3. Semantic Analysis: The logic and flow of the program are compared with intended behavior.
  4. Behavioral Modeling: Machine learning models simulate contract execution under various scenarios.
  5. Automated and Manual Review: Flagged issues are investigated by security professionals.
  6. Report Generation: Comprehensive reports are generated, detailing findings, recommendations, and remediation steps.
  7. Continuous Monitoring: Some platforms monitor live contracts for suspicious changes or behaviors that can indicate exploitation.
  8. The integration of AI and manual review creates a robust framework for effective smart contract security.

Implementing AI-powered smart contract auditing offers several advantages for businesses:

  • Shorter Auditing Periods: Automated scanning accelerates the process, saving development time.
  • Greater Detection Rates: AI often catches subtle bugs missed during manual reviews.
  • Cost Efficiency: Early detection of vulnerabilities reduces costly fixes post-deployment.
  • Scalability: As contract volumes grow, AI platforms can handle larger workloads with little additional resource investment.
  • Improved Trust: Clients and users gain confidence in the reliability of smart contract-based solutions.

AI-powered auditing, while advanced, comes with its own challenges:

  • Data Quality: Machine learning relies on clean, comprehensive datasets from previous audits.
  • Complexity of New Attack Types: Smart contract exploits evolve rapidly, necessitating ongoing updates to AI models.
  • False Positives/Negatives: No tool can guarantee detection of every issue; manual review remains essential.
  • Integration with Existing Workflows: Adding new tools requires collaboration between developers, security teams, and audit platforms.
  • Addressing these limitations requires continuous collaboration between AI researchers, blockchain developers, and auditing professionals.

The adoption of AI-powered auditing is growing across industries that use smart contracts. Financial services, supply chain logistics, and healthcare organizations seek greater protection as they integrate blockchain solutions. Industry standards around smart contract auditing are also evolving, with more regulators mandating security checks prior to deployment.

Future trends likely to shape the sector include:

  • AI platforms that self-update as new threats emerge.
  • Greater automation in contract deployment and monitoring.
  • Integration of AI tools with popular smart contract development frameworks.
  • Ongoing collaboration between AI and cybersecurity experts.

For businesses considering smart contract deployment, early engagement with these technologies is a prudent step.

  • Writing Clean, Commented Code: Clearly document intent, logic, and edge cases for easier review.
  • Using Frameworks and Libraries with Security Features: Rely on established components proven to reduce risks.
  • Regular Testing and Simulation: Run multiple test cases to check contract behavior under stress.
  • Code Reviews and Peer Audits: Invite multiple perspectives to inspect and validate code.
  • Auditing Before and After Deployment: Conduct security checks at every phase, especially after changes.

AI tools can complement these steps, but disciplined development practices and repeated reviews make smart contracts truly resilient.

Selecting an auditing approach depends on contract complexity, industry requirements, and organizational needs. When choosing AI-powered solutions, businesses should consider:

  • Platform Capabilities: Does the tool support the relevant blockchain and contract language?
  • Integration with Development Workflows: Can the solution plug into CI/CD systems for continuous auditing?
  • Reporting and Alerting Features: Does it offer clear, actionable reports?
  • Vendor Expertise: Are skilled security professionals available to review flagged issues?
  • Ongoing Support and Updates: Will the platform adapt as new vulnerabilities emerge?

Reputable partners and well-reviewed AI platforms provide peace of mind when launching critical blockchain projects.

Blockchain smart contracts can be updated or redeployed as projects evolve. However, new code changes can reintroduce vulnerabilities. Static audits performed before deployment may miss issues that arise after the contract interacts with live assets. This makes continuous, AI-powered monitoring a vital part of ongoing contract management.

Automated tools alert administrators to suspicious activity, unexpected program flows, and changes in contract storage. Real-time insights make it possible to respond promptly to emerging threats.

