Ninety-year-old University of Washington emeritus physics professor John G. Cramer has volunteered to join a pioneering effort to surpass the 122-year human longevity limit by undergoing bioreactor-grown mitochondrial transplantation. The work is overseen by physicians and scientists from Stanford, UCLA, Northwell Health NY, and Mitrix Bio.

Cramer describes the approach as “the first that seems potentially safe and powerful enough to get someone past 122 in good health” and, if successful, could also aid children with genetic disorders, injured veterans and others.

Cramer holds 300-plus physics papers, three hard-science novels and the first audio recording of the Big Bang among his accomplishments, but he still wants “another 30 years” to pursue new books, experiments and possibly another doctorate.

After evaluating current life-extension methods, he selected mitochondrial transplantation over epigenetic reprogramming, judging the latter too risky for his age. Mitochondria — the cell’s power plants — can now be transplanted to treat sepsis, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other conditions; Mitrix Bio aims to scale the process to reverse aging by supplying large volumes of “age-reset” mitochondria.

The project seeks five additional participants aged 55 or older or living with chronic illnesses who can self-fund and are willing to act as early adopters. Data gathered will also assist teams treating pediatric, chronic and neurodegenerative diseases.

“I’ve been very fortunate,” says Cramer. “Isn’t that what everyone would like to do if they could? I and the other volunteers all feel privileged to blaze this new trail.”

Shiba Inu Triangle Formation Puts The Bears In Charge, 20% Crash Could Rock Meme Coin https://earlybirdsinvest.com/shiba-inu-triangle-formation-puts-the-bears-in-charge-20-crash-could-rock-meme-coin/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/shiba-inu-triangle-formation-puts-the-bears-in-charge-20-crash-could-rock-meme-coin/#respond Tue, 03 Jun 2025 22:06:18 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/shiba-inu-triangle-formation-puts-the-bears-in-charge-20-crash-could-rock-meme-coin/

Crypto analyst Smart Trading has revealed a bearish pattern for Shiba Inu, indicating that the bears are in firm control. Based on this, he predicted that SHIB could witness a 20% crash, which would represent a huge setback for the bulls.

Shiba Inu Breaks Down Below Triangle Pattern

In a TradingView post, Smart Trading stated that the Shiba Inu price recently broke down from a triangle pattern after consolidating near a key resistance. With this development, the analyst remarked that a potential retest of the breakdown zone around $0.00001396 is possible before continuing toward the support level near 0.00001041

Based on this analysis, the major levels to watch include the resistance at $0.00001396 and the support zone at $0.00001041. In a TradingView post, crypto analyst Paper Trader also echoed a similar sentiment. He noted that Shiba Inu is consolidating in a demand zone and near a key level.

The analyst remarked that the bulls need the Shiba Inu price to break out of the demand zone above $0.00001300 for the top meme coin to reach $0.00001427. Based on his accompanying chart, this could pave the way for a further rally to $0.00001700. Paper Trader added that if the demand zone fails to hold, then SHIB bears can push the price to the 0.00001100 levels.

Shiba Inu has struggled this year and is down over 38% since the start of the year. This underperformance has caused the meme coin to drop drastically in the crypto rankings, currently ranked as the 19th crypto by market cap. SHIB had, towards the end of last year, reentered the top 10 ranking by market cap after recording an impressive 81% gain in under two weeks.

The Bottom May Be In For SHIB

On the other hand, crypto analyst GKTrademanthan has provided a bullish outlook for the Shiba Inu price, stating that the bottom is in for the meme coin. This came as he drew a similarity between the 2024 and current price action. He claimed that SHIB is following a repeated pattern cycle, which he broke into four stages.

The first stage is the falling wedge, which the analyst revealed has been completed. GKTrademanthan revealed that Shiba Inu has also completed the Cup and Handle pattern and W Pattern, which are stages 2 and 3, respectively.

Stage 4 is the inverted Head and Shoulders, which the analyst revealed is pending formation and could trigger a major upward move for Shiba Inu. The target on the breakout is $0.00002431, which represents about a 90% move from SHIB’s current levels.

