Wilder World is leveling up. The metaverse gaming project has officially launched its first-person shooter (FPS) mode in Super Early Access at Gamescom 2025. Backed by Samsung, the launch includes a global $100,000 tournament and introduces a new way to explore its growing digital world.

Key Takeaways

  • Wilder World’s FPS mode is now live in Super Early Access at Gamescom 2025

  • A $100K tournament is running through September, with a live final on September 24

  • Samsung-branded NFTs are available to Gamescom attendees via NFC tap-ins

  • The FPS adds a new dimension to Wilder World’s evolving metaverse

  • The WILD token ecosystem continues to grow through new initiatives

Gamescom Launch and Samsung Integration

On August 20, Gamescom attendees got a first look—and hands-on play—with Wilder World’s new FPS mode, set in Wiami, a massive digital city built in Unreal Engine 5. The sharp visuals and fast action introduce a fresh style of gameplay for the Wilder community. It’s the first time players can experience Wiami through the lens of a tactical shooter.

The tournament is open to all players, with qualifiers running from August 25 to September 9, followed by playoffs from September 10 to 15. The top five finalists will be flown in, all expenses paid, for the grand finale on September 24 at a still-undisclosed location, where they’ll compete for the $100K prize pool.

Samsung is a major partner for the launch, offering on-site rewards to Gamescom attendees. By tapping NFC towers, players can claim a Samsung-branded POAP NFT—short for “Proof of Attendance Protocol.” It’s a digital badge that also works as a playable in-game item that can be used across the Wilder World metaverse.

Expanding Wilder World’s Universe

Wilder World got on the map with its 2024 racing game, Wilder Wheels. Now, the team is stepping into one of gaming’s most competitive genres. The addition of FPS gameplay is designed to broaden the platform’s appeal while sticking with core Web3 ideas—like asset ownership, user-made content, and a community-driven economy.

This latest launch builds on recent momentum for the WILD token. Highlights include the Lamborghini Temerario NFT collection selling out in just four minutes, the launch of Wiami.fun for user-generated assets, and Operation Titan, a multi-million-dollar WILD buyback program.

Other updates, like Metropolis and CYPHER, show the team’s ongoing push to grow the ecosystem and keep players and investors engaged.

Wilder World has also been featured in the Epic Games Store’s Top 10 Most Anticipated Games, alongside several big-name Web2 titles. With strong visuals, Web3 functionality, and active community support, it’s working to stand out in a crowded market.

Final Thoughts

Speaking about the launch, Wilder World co-founder and executive producer n3o put it this way:

“The $100K tournament isn’t just about esports—it’s a global stage to show the world that Wilder World is building at the frontier of gaming and the metaverse.”

Wilder World’s FPS debut brings together competitive gameplay, digital rewards, and support from a global tech brand. Whether it signals a shift in mainstream Web3 adoption or not, it’s a clear example of how blockchain and gaming continue to intersect in new and creative ways.

A massive Bitcoin theft from 2020 has surfaced nearly four years later, and it’s now being called the largest crypto heist ever uncovered.

Key Takeaways:

  • Arkham has revealed an undisclosed 2020 hack of 127,426 BTC from Chinese mining pool LuBian.
  • The attack exploited weaknesses in LuBian’s private key system, with over 90% of its BTC drained in a single day.
  • LuBian attempted to contact the hacker via Bitcoin’s OP_RETURN feature.

On Saturday, blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence reported that 127,426 BTC, valued at around $3.5 billion at the time and nearly $14.5 billion today, was stolen from Chinese mining pool LuBian in December 2020.

LuBian rose quickly in early 2020, becoming the sixth-largest mining pool on the Bitcoin network by mid-year.

Its website promoted it as “the safest high yielding mining pool in the world.”

LuBian Vanished in 2021, Sparking Speculation of Shutdown

By February 2021, LuBian had disappeared without explanation, fueling speculation that it was either shut down by authorities or quietly converted into a private pool.

Arkham’s investigation points to a more dramatic exit: a hack that drained the pool’s holdings.