With the expansion of blockchain across fintech, healthcare, and government, regulatory scrutiny of smart contract security is increasing. Auditing and documentation help businesses comply with evolving standards, including those related to money laundering prevention, data privacy, and transaction reporting.

AI-powered solutions assist in automating compliance checks and generating reports required by auditors and regulators.

Businesses considering Smart Contract Development Services should keep the following points in mind:

  • Review the security policies of any development partner.
  • Request detailed audit reports and sample methodologies.
  • Verify that AI-assisted auditing is part of the quality assurance process.
  • Seek demonstration of continuous monitoring capabilities.
  • Demand transparency around how flagged issues are investigated and resolved.

Engagement in these areas helps clients manage risk and build reliable blockchain solutions.

Q1: What is the difference between manual and AI-powered auditing?

Manual auditing involves human security experts reviewing code for vulnerabilities. AI-powered auditing uses algorithms and machine learning to scan code automatically. Most comprehensive audits combine both approaches.

Q2: Can AI tools find all vulnerabilities in smart contracts?

AI tools improve detection rates but are not foolproof. Complex or novel vulnerabilities may escape detection, so manual inspection remains necessary.

Q3: How often should smart contracts be audited?

Contracts should be audited prior to deployment and after any significant updates or changes. Continuous monitoring can help catch threats in real time.

Q4: Are AI-auditing solutions suitable for all blockchain platforms?

Most leading AI-powered auditing tools support popular platforms like Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, but compatibility should be verified before adoption.

Q5: What are the main costs involved in smart contract auditing?

Costs depend on contract complexity, auditing methodology, and whether you use manual or AI-powered services. Investing in comprehensive audits helps reduce the risk of costly attacks later.

For businesses new to smart contracts, starting with these steps can lead to secure deployments:

  1. Define project requirements and intended contract logic.
  2. Engage with a Smart Contract Development Services provider with proven security credentials.
  3. Request for AI-powered auditing as part of the development process.
  4. Perform detailed testing and simulation prior to launch.
  5. Deploy contracts with continuous monitoring systems in place.
  6. Regularly update and re-audit contracts in response to changes.

These steps create a foundation for reliable blockchain solutions.

In the fast-changing world of blockchain, smart contracts promise automation and trust. But these benefits depend on rigorous security practices and effective auditing. By using AI-powered tools alongside skilled professionals, businesses can protect digital assets, maintain compliance, and earn user trust.

AI-powered smart contract auditing offers speed, accuracy, and efficiency, but should always be integrated with thorough manual inspection and smart development practices. Chart decoder series: Volume + obv – Smart Money Tracking System

Welcome to the Chart Decoder series. Here we categorize tools that separate casual traders from the strengths of veterans.

In the final episode, I explained it.

Today we dive into volume and obv (balance-on volume). Read together, these two indicators reveal where institutional money is flowing before the crowd catches up.

What is On-Balance Volume (OBV)?

Obv is a cumulative indicator created by Joe Granville in the 1960s. It is built on one simple premise. Volume precedes price. Smart money moves first, and prices continue later.

The calculation is simple:

  • End of today > If the end of yesterday: The buyer won. Add today’s volume to obv
  • If the end of today The seller won. Subtract today’s volume from obv
  • If the end of today = the end of yesterday: It’s a draw. The obv remains the same

result? A tally of running purchases over time and pressure to sell.

Please note that OBVs only respond to closing prices. Daytime swings are irrelevant. You may see a deep red candle, but if prices rise more than the previous day, the OBV is still rising. In other words, the buyers had the final say.

How to read volume + obv:

volume It tells you how strong the movement today is.

obv Indicates whether purchasing or selling pressure is piling up over time.

Put them together, you get both short-term action and larger images.

1. Confirmed uptrends: OBV + large capacity + rising price

Everything is lined up: institutional accumulation (obv), strong participation (quantity), and upward movement (price). These are usually the most reliable trends. Momentum and smart money both support movement.