At the time of writing, the Shiba Inu price is trading at around $0.00001322, up over 3% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

South Korean Crypto Exchange Deregulation Plans Set to Rock Banking Sector https://earlybirdsinvest.com/south-korean-crypto-exchange-deregulation-plans-set-to-rock-banking-sector/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/south-korean-crypto-exchange-deregulation-plans-set-to-rock-banking-sector/#respond Wed, 14 May 2025 03:36:43 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/south-korean-crypto-exchange-deregulation-plans-set-to-rock-banking-sector/ South Korean crypto exchange deregulation proposals could affect the nation’s banking industry, dealing a blow to the likes of K Bank, reports have claimed.

South Korea’s Financial Post reported that the Democratic Party, the National Assembly’s biggest party, is currently “considering” issuing a manifesto promise to ditch existing fiat on/off banking rules.

Crypto Exchange Deregulation Now Inevitable, Sources Claim

The current banking rules require domestic fiat-trading crypto exchanges to partner with a bank that must provide platforms with customer banking services via dedicated crypto wallet-linked bank accounts.

A graph showing Upbit trading volumes over the past 12 months.

In late April, the ruling People Power Party (PPP) unveiled a host of crypto promises, including a pledge to do away with the rule.

If the DP does indeed follow suit, this could mean the end of the era of exclusive banking deals. Instead, exchanges would be free to strike deals with multiple banks.

And that could potentially spell trouble for K Bank, whose partnership with the market-leading exchange Upbit has led to exponential growth for both parties.

However, the media outlet wrote that the banking sector is now set to “undergo surgery” as “voices urging deregulation grow louder ahead of the presidential election.”

Frontrunner Mulls Manifesto Pledge

The media outlet claimed that the campaign team of the DP candidate and presidential frontrunner Lee Jae-myung is “strongly considering” making a near-identical pledge.

That would all result in K Bank “taking a direct hit,” the outlet continued. Critics have previously claimed that K Bank’s “dependence” on its Upbit-related business could derail its long-running bid to go public.

K Bank has been Upbit’s exclusive banking partner since mid-2020. Trades on Upbit account for almost 68% of the current total of the domestic South Korean market.

South Korea is set to go to the polls on June 3 after the Constitutional Court ruled to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol earlier this year. Lee leads in most polls by a margin of about 20%.

The DP has responded to the PPP’s bid to woo younger voters with crypto-friendly policies with its own crypto pledges.

The party launched a Digital Asset Committee on May 13, headed by the pro-industry lawmaker Min Byoung-dug.

Min has previously called for tax parity between South Korean stock traders and crypto investors. He has also urged Seoul to green-light Bitcoin spot ETFs.

Regulators on Board With Deregulation Plans?

Regulators are also hinting that they could be prepared to soften their hardline stance on the crypto sector.

The same media outlet wrote that the Financial Services Commission (FSC) is now “looking into conditional deregulation measures.”

The FSC Chairman Kim Byung-hwan told reporters at a recent press conference:

“Since the existing banking rules were introduced to reduce the risk of money laundering, we will need to check to see if banks and exchanges have the systems in place that let them manage all related risks. We will conduct a comprehensive review. And after that, we will decide whether or not we need to improve the current system.”

An unnamed financial industry executive told the media outlet:

“Since there are so many voices calling for deregulation, we will have no choice but to go in that direction. But we need to gradually ease regulations, while ensuring we make up for any shortcomings.”

$518,000,000 in Bitcoin and Crypto Liquidated As Trump’s Tariffs Rock Global Markets https://earlybirdsinvest.com/518000000-in-bitcoin-and-crypto-liquidated-as-trumps-tariffs-rock-global-markets/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/518000000-in-bitcoin-and-crypto-liquidated-as-trumps-tariffs-rock-global-markets/#respond Thu, 03 Apr 2025 01:12:06 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/518000000-in-bitcoin-and-crypto-liquidated-as-trumps-tariffs-rock-global-markets/

Crypto assets are witnessing a fresh wave of liquidations as President Trump’s new tariffs rock global markets.

Trump’s new blanket tariffs target a long list of nations and go further than many analysts expected, sparking widespread economic uncertainty and volatility in both traditional and digital asset markets.

Bitcoin’s price has plummeted from a 24-hour high of $87,790 down to $82,223 at time of publishing, with $518 billion in liquidations hitting BTC and the digital asset market at large in the last day, according to CoinGlass.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down more than 1,000 points in after-hours trading, the S&P 500 futures have dropped by 3.5% and the Nasdaq 100 futures have dropped 4.2%.