“They appear to have been first hacked on December 28th, 2020 for over 90% of their BTC,” Arkham wrote.

The following day, attackers siphoned off another $6 million in BTC and USDT from a LuBian-linked address on the Bitcoin Omni layer.

The firm believes the Bitcoin theft stemmed from vulnerabilities in LuBian’s private key generation system, which may have allowed brute-force attacks.

While 11,886 BTC, worth roughly $1.35 billion, remains untouched in LuBian’s wallet, none of the stolen coins have moved since July 2024.

Interestingly, LuBian attempted to communicate with the attacker using Bitcoin’s OP_RETURN feature.

In two transactions, the team wrote: “To the whitehat who is saving our asset, you can contact us… to discuss the return of asset and your reward.”

The message included an email address, but it’s unclear if the hacker ever replied.

While the Mt. Gox collapse involved more BTC, the LuBian breach is the largest confirmed crypto theft by value at the time of the incident.

Bitcoin Hacks, Theft Cost Investors $2.2B in H1 2025: CertiK

Crypto investors lost over $2.2 billion to hacks, scams, and breaches in the first half of 2025, driven largely by wallet compromises and phishing attacks, according to CertiK’s latest security report.

Wallet breaches alone caused $1.7 billion in losses across just 34 incidents, while phishing scams accounted for over $410 million across 132 attacks.

Two major incidents, including Bybit’s $1.5 billion hack in February and Cetus Protocol’s $225 million exploit in May, skewed the year’s losses upward, together accounting for nearly $1.78 billion.

Without these, losses align more closely with previous years at around $690 million.

Ethereum remained the primary target, suffering over $1.6 billion in losses across 175 events.

The report also pointed to rising sophistication of phishing schemes and ongoing risks from social engineering, urging crypto users to verify links, avoid suspicious sites, and use hardware wallets.

(Test) Static IPv6 in the home in the public mining pool? https://earlybirdsinvest.com/test-static-ipv6-in-the-home-in-the-public-mining-pool/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/test-static-ipv6-in-the-home-in-the-public-mining-pool/#respond Sun, 03 Aug 2025 05:39:57 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/test-static-ipv6-in-the-home-in-the-public-mining-pool/

A friend is trying to set up a publicly available test mining pool.

My current ISP is Verizon Wireless Home Internet. I’m pretty annoyed with them. You can easily see them delivering dynamic IPv6 in my house. But they want to charge me an extra fee each Static IPv6 address!

I am trying to establish a service that is accessible to the outside world. Static IPv6 addresses do not work as they change the IPv6 prefix every time the router restarts. The server reassigns the new address.

Am I completely dependent on my ISP for this? Can I establish/maintain a static IPv6 address? Is it the problem of getting other hardware/software?

My wireless router is the ARC-XCI55AX (standard “white cube”). I’m in Oakland, USA.

How to connect Bitaxe if you are running a public pool instance in Umbrel and using tail scale https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-connect-bitaxe-if-you-are-running-a-public-pool-instance-in-umbrel-and-using-tail-scale/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-connect-bitaxe-if-you-are-running-a-public-pool-instance-in-umbrel-and-using-tail-scale/#respond Sat, 19 Jul 2025 18:25:17 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-connect-bitaxe-if-you-are-running-a-public-pool-instance-in-umbrel-and-using-tail-scale/

To answer this question, if you already have an umbrella running tail scales, it’s mostly a fight. Once you have installed the tail scale and the Bitcoin node is fully synced, you can start Bitaxe and Public-Pool.

The documentation seems pretty sparse right now, but if you follow it, it seems to work well. To run a public pool from umbrella, install that add-on and then use “umbrel.local” in the public pool settings as the address of the TCP+Stratum user, port number: 2018, and Bitcoin node (which can be found from Umbrel’s Lightning Node add-on app by selecting “Deposit” in the “Bitcoin Wallet” section). You can use a different Bitcoin address for improved security. It provides the easiest “start” way to minify to your node’s address.