2. Accumulation zone: OBV + Low volume + Lateral price increase

Smart money accumulation stage. The institution is quietly building positions without dramatically moving prices. This often precedes a big breakout when retailers finally realize. Watch out for sudden volume spikes or price breakouts and check the movement.

3. Distribution phase: obv + large capacity drop + down price

Ongoing distribution. Smart Money is on sale (OBV) and currently has a panic sale (volume). These moves often need to go further as sales pressure is built up. If you have a long position, quickly reassess.

4. Divergent Pattern The most powerful signal occurs when the OBV and price disagree.

  • Bullish divergence: Prices appear to be weak or delayed, but they obviously rise quietly. This is a sign that a major player is purchasing it. This could be a setup for a breakout.
  • Bearish emancipation: Prices continue to climb, but OBV is slipping. This means that demand is fading downwards. Smart money may end early.

5. Breakout confirmation: OBV + Spying volume + Increased price destruction resistance

This is a dream setup. The institutions are already accumulating, retailers are jumping in, and there is real confidence in the breakout. Often this is a green light. Make sure you’re too late to chase.

Actual example: BTC/USDT analysis

  • price: $119,100
  • obv: Flat at 15,302k
  • volume: It’s low and stable

The BTC has consolidated just under $120,000 after a strong rally, but the OBV is no longer climbing. The lines are flattened and there is no offensive sales, but neither suggests that strong accumulation is ongoing. This pause in OBV could mean that Smart Money is waiting and not selling, not actively purchasing. The volume remains light, so breakouts from here require new beliefs to stick.

There is no clear divergence at the moment, but the market is stagnant. Look carefully at the obv: if it starts to rise again on a green day, it may have returned the early signalble.

Volume + obv + other indicators:

This combo works even better when combined with tools you already know.

  • Volume + obv + vwap: As OBV rises and prices approach VWAP in large numbers, they often show institutional support at fair value levels. There may be a bounce.
  • Volume + obv + rsi: Rising in RSI in excess territory often marks a significant bottom. Smart money is buying while sentiment is poor. This can be a turning point.
  • Volume + obv + magd: If obv rises and Macd is over bullish, it will strengthen the uptrend case. If the obv is falling and your Macd is bearished, the sales signal will increase the weight.
  • Volume + obv + Bollinger Band: Bollinger bands show extreme prices. The obv can tell if these extremes are supported by actual pressure.
If you hit a low price band but your OBV is rising, this can result in a quiet buildup during pullback. The possibility of rebounding could be brewing.
If the price hits the upper band but the OBV fails, this may signal distribution during the hype. Possible fixes may continue.

Bonus Lead: obv + volume + vwap – Triple Confirm Setup

  • price: $119,100
  • VWAP: 118,737
  • obv: Flat at 15,302k
  • volume: It’s low and stable

Here’s what this chart tells us:

  • The price is a little On vwapwhich suggests that BTC is slightly above fair value based on recent volumes. It’s neutral to mild bullish, but it’s not a strong signal in itself.
  • I have an obv It’s flattened It shows that cumulative purchase pressure has stagnated after a solid uptrend. Smart money may be taking a break, they don’t sell, but they don’t actively buy it either.
  • The volume remains Lighttherefore, there is no panic sales, but there is no surge in convictions from either side.

Conclusion: This is a neutral zone. Prices are stable just above VWAP, but OBV and Volume have not yet confirmed breakouts. If the obv starts to rise again with volume spikes, it could become your green light. Until then, stay patient.

Pro tips for volume + obv:

1. Use multiple time frames

  • Daily OBV: Shows long-term institutional flows
  • 4 hours obv: Suitable for swing trading setups
  • 1 hour obv: Helps with accurate input timing

2. Watch not only the obv value but also the trend changes

Don’t see if the obv is positive or negative. Beware of trends changing. To rise after a long decline is more meaningful than to flatten a few weeks.

3. Volume quality issues

Not all volumes are equal. Activities during London/New York sessions often reflect institutional participation, but weekend or early Asian volumes can be noise.

