Two of South Korea’s biggest political parties are on the centre stage, and have announced their rival Stubcoin bills within the country. The ban on paying interest on Stablecoins is the most controversial issue in the Stablecoin bill.

Lawmakers from both the ruling Democratic Party (DP) and the opposition People’s Rights Party (PPP) introduced laws in late July 2025 that could pave the way for winning stubcoins.

According to a local news report released on July 28, 2025,His ruling party believes interest payments should be banned to prevent market disruption, but the opposition believes that winning stubcoins need to be competitive. ”

Each proposal reflects differences in innovation, protection and financial sovereignty.

South Korea’s bill addresses the growing advantage of USD-based stubcoins

South Korean Democratic Party member Ando-Geol has introduced the “Law on the Issuance and Distribution of Valued Digital Assets.” On the same day, People Power Member Eun-Hye Kim introduced “Payment Innovation Method Using Fixed-Price Digital Assets.”

The DP initiative is the country’s first comprehensive legislative blueprint to specifically manage stubcoins that support South Korea’s victory. Meanwhile, the opposition PPP has submitted its own version that emphasizes stricter financial discipline and explicitly prohibits Stablecoin Holdings’ interest payments.

The newly elected South Korean president, Lee Jae-myeon, has openly advocated for stubcoin, and his administration shows that it will fill a major gap in the country’s financial environment.

Jae-Myung proposes low company eligibility in defending Stablecoins, as a 500m winner ($370,000) to be able to issue Stablecoins.

South Korea suspends CBDC plans as Stablecoins acquire the ground

Increased market penetration and the adoption of stubcoin have put dampers on South Korea’s CBDC plan. The country has applied the brakes to its continued CBDC trial program since April this year, triggering the revival of Stablecoin amid political support.

The Bank of Korea (BOK) confirmed the current situation in a statement given to Bloomberg via its representative on June 30, 2025.

Additionally, senior representatives of one of the seven banks participating in the CBDC trial in South Korea have informed local publications of how the CBDC will consolidate until the central bank sees the government’s Stablecoin strategy.

British Cabinet Office Minister Pat McFadden has questioned the political donations made in Crypto. According to a Guardian report issued on July 18, 2025, McFadden, an intimate ally of British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer, said, “While democracy funding is often a controversial area, I think it’s very important to know who is providing donations.

Important discussions about crypto regulations have been cleaned up in both the UK and the US. In the US, President Donald Trump has announced that he will accept code donations. In fact, Thumzup Media Corporation, a Donald Trump JR-backed advertising technology startup, has secured board approval to hold up to $250 million in crypto. Meanwhile, the UK government is taking steps to “protect democracy.”

“Protection of democracy is one of the government’s most important duties. The increased risk that crypto donations, and crypto will be used to lead to British politics, is a clear and current danger to democratic integrity,” said Tom Brake, director of the Unlocked Democracy Campaign Group.

The UK is implementing serial crypto reforms through HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The UK government has introduced another drastic regulatory move driven by the adoption of the Economic Co-operation and Development Organization (OECD) Crypto Asset Reporting Framework (CARF). Starting January 1, 2026, all cryptographic companies must collect and disclose detailed user and transactional data.

“If you are offering CryptoAsset services in the UK starting January 1, 2026, you will have a new responsibility to collect and report data. HMRC” said the May 14, 2025 announcement.

All CryptoAsset service providers (both domestic and foreign platforms that serve UK clients) are required to collect and report extensive information about all users and all transactions. This includes address, country of residence, national insurance number, unique taxpayer references, and more.

It is set to prohibit Crypto purchases with credit cards and loans

If you are using a credit card to purchase Crypto in the UK, it may be numbered on that day. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has officially proposed rules to prevent retail investors from using borrowed funds to purchase cryptocurrency. This includes credit cards, personal loans, and even loans from crypto-specific lenders. However, some crypto users are worried that the UK ban will block innovation and limit access to the market.

The move is part of a broader effort to protect consumers from acquiring debts that chase unstable digital assets. And as more people are jumping into the code with money they don’t actually have, the UK’s top financial watchdogs are ringing their alarms.

Elon Musk has stirred up Washington by announcing that his yet‑to‑be‑registered “The American Party” will back Bitcoin. His move comes as he takes aim at what he calls wasteful government spending and vows to shake up the status quo.

Musk’s short statement—that “fiat is hopeless”—has already sent ripples through both political and crypto circles.

    Musk Launches Political Bid

According to Musk’s recent tweet, his new centrist party will start by fielding candidates for the US Senate and House. He’s on record saying he won’t jump straight to a White House run.