Once this is done, make sure your settings have been changed to use the BTC address of your umbrella. Note that finding Axeos webpage is as easy as checking what the new IP address is to see the Bitaxe output, as after updating your Bitaxe WiFi settings and using your own WiFi network, you will get a new IP address assigned by your router or DHCP server. Enter that IP address in your web browser and the Axeos web page will load immediately. After updating the BTC address of the Axeos web page, save it and restart Bitaxe.

Now this does not mean you are earning the SAT you are mining in your pool – that only happens if you are lucky enough in a pool of Bitaxe rigs to hit the solution that earns 3.125 BTC every 10 minutes. Due to the advantages of incremental SATS, it is necessary to minify directly into a centralized mine pool. But that means that if you add proof of work to the larger Bitcoin community and other large-scale mining operations go down temporarily or permanently, we are all contributing to the decentralized value of Bitcoin by continuing to find solutions and enjoy rewards. Additionally, the added hash power makes it increasingly difficult for state governments to take more than 51% of their total hash power.

Suhail Kakar, a developer at TAC, explained on X that the exploit was a type of “re-entrancy” attack, where the smart contract was tricked into believing no funds had been withdrawn yet. This allowed the attacker to repeatedly create new GLP tokens using the same original funds.

Blockchain security firm PeckShield noted that the wallet used in the attack had been funded through Tornado Cash, likely to hide the trail. The stolen funds are currently stored in that wallet, while investigators attempt to track the transactions.

In response, GMX stopped all V1 trading on both Arbitrum and Avalanche, and also disabled GLP minting and leverage trading.

Resupply, a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, confirmed a breach in one of its markets, which resulted in the loss of around $9.6 million worth of crypto assets. How did the incident happen? Read the full story.

BTC.com Mining Pool Drives 98% of Bitcoin Miner Flows to Binance https://earlybirdsinvest.com/btc-com-mining-pool-drives-98-of-bitcoin-miner-flows-to-binance/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/btc-com-mining-pool-drives-98-of-bitcoin-miner-flows-to-binance/#respond Fri, 27 Jun 2025 00:14:07 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/btc-com-mining-pool-drives-98-of-bitcoin-miner-flows-to-binance/

The BTC.com mining pool currently dominates miner flows to Binance, as it now accounts for nearly 98% of all BTC transfers from miners to the exchange.

This trend provides critical insight into miner behavior, according to the latest report by CryptoQuant.

Bitcoin Miners Show Patience

Historically, BTC.com increases its outflows to Binance when Bitcoin’s price rises, indicating strategic profit-taking at local tops. On the other hand, when flows drop, it reflects growing miner confidence, as they choose to hold their Bitcoin rather than sell.

Interestingly, despite Bitcoin trading above $100K in recent months, BTC.com’s flows to Binance have sharply declined. This suggests that miners are anticipating further price appreciation and are reducing selling pressure, potentially supporting a more sustained rally.

“Miners are among the smartest players in the market. Watching their moves helps us understand where we are in the cycle.”

Zooming out, a deeper look at network-level data reveals a “seasonal” trend.

Hash Rate Seasonality

The latest development comes as Bitcoin briefly fell below $100,000 this weekend after reports emerged of a US strike on Iranian nuclear sites, dropping to $98,000 in a swift response to geopolitical tensions. However, the dip was short-lived, as the crypto asset rebounded by early Monday.

Despite the recent price milestones, Bitcoin’s on-chain transaction fees remain weak, as per the latest observation by Digital Mining Solutions. In 2025, fees have consistently accounted for less than 1% of the total block reward and have failed to offset the halving-induced subsidy cuts. This weak fee environment means miner revenue, or hash price, is tightly correlated to Bitcoin’s price.

When BTC falls, hashprice drops nearly in sync, with minimal fee support to cushion the decline. Bitcoin’s network hash rate has been highly volatile this year, and has seen several record highs and sharp drops. It peaked at 950 EH/s in mid-June before plunging to 827 EH/s – a 13% decline. This pattern of surges followed by steep corrections has been consistent, with seasonal factors playing a role.