4. Combined with major price levels

OBV works best when Price is nearby Support or resistance. If OBV is rising and prices are pushing towards resistance, there could be a breakout. If the obv is falling and the price is approaching support, it can drop.

5. Bear the divergence

Differences between price and obv can last for days or weeks. Just because OBV is rising while prices remain flat (or fall) doesn’t mean there will be breakouts today or tomorrow. In many cases, major players slowly and quietly build positions. It may take some time for prices to catch up.

6. I know the limitations

Choppy Market: obv gives a mixed signal during extended lateral actions as money flows back and forth without a clear direction.
News Events: Major developments can distort OBV readings due to price gaps.
Do not use alone: Always combine price actions with other metrics for confirmation.

Try it with Bitfinex:

  1. Log in to Bitfinex
  2. Select the main trading pair (BTC/USD, ETH/USD works well)
  3. Add a volume histogram at the bottom
  4. Add OBV from the indicator menu
  5. Look for the patterns we discussed
  6. Practice finding divergence between price and obv

Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

Ever since rumors started swirling of Meta partnering with more EssilorLuxottica brands, we’ve been salivating over the idea of having Oakley-branded smart glasses on our faces. That day is finally here, and it’s the representation of Meta doubling down on its vision that AI glasses are the future, and anyone without a pair is going to start feeling left out in life.

It’s similar to the way people started talking about smartphones after the original iPhone was announced, and it feels like a paradigm shift in computing has already begun. Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses aren’t a revolution over Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, but they do represent an important evolution over those specs.

In addition to the unique Oakley HSTN style, these frames offer the choice of Prizm polarized lenses, better video capture stabilization, longer battery life, and a case that’ll keep your glasses charged longer than before. They’re a solid improvement, albeit maybe a tad on the expensive side, especially for the limited edition pair.

I’ve been using Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses since July 16, 2025, for this review.

Limited-edition Warm White Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses launched in late July 2025 for $499. This limited edition pair features Prizm 24K polarized lenses and is currently the only way to buy Oakley Meta HSTNs. Additional styles and lens selections will be available in Fall 2025 and will retail for $399 and above.

At that point, lens styles will include Prizm, Prizm Polarized, Clear, and Transition lenses. Prescription options are available with a range of -6.00 to +4.00, which is the same range Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses offer.

Each pair of Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses ships with a charging storage case, a microfiber cleaning cloth, and a set of warranty manuals and instructions. You can see an unboxing here.

Oakley Meta HSTN: Are the Prizm lenses worth it?

Wearing Oakley Meta HSTN and Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses with the picture split down the middle

(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

Later this Fall, Meta will offer more Oakley styles and lens choices, but as of this writing, the only choice is to buy them with 24K Prizm polarized lenses. That choice makes these $100 more expensive than the base $399 price, but are Prizm lenses worth the extra cost? If you’re using them as sunglasses, I say yes.

My Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses have transition lenses on them, a choice that’ll be available on Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses soon. But while the transition lenses are convenient and allow me to wear the Ray-Bans indoors and out, the level of tinting even in bright sunlight leaves a lot to be desired.

To illustrate this, I set my camera to manual shutter speed and ISO so it wouldn’t adjust the brightness level to compensate for dark conditions. I then snapped a picture of this brightly-lit area to showcase just how good Prizm polarized lens tinting is.

(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

Seriously, the luminance difference with these is astounding, and I find Prizm lenses to be unquestionably comfortable in sunlight. Since Oakley Meta HSTN lenses are “built for athletes” and anyone spending a lot of time outdoors, it seems like a smart idea that Meta only offered this choice initially.

But Prizm lenses don’t just offer good tinting. They also “enhance vibrance and visual experience,” according to Oakley. I’ve never used a pair of Prizm lenses before these glasses, and now I realize what I’ve been missing. Again, I took a camera to the lenses to showcase what you’ll see with Prizm lenses, this time with normal brightness compensation enabled.