Instead, he plans to build out support at the state level first. This measured approach reflects the massive effort needed to get on ballots: most states demand tens of thousands of signatures for each race. Musk will need a ground game rivaling established parties.

    Bitcoin Figures Front And Center

Based on reports, Musk isn’t just talking the talk. Two of his companies, Tesla and SpaceX, hold a combined 19,794 BTC—11,509 at Tesla and 8,285 at SpaceX.

That stash is worth about $2.1 billion at current prices. He’s also said he personally holds Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin. By tying his political project to Bitcoin, Musk is likely appealing to the same audience that powered US President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign on crypto buzz.

The price of Bitcoin has barely budged on the news. The coin sits at $108,772, showing no clear spike or dip. Traders seem to view this more as another Musk headline than a sign of concrete policy change.

Volatility has hit 30 % swings in recent months, so any real plan to take campaign funds or taxes in Bitcoin would face tough questions about price swings.

Bitcoin is expected to play a major role in Musk's political push. Image: FXEmpire

    Regulatory And Logistical Hurdles

Based on public filings, no “Department of Government Efficiency” exists—Musk’s DOGE jibe is just a nod to Dogecoin fans. Actual agencies like the IRS and SEC would need to weigh in if a political party tried to use Bitcoin for donations or payments.

US campaign finance laws cap donations and demand strict reporting. Converting crypto to cash quickly, especially during sell‑offs, could trigger accounting nightmares.

BTCUSD now trading at $108,847. Chart: TradingView

Getting on ballots is another mountain. Each state has unique rules on deadlines, forms and signature thresholds. Some require petitions submitted more than a year before an election.

Musk will have to hire or mobilize coordinate teams to track hundreds of deadlines. Failure in just one key state could keep him off that state’s ballot entirely.

The real test will come if Musk files party paperwork and publishes a plan for handling crypto volatility and compliance.

Blockchain investigators shared that a new wave of crypto-related scams is driven by political meme coins, weak regulation, and dropped legal cases.

On June 19, ZachXBT shared on X that dishonest behavior in the industry is a concern, as public figures and influencers who promote questionable projects often face no consequences.

He noted that some crypto creators can mislead followers and still avoid any real punishment.

Still, ZachXBT pointed out that there is a difference in how certain actions are treated. More direct forms of theft, such as phishing, wallet hacking, or online robbery, are still likely to bring legal trouble.

He explained that, compared to gray-area activities like misleading promotions, clear-cut crimes are more likely to be punished.

He also said regulators have often focused on the wrong targets. Rather than pursuing projects that hide paid promotions or mislead buyers, officials have instead spent time investigating open-source developers and established platforms.

Another investigator, Taylor Monahan, shared in a June 18 post on X that bad actors in crypto are unlikely to stop as long as they can make money quickly and face few consequences.

Monahan also mentioned that many long-time scammers have made major profits using methods such as fake online relationships, malware, or even tools linked to nation-state hackers. She said that if crypto ceased to exist, ransomware groups would take the biggest hit.

Telegram founder ‘flatly refused’ to censor political content ahead of Romanian election https://earlybirdsinvest.com/telegram-founder-flatly-refused-to-censor-political-content-ahead-of-romanian-election/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/telegram-founder-flatly-refused-to-censor-political-content-ahead-of-romanian-election/#respond Mon, 19 May 2025 01:36:49 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/telegram-founder-flatly-refused-to-censor-political-content-ahead-of-romanian-election/

Social media platform Telegram founder Pavel Durov said he “flatly refused” the request of a Western European government to censor conservative political content. In a Telegram post on May 18, Durove wrote:

“Telegram will not restrict the freedoms of Romanian users or block their political channels.”

The demand for censorship came ahead of today’s scheduled Romanian presidential elections. Nicusor Dan, a mathematician turned liberal mayor of Bucharest, defeated right-wing nationalist opponent George Simion today to become the President of Romania.

    Allegations of interference against France

In his post, Durov did not explicitly name the country that asked for the censorship. However, he hinted at it with a baguette emoji, understandably pointing to France. Durov wrote:

“You can’t “defend democracy” by destroying democracy. You can’t “fight election interference” by interfering with elections. You either have freedom of speech and fair elections — or you don’t. And the Romanian people deserve both.”

According to a BBC report, however, France claimed that the allegations of interference were “completely unfounded.” This prompted Durov to openly name France and its representative who placed the request.

In a later X post, Durov stated that he met with Nicolas Lerner, head of French intelligence, at the Salon des Batailles in the Hôtel de Crillon. At the meeting, Lerner asked Durov to “ban” conservative political content on Telegram ahead of the Romanian elections.