With around half of US mining centered in Texas, heatwaves and energy curtailments in the summer often cause hash rate dips.

A recent exploit targeting Meta Pool resulted in the attacker walking away with just over $132,000 worth of Ethereum
ETH

$2,253.71

, despite mining nearly $27 million in tokens.

Meta Pool stated in a blog post published on June 17 that this was due to a combination of low trading activity in the token’s markets and a fast response from Meta Pool’s team, who paused the affected smart contract soon after identifying the issue.

The attacker exploited a flaw in Meta Pool’s “fast unstake functionality“, according to co-founder Claudio Cossio.

Normally, when someone unstakes their cryptocurrency, there is a delay before they can use it again. The fast version skips that waiting period under certain conditions. This shortcut allowed the attacker to issue 9,705 units of mpETH, the platform’s token used for staking.

According to Meta Pool, the exploit used the ERC4626 mint() function to create these tokens without proper permission. The attacker then tried to swap the fake mpETH for actual ETH across different pools on Ethereum and Optimism. They were able to get only 52.5 ETH, which was worth just over $132,000.

PeckShield confirmed that the contract had a major flaw, but the limited market depth of mpETH made it hard to profit from. Some of the swap pools targeted had very little liquidity, which kept the losses low.

Meta Pool’s team reassured users that all staked Ethereum remains safe. Those funds are handled by operators on the SSV Network, who continue to validate transactions and earn staking rewards.

June 16th, 2025 – West Midlands, United Kingdom

As the crypto market shifts into a new phase defined by real-world adoption and protocol maturity, infrastructure services like cloud mining are becoming more attractive to everyday users.

Already featured on GlobeNewswire and other leading platforms, FansHash is now bringing its zero-barrier, multi-coin cloud mining solution to an even wider audience.

With the Federal Reserve easing its tightening stance and crypto ETFs gaining global traction, top-tier cryptocurrencies are leading the charge. The market is moving beyond speculative cycles, embracing real-world applications and protocol-level utility.

  • ETH has surged past $4,000, fueled by Layer 2 expansion and significantly reduced gas fees. No longer just a complement to Bitcoin, Ethereum is now the backbone of the smart contract ecosystem.
  • ADA is gaining momentum after the full deployment of Hydra and the Vasil upgrade. With on-chain performance metrics climbing rapidly, the $0.75 resistance level is under pressure, and a breakout could be imminent.
  • DOT is thriving as Polkadot’s parachain ecosystem reaches full activation. Its cross-chain capabilities have taken a major leap forward, pushing DOT back to $12 and reestablishing it as a key cross-chain protocol.

This rally is not about short-term speculation. It’s the result of years of protocol development and real utility reaching market readiness.

But in every cycle, the biggest winners aren’t the ones chasing prices—they’re the ones owning the means of production.

As prices rise, coins become harder to buy. But FansHash Mining users aren’t buying crypto—they’re mining it.

How to choose the minimum difficulty when mining in a slash pool https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-choose-the-minimum-difficulty-when-mining-in-a-slash-pool/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-choose-the-minimum-difficulty-when-mining-in-a-slash-pool/#respond Mon, 09 Jun 2025 12:12:36 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-choose-the-minimum-difficulty-when-mining-in-a-slash-pool/ I’m mining on a single Ant Miner S9 with a slash pool.

There is a setting called “minimum difficulty”.
Enter the image description here

When I read their manual, Item #8 state

The pool automatically assigns difficulty levels to correspond to minor hashrates.

my Scoring hashrate and Hashrate It matches what my mine manufacturer advertises: 13.5 th/s

And my default is also set to 128.

However, even reading the manual, you will see that you need to set the minimum difficulty level to 1024 at 1/s and increase linearly with the hashrate.

According to the table, my difficulty should be 13312, which is 13 times. This is much higher than the 128 pool.

Do I need to set the minimum difficulty level?

I tried to understand the minimum difficulty, but I couldn’t find a clear and simple explanation of what this number represents.