The first time I put the glasses on, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Suddenly, green grass looked impossibly green, as if it came from a Studio Ghibli movie. Everything was warmer, brighter, and just generally pleasant to look at.

I wouldn’t say these lenses enhance clarity, but they certainly do something awesome to the world’s colors and are a great bonus on top of the already excellent tinting level.

Oakley Meta HSTN: What you’ll like

Anyone planning to use Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses to record their marathon runs, sports outings, or other high-energy events is going to be thrilled with what Meta did here. While the 3K resolution camera doesn’t do much for image quality, Meta uses the extra resolution to better stabilize video capture, and it feels like magic.

Through my testing, I tried using them for everything from daily runs to a Spartan Race, and was impressed with how stable video capture remained even through the bumpiest events. It’s a substantial improvement over Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, and it achieves exactly what Meta was going for.

In general, I preferred using these to take pictures and video over any of the glasses’ other functions. Video capture, in particular, is such an excellent use of these since it provides a unique perspective that frees up both of your hands and your full body to do normal things without having to worry about holding (or dropping) a phone.

They’re also faster than a phone to take a picture or record a video since they’re ready to go at a moment’s notice. Just press the button or ask Meta to start a video or snap a picture.

Watch On

Outside of this, the experience isn’t functionally any different from Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. They act like a pair of open-ear headphones, but the sound quality isn’t noticeably improved over Ray-Ban Metas. Still, I loved using these as a way to talk on the phone hands-free while driving. They’re even better than my Ray-Bans because of the tinting provided by the Oakley Prizm lenses.

Meta AI works exactly the same as it does on Ray-Ban Metas, including the choice of using the “Hey, Meta” keyword or just tapping the right temple touchpad to invoke the assistant. Because it can use the cameras and microphones from the glasses, Meta AI is an incredibly powerful tool that can be helpful in tons of situations.

(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

For example, I was walking around my backyard and noticed a newly planted rhododendron was looking pretty fried on one side. I asked Meta AI what could be happening, and it suggested that the plant might be getting too much sun.

Upon further inspection, I realized the fried side was facing the westward sun. Given that it’s high summer at this point, that made a lot of sense, and I ended up relocating the plant to a shadier spot. Meta AI effectively saved my plant, and it’s just one of the many reasons it’s incredibly useful to have on a pair of glasses.

Oakley Meta HSTN: What needs improvement

The straight sides of Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses

(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

If there’s anything these glasses need, it’s some padding for the temple arms. The glasses are nice and tight on my head, and don’t wobble at all for most tasks. In the video above, I took it out for several runs and went through several different types of exercises that all involved lots of body movement.

The only time they failed to stay on my head was when I was doing burpees, which involve dropping to the floor to essentially do a push-up, then standing up and jumping at the top. Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses held on far better, and it’s because the temple arms are curved at the end.

Because the Oakley temple arms come to a smaller, straight point, I found them to be less comfortable than the Ray-Ban design when wearing them for hours. Again, a set of rubber temple pads should help this a lot.

Holding a pair of limited edition warm white Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses

(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

Beyond comfort, Oakley Meta HSTN battery life still leaves a bit to be desired. If you’re using it for mixed purposes — that is, asking Meta AI a few questions, listening to some music, and taking a few photos or videos — these glasses still can’t last a whole day on a single charge.

Now, that’s not to say there isn’t a notable improvement. As my Oakley Meta HSTN battery review showed, you’ll get roughly 60% better battery life from these glasses. That’s not double the battery life as Meta’s estimates show, but it’s an improvement that’s far better than the annual upgrade most modern smart products offer.

I was also disappointed that the new 3K camera didn’t improve image quality to any meaningful degree. You’ll find fewer compression artifacts and some slightly crisper imagery when choosing 3K resolution in the Meta AI app’s glasses settings, but it’s not worth the tradeoff in battery life or image stabilization. Stick with 1080p, the default out-of-the-box setting.