Durov added that Telegram did not impinge on the rights of protestors in Russia, Belarus, or Iran, and “won’t start doing it in Europe.”

After Dan’s victory, French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron, in an X post, announced that he had called and congratulated Dan, but did not deny that attempts to manipulate the election results had existed. While pledging France’s support, Macron wrote:

“Despite numerous attempts at manipulation, Romanians tonight chose democracy, the rule of law, and the European Union.”

Durov gained limelight after his arrest in France last year

After French authorities arrested Durov in August 2024, he gained prominence in the crypto community that valued his stance on free speech, privacy, and individual liberties. French prosecutors charged Durov with being complicit in the facilitation of crimes like child pornography and drug trafficking through Telegram.

The crypto community condemned the arrest in an open letter and accused the French government of violating human rights. The next day, Durov was granted a €5 million bail and placed under judicial supervision. In March, a French court granted Durov’s request to modify his bail conditions, allowing him several weeks of leave to visit Dubai.

Meme Coins Are Evolving: 3 Projects Fueling the AI and Political Crypto Frenzy https://earlybirdsinvest.com/meme-coins-are-evolving-3-projects-fueling-the-ai-and-political-crypto-frenzy/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/meme-coins-are-evolving-3-projects-fueling-the-ai-and-political-crypto-frenzy/#respond Sun, 04 May 2025 16:22:23 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/meme-coins-are-evolving-3-projects-fueling-the-ai-and-political-crypto-frenzy/

If you thought meme coins were just about dogs and frogs, think again.

The latest catalysts for crypto’s most chaotic sector are politics, artificial intelligence, and the surreal headlines that come with them.

A Nasdaq-listed freight company is building a $20M Trump-themed meme coin war chest.

Vice President JD Vance recently defended an AI-generated image of Donald Trump as the Pope, posted by Trump himself on Truth Social – sparking backlash and reigniting debate over deepfakes.

And Elon Musk’s Grok AI is under fire from MAGA supporters for going ‘woke.’

In this environment, meme coins aren’t just internet jokes – they’re becoming cultural barometers. They ride the highs of hype and the lows of outrage. And today, some of them are looking a lot less like memes and a lot more like moonshots.

When Politics and AI Fuel the Fire

What connects a trucking company’s crypto investments, presidential deepfakes, and chatbot controversies? Simple: attention.

In a media landscape fueled by outrage and virality, meme culture has become a tool – and new crypto projects are wielding it masterfully.

A publicly traded logistics firm Freight Technologies made waves by reportedly amassing $20M to back Trump-themed meme coins. That’s not your average meme play – that’s institutional money betting on internet culture, with serious election-year overtones.

While critics saw it as distasteful, JD Vance stepped in to defend the post, calling it ‘funny’ and suggesting people should ‘lighten up.’

Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s Grok – his AI chatbot built to deliver ‘the truth’ – is facing backlash from parts of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) community.

    Grok turning 'woke'

Why? Because Grok pointed out a few uncomfortable facts, leading some to claim the bot had turned ‘woke.’

This cultural chaos is perfect fuel for meme coins. They thrive on stories, feed on conflict, and turn outrage into opportunity.

    1. BTC Bull Token ($BTCBULL) – Where Meme Culture Meets Real Bitcoin Rewards

BTC Bull Token ($BTCBULL) is a turbo-charged, Bitcoin-themed community token built to ride $BTC’s next surge to $1M.

Designed for the crypto crowd that’s both bullish on Bitcoin and politically fired-up, $BTCBULL blends meme culture, rewards, and smart tokenomics in a way few projects dare to.

Here’s the twist: $BTCBULL rewards its holders with real Bitcoin – not more tokens, not some mystery airdrop, but actual $BTC.

Every time Bitcoin crosses a major price milestone (like $150K or $200K), presale buyers and holders who use Best Wallet automatically receive Bitcoin. That’s on top of up to 119% APY in staking rewards for locking in your tokens.

However, you need to buy and hold your $BTCBULL in Best Wallet in order to receive these airdrops.

    BTC Bull project milestones

There’s also a deflationary mechanic built in. As Bitcoin breaks key thresholds (like $125K, $175K, or $225K), $BTCBULL’s supply is burned, reducing the total number of tokens and boosting scarcity.

With a presale haul of over $5.3M and a current price of just $0.002495, $BTCBULL has already attracted a growing crowd of early believers – not just in the memes, but in the long-term upside of riding Bitcoin’s momentum with real, built-in rewards.