Trump has signed an executive order imposing a 10% tariff on all imported goods entering the US, effective April 5th, with the stated goal of protecting domestic manufacturing.

He also issued a proclamation detailing “reciprocal tariffs” on dozens of specific countries effective April 9th, with rates totaling up to 54% on China.

At a Rose Garden address, Trump said the reciprocal tariffs are designed to address decades of unfair trade practices and restore economic fairness for the United States.

The Solana price is seemingly on the verge of another major crash, as an analyst forecasts a correction to $90. Given the cryptocurrency’s recent slow momentum due to the ongoing market letdown, an additional 26% decline to new lows could significantly impact the future outlook of Solana.

Analyst Forecast Massive SOL Price Crash

CoinMarketCap’s data shows that the Solana price has given up most of its yearly gains following its massive 50% price crash earlier last month. Despite this bearish performance, TradingView crypto analyst MadWhale highlights that the pain isn’t over yet, projecting an even deeper price decline for the popular altcoin.

Related Reading: Solana Price On The Verge Of 2022-Like Crash To Send It Back To $22?

The analyst believes that a 26% drop to $90 may be on the horizon if Solana fails to find proper support. Sharing a detailed price that supports his bearish prediction, MadWhale suggested that the Solana price is currently in a Descending Channel, indicating a sustained downtrend.

The chart shows that the altcoin’s price movement is making lower highs and lower lows, confirming its already bearish structure. Moreover, Solana is presently struggling to break above the key resistance area indicated by a straight red line above the $130 threshold.

Massive price crash incoming for SOL | Source: MadWhale on Tradingview

The curved red arrow in the chart highlights the trajectory to which Solana is expected to move if it fails to surpass resistance levels. The $90 level is also marked as the main monthly support for the altcoin, where a potential bounce back or accumulation is set to arise. If Solana can retest this support level, MadWhale believes it could recover enough to sustain a lengthy upward trend.

While Solana’s overall price position and market trend are in the red, the TradingView analyst acknowledges that temporary bullish movements could happen. However, these minor fluctuations would be short-lived, as they are part of the broader downtrend.

Notably, MadWhale has marked the $100 mark as a psychological resistance level for the Solana price, where a decline toward this threshold could influence its market sentiment.

Solana Market Sentiment Switches To Fear

Solana’s market sentiment recently hit 1-year lows, but on-chain data shows an even more volatile trend. The altcoin’s Fear and Greed index at 34 indicates that it may be approaching extreme fear zones. This suggests a potential period of panic-driven sell-offs by investors.

CoinCodex’s data also highlights that Solana’s overall market trend is significantly bearish. Over the last 30 days, Solana has recorded more red days than green, signaling a prolonged downtrend. As a result of its bearish price action, CoinCodex indicates that now may be a bad time to buy the altcoin.

Commenting on Solana’s current market sentiment, crypto analyst Market Prophit notes that the crowd remains bearish on the cryptocurrency. However, smart money stays bullish, fueling hopes of a possible price reversal in the altcoin.

Today was the last day of 3rd Rock Grid, one of the oldest grids in OpenSim.

The grid announced that it was closing back in March, and, since then, many of the former residents have found their way to other grids, with ZetaWorlds being a popular destination.

Start at Sirocco, which is slated to by the administrative hub of the new 3rd Rock Grid expat community once its done. There is already land available for rent, starting at $2.50 a month for a 10,000-prim Second Life-sized region.

Check out the 3rd Wind Community website for more information, including land prices, an events calendar, and a membership form.

The community rented a dedicated servers from ZetaWorlds and, as a non-profit, can offer very low land prices, said Alia Soulstar, a founder of the 3rd Wind Community.

There are also arts and education areas and other public lands, she told Hypergrid Business, with a total land area of more than 800 standard region equivalents.

“We had a month-long series of community meetings where we invited the owners of a handful of grids to come and talk,” Soulstar said. “Then we had a long discussion and choose this grid. A lot of the choice was based around the flexibility of having a dedicated server to design our own community around. The general feeling was that we wanted to stay together as a family, so we made the collective decision to move here.”

She recommends that people start on the Sirocco region of ZetaWorlds, where they can find out about land ownership and get other administrative information.