Oakley Meta HSTN: Should you buy them?

Wearing a pair of limited-edition warm white Meta Oakley HSTN smart glasses with 24K Prizm lenses

(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

You should buy them if….

  • You want a hands-free way to take pictures or video, make phone calls, listen to music, or chat with Meta AI.
  • You love Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses but need longer battery life.
  • You want a pair of Oakley’s with lots of extra functionality.

You shouldn’t buy them if….

  • You are planning to record over an hour of video or listen to music for more than 3 hours per charge.
  • You want a pair of smart glasses with a display.
  • You don’t want to give Meta any more of your data than it already has.

Oakley Meta HSTN are the best smart glasses Meta has made to date, featuring better video capture, longer battery life, and incredible Oakley Prizm lenses. The battery upgrade alone is a reason to choose them over Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, so long as you have the budget for it.

And that’s the biggest problem with Oakley Meta HSTN: the price. Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses retail for $299 and can sometimes be found on sale for $250 or less. Oakley Meta HSTN start at $399 and really only offer two main advantages: better image stabilization during video capture, and roughly 60% better battery life. There’s no doubt both of these are great selling points, but it’s hard to justify $100 extra for them.

But if you want the best of the best, these perfectly fit the bill. They’re by far the best AI smart glasses on the market and they provide the best camera capture quality you’ll find on any glasses to date. Regular updates for Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses tell us that these will see new features for years to come, and it helps make the $399+ price tag a little more palatable in the end. So long as you’re OK with Meta gathering more of your data, of course.

The Dogecoin price has soared 8% in the past 24 hours, hitting $0.223 as whale activity ramps up and momentum builds across the meme coin space.

DOGE is now up 8.5% on the week, 30% over the past month, and a massive 123% in the past year, showing powerful long-term strength that continues to outpace expectations.

Technical analysis suggests DOGE may be sitting at the very beginning of a major breakout, with the potential to push toward new all-time highs as bullish sentiment floods back into the market.

With the broader crypto rally gaining speed and Dogecoin still leading the meme coin narrative, the setup points to a very bullish long-term Dogecoin price prediction – one that could surprise even the most optimistic holders.

Dogecoin Price Prediction: Biggest Whale Buy Since 2024 – Could This Be the Smart Money Signal?

Analyst Ali Martinez has tracked a considerable increase in whale accumulation in recent days, with large investors accumulating 1 billion DOGE in the 24 hours leading up to August 6 (Wednesday).

In fact, Martinez followed up this post with another earlier this morning, showing that whales are still at it, having bought 230 million DOGE in the past 24 hours.

This is hugely bullish for DOGE, since even with some big buys earlier in the week, whales still have an appetite for the meme token.

It has benefitted from the market-wide rally today, which in turn appears to have followed from yesterday’s news that Ripple has acquired stablecoin platform Rail for $200 million.

While this news is obviously of direct relevance only to Ripple and XRP, it was the major catalyst in today’s rally, with prices following XRP’s aggressive surge.

As such, demand is higher across the board, and this includes demand for Dogecoin, which is enjoying a boost in momentum.

As its chart shows, its indicators are rising quickly from oversold levels, with its relative strength index (yellow) touching 70 today.

Dogecoin price prediction chart.

Its MACD (orange, blue) has also very recently turned positive, with the indicator having more space to rise before it enters an overbought position.

This is very encouraging for Dogecoin, which has also seen its trading volume double in the past couple of days, from $1 billion to just over $2 billion.

And some analysts are predicting a big medium- and long-term push, with Ali Martinez suggesting yesterday that it’s trading in “a historically strong buy zone.”

The Dogecoin price could therefore hit $0.30 by the end of the month, and higher toward $1 by the end of the year.

Could This Be the Meme Coin That Outruns Dogecoin?

While Dogecoin is expected to rise alongside the broader market, it’s unlikely to be the top-performing meme token in the months ahead.

Given its already massive size, newer meme coins are far more likely to deliver outsized gains, especially presale tokens entering their first growth phase.

That’s why many traders are turning to early-stage opportunities like Maxi Doge (MAXI), an ERC-20 token that recently launched its ICO and is quickly gaining momentum.

Maxi Doge website.

Maxi Doge has already raised nearly $500,000 in its presale, despite launching just a week ago, a sign of the strong momentum building around this project.

Fully embracing its meme coin identity, Maxi Doge is creating a high-energy community of traders who will help fuel its growth through engagement, competition, and shared conviction.

The project’s Telegram and Discord channels will serve as hubs for trading challenges and competitions, where holders can earn rewards by staying active and outperforming others.

This gamified approach aims to keep the community engaged, attract new traders, and build lasting demand for the token.

A key part of the project’s growth strategy is the Maxi Fund, which will hold 25% of the total supply (150.24 billion MAXI). It will be used to boost liquidity, form partnerships, and support the token’s long-term expansion.

This gives Maxi Doge the potential to be one of the biggest new meme coins of the year, with investors able to join its presale at its official website.

MAXI is currently selling for $0.000251, although this will rise in two days and will continue to rise periodically for the entire sale.

Supply chain management is a key part of every business, influencing production, delivery, and overall profitability. In recent years, the growing digitization of business processes has brought forth several innovations, one of the most promising being smart contracts. As businesses strive to increase transparency, reduce costs, and minimize delays, the spotlight has turned to blockchain-based solutions and, more specifically, smart contracts for tangible improvements in efficiency.

Smart contracts are automated digital agreements written in code, established on blockchain networks. Unlike traditional contracts, these digital agreements execute predefined actions once set conditions are met, without the need for an intermediary. Their secure and self-executing nature brings efficiency and precision to business operations, particularly supply chain management.

For companies seeking to automate complex supply chain transactions, a Smart Contract development Company can design customized solutions that address each unique business need. By adopting such technology, businesses move toward a process where transactions are direct, fast, and recorded on an immutable ledger.

Supply chain management covers everything from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished goods to consumers. The process is complex and involves many participants — manufacturers, suppliers, logistics companies, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. At each step, there’s dependency on timely information, trust between partners, and accurate tracking of goods.

Traditional supply chains rely heavily on manual documentation, human coordination, and siloed IT systems, making them vulnerable to errors, fraud, and inefficiencies. These shortcomings can lead to losses, disputes, and even compliance issues. Digitally driven solutions help bridge these gaps — and smart contracts are at the forefront of these advancements.

1. Improved Transparency

Smart contracts record every transaction on a decentralized blockchain. This ledger is accessible to authorized supply chain partners, making it easier to monitor the movement of goods, payments, and contractual obligations in real time. The transparency discourages fraudulent activities and promotes accountability, as every party has access to the same unchangeable record.

2. Reduced Disputes

Because smart contracts execute based on pre-set conditions, there is little room for misinterpretation. All terms — payment dates, delivery milestones, quantity and quality requirements — are coded. When conditions are met, outcomes are triggered automatically, leaving less opportunity for disputes or delays.

3. Faster Payments and Settlements

Traditionally, payments are delayed due to manual checks and multiple layers of approval. Smart contracts execute payment as soon as the agreed criteria are met, such as a shipment arriving at its destination or inspection approvals being logged. This results in prompt settlements, improving cash flow for suppliers and vendors.

4. Streamlined Documentation

Each step in the supply chain involves documentation: purchase orders, invoices, customs paperwork, etc. Through smart contracts, these documents can be digitized and automated. Not only does this reduce paperwork, but it also minimizes errors and fraud. Audit trails become simpler and more reliable.

5. Increased Trust Among Partners

The immutable and transparent nature of blockchain-backed smart contracts builds trust. Every modification and transaction is recorded in a way that cannot be altered. When all parties know that actions and results are objectively verified, cooperative decision-making and stronger partnerships become possible.