“We are still under construction so haven’t made a landmark map yet, but will have that up in a few days,” she said.

People also gather on the beach on the Peapod region and Risa on the Anubis region.

But the most popular location is Infinity region’s Starfleet Infinity area, home to bars, dance places, space stations, and starships.

For those who haven’t yet transfered their regions or avatar inventories, there is still time, said Soulstar. ” 3rd Rock Grid created OARs of all the regions there and will hold them in cloud storage for a year so they can be reclaimed, and a number of IARs for active users, too. And we are able to load OARs and IARs for recovery, so all is not lost if you find yourself locked out.”

ZetaWorlds will upload the OAR region export files and IAR inventory files for users, she said, and the 3rd Wind Community will help with the process.

The OARs will be “kept for the foreseable future,” 3rd Rock Grid board member Tara Dockery, also known as Thoria Millgrove in-world, said yesterday. “We will provide those OARs to the registered owners upon request.”

Her own region, Peapod, is already on ZetaWorlds, along with its events, Dockery told Hypergrid Business.

You can read more about the transition to ZetaWorlds at Thirza Ember’s Hypergrid Safari blog.

OpenSim users hit all-time high despite 3rd Rock closure https://earlybirdsinvest.com/opensim-users-hit-all-time-high-despite-3rd-rock-closure/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/opensim-users-hit-all-time-high-despite-3rd-rock-closure/#respond Sun, 16 Feb 2025 06:21:29 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/opensim-users-hit-all-time-high-despite-3rd-rock-closure/

OpenSim active users are up by 1,039 this month, reaching a new all-time high of 48,234. The total land area also increased, by 489 standard region equivalents.

However, the total number of registered users on all the public OpenSim grids fell by more than 10,000 since May. The biggest reason for the drop? 3rd Rock Grid is now officially closed, with some of its communities moved to ZetaWorlds. Last month, 3rd Rock Grid reported 13,615 registered users, though it had only 250 actives. 3rd Rock was one of the oldest OpenSim grounds, founded back in 2008, and accumulated a lot of user registrations over the past decade and a half.

Several other grids did not report their stats this month, including CandM World, which was active this month but showed no stats on its stats page. The grid had over 500 actives in May.

We are now tracking a total of 2,663 public grids, of which 309 are active and 253 published their statistics this month. If you have a stats page that we’re not tracking, please email me at maria@hypergridbusiness.com — that way, your grid will be mentioned in this report every month, for additional visibility with both search engines and users.

This month, OSgrid was the largest grid by land area, with 32,547 standard region equivalents, while Wolf Territories Grid was the most active, with 6,232 unique logins over the past 30 days.

OpenSim land area for June 2024. (Hypergrid Business data.).

Our stats do not include most of the grids running on DreamGrid, a free easy-to-use version OpenSim, since these tend to be private grids.

OpenSim is a free, open-source, virtual world platform, that’s similar to Second Life and allows people with no technical skills to quickly and cheaply create virtual worlds and teleport to other virtual worlds. Those with technical skills can run OpenSim worlds on their servers for free using either DreamGrid, the official OpenSim installer for those who are more technically inclined, or any other distribution, while commercial hosting starts at less than $5 a region.

A list of OpenSim hosting providers is here. Download the recommended Firestorm viewer here and find out where to get content for your OpenSim world or region here.

Top 25 grids by active users

When it comes to general-purpose social grids, especially closed grids, the rule of thumb is the busier the better. People looking to make new friends look for grids that already have the most users. Merchants looking to sell content will go to the grids with the most potential customers. Event organizers looking for the biggest audience — you get the idea.

As you can see in the above chart, nearly all the growth in Kitely Market has been in content that can be exported to other grids — that is the green area on the graph. The red area, of non-exportable content, has stayed level for the past eight years.

The Kitely Market is the largest collection of legal content available in OpenSim. It is accessible to both hypergrid-enabled and closed, private grids. The instructions for how to configure the Kitely Market for closed grids are here.

Kitely has recently doubled the performance of its regions while keeping prices the same.

New grids

The following grids were added to our database this month: Lady’s Dreamworld and Virtual Vista Metaverse.

If you know of any public grid that we’re missing, please email me at maria@hypergridbusiness.com.