6. Optimized Inventory Management

With data from smart contracts recorded in real time, companies can track goods as they move through the supply chain. This helps in predicting delays, preventing stockouts, and maintaining optimal inventory levels, which is vital for both retailers and manufacturers.

Procurement

Smart contracts can automate the entire procurement cycle — from sending requests for quotations to accepting tenders, issuing purchase orders, and making payments. Conditions such as delivery timelines, quality checks, and penalties for delays can all be coded to trigger the next steps, reducing administrative burden and the chance for disputes.

Logistics and Shipping

Shipping processes involve coordination between multiple vendors and agencies. With a smart contract-based system, shipping terms, customs compliance checks, and delivery milestones are all managed digitally. Only when a cargo is verified to have cleared customs would the smart contract authorize its release for further movement or payment to the logistics provider.

Quality Assurance

In many industries, product quality checks are critical. Smart contracts can verify inspection logs and automatically approve or reject shipments based on reported data. If a batch fails quality control, the contract can automatically initiate a replacement order or adjust the outstanding payment.

Supplier Relationships

Performance tracking is key in long-term supplier relationships. Smart contracts can help create digital scorecards based on timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, or responsiveness. Contracts can be designed to reward consistent performance or initiate reviews for underperformance.

The process typically follows these stages:

  1. Mapping the Workflow: The business outlines the steps currently undertaken manually, such as order creation, approvals, inspections, etc.
  2. Defining Smart Contract Logic: Business rules and requirements are turned into digital code by specialists from a Smart Contract development Company.
  3. Setting Up Permissions: Only approved stakeholders are given access to relevant parts of the blockchain, maintaining data privacy.
  4. Testing and Deployment: Before going live, the contract is validated with test transactions to prevent errors or loopholes.
  5. Ongoing Integration: Once deployed, the smart contract can be integrated with other business systems, such as ERP or logistics tracking software.

While the advantages are significant, some challenges remain:

  • Technical Complexity: Building robust, secure smart contracts requires skilled blockchain and business process experts.
  • Data Integrity: For the system to work, the data input must be accurate and honest. Integrating IoT sensors and automated data feeds can reduce manual input errors.
  • Legal Recognition: Although digital contracts are gaining acceptance, legal frameworks vary by country. Businesses need to confirm local laws support smart contract transactions.
  • Integration with Legacy Systems: Existing IT infrastructure may not be ready for smooth integration with blockchain solutions; upgrades may be necessary.
  1. Assess Current Processes: Identify points in your supply chain where automation and transparency would be most beneficial.
  2. Consult with a Specialist: Engage a Smart Contract development Company to evaluate your requirements and design a solution that fits.
  3. Pilot the Solution: Start with a small-scale pilot, such as automating purchase orders with a trusted supplier, before rolling out company-wide.
  4. Train Your Team: Both technical and managerial staff need to understand how smart contracts change operations, compliance, and reporting.
  5. Monitor and Improve: Once operational, monitor the effectiveness of your smart contracts, collect feedback, and plan for further digital upgrades.

The adoption of smart contracts is rising as companies look for reliable ways to record and automate transactions. Here are some trends to watch:

  • Integration With IoT: As more supply chains use IoT devices for tracking, real-time data can automatically trigger actions in smart contracts.
  • Inter-organization Collaboration: Blockchain networks are expanding, making it possible for entire industry sectors to share a secure, standardized digital contract system.
  • Automated Dispute Resolution: Advanced smart contracts can include mechanisms to resolve common disputes automatically, further reducing human involvement.

Smart contracts present a practical approach for businesses to simplify and automate supply chain management. From reducing paperwork and disputes to encouraging faster settlements and trust among business partners, their potential spans the entire supply chain. As more companies adopt blockchain technology, those who adapt early will have an advantage in operational cost reduction, speed, and transparency.