    2. Mind of Pepe ($MIND) – The Meme Coin With a Mind of Its Own

Mind of Pepe ($MIND) isn’t just riding the AI hype wave – it’s building it. This is the first major meme coin to come with its own self-sovereign AI agent, designed to interact with the crypto world in real time and give holders a serious edge.

At its core, $MIND is powered by an evolving AI that operates independently on platforms like X, analyzing the hive mind of the crypto community on X to spot trends before they happen.

    $MIND presale post on X

It doesn’t just observe – it engages, influences, and even stirs up conversations. And here’s the kicker: only those who buy and hold $MIND get access to the insights it uncovers, delivered via token-gated channels.

But it doesn’t stop at alpha leaks. Mind of Pepe can interact with dApps, deploy its own tokens, and give holders first-in access to trading opportunities it helps create. It’s a frog with influence – and a wallet.

The project’s utility goes beyond hype.

From token-gated content and staking rewards (for crypto presale buyers) to early access to new tokens launched by the AI itself, $MIND is built for those who want actionable benefits, not just memes.

Currently priced at $0.0037515, and with over $8.7M raised in its presale, $MIND isn’t just riding the cultural chaos of AI and memes. It’s learning from it, evolving through it — and turning it into alpha.

    3. Dawgz AI ($DAGZ) – Turning Internet Hype into AI-Powered Gains

Dawgz AI ($DAGZ) is shaking up the meme coin scene by mixing AI utility with meme-worthy flair.

It’s not just about hype – this Ethereum-based project gives holders access to real tech, including proprietary Blackbox AI trading bots that operate 24/7.

These bots are designed to scan markets, identify opportunities, and fine-tune strategies in real time, giving users a potential edge in a volatile space.

But that’s not all. $DAGZ holders can stake their tokens for passive income, with competitive APYs and a staking pool funded from the project’s smart tokenomics.

Out of the total 8.8B token supply, 30% is allocated to presale buyers, while 20% is reserved for staking rewards – reinforcing long-term growth.

Currently priced at $0.004, with the next price set at $0.00438, Dawgz AI has already raised $3.4M in its presale.

How to buy Dawgz AI Presale

That early traction suggests this is more than just a dog with a digital bark – it’s a full-stack AI platform in meme coin form, aiming to bring brains to the blockchain.

Meme Coins Just Got an Upgrade

Today’s meme coins are more than hype – they’re wired into politics, AI, and real utility.

BTC Bull Token pays you in Bitcoin airdrops. Mind of Pepe gives holders access to AI-driven alpha and early token launches. Dawgz AI brings automated trading tools and staking into the meme space.

These projects aren’t just following trends – they’re shaping them. In a world this weird, your next moonshot might come from a frog, a bull, or an AI-powered dog.

And don’t forget to always do your own research (DYOR) before investing.

U.S. crypto firms’ push for deregulation and political contributions raises ‘red flags’: Report https://earlybirdsinvest.com/u-s-crypto-firms-push-for-deregulation-and-political-contributions-raises-red-flags-report/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/u-s-crypto-firms-push-for-deregulation-and-political-contributions-raises-red-flags-report/#respond Sat, 08 Mar 2025 21:22:52 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/u-s-crypto-firms-push-for-deregulation-and-political-contributions-raises-red-flags-report/

U.S. crypto firms were heavily vested in President Donald Trump’s reelection in 2024, contributing upwards of $144 million towards his campaign. But “unchecked political spending” poses “profound risks,” according to a report published by the Center for Political Accountability (CPA), a nonprofit promoting transparency in corporate political contributions.

The report states that the crypto companies’ “aggressive push for deregulation, combined with opaque and unaccountable political contributions,” has raised “red flags among the regulators.” More importantly, it has “eroded investor confidence and public trust in the long-term viability of these companies.”

Crypto firms donated heavily to re-elect Trump, and it’s paying off

U.S. crypto firms’ political spending reached “an unprecedented scale” during Trump’s re-election campaign, especially Coinbase and Ripple, the report said.

Coinbase’s political action committee (PAC) donated over $79 million for Trump’s re-election, according to data from OpenSecrets, a platform that tracks political donations. Ripple was the second-largest donor among crypto firms with contributions exceeding $63.6 million.

Coinbase also donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration committee while Ripple donated $5 million in digital assets. Additionally, Coinbase has committed to donating $25 million for the 2026 mid-term elections.

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the founders of the crypto exchange Gemini, donated $1 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC) to Trump 47. Their donations exceeded the legal limit of $844,600 and they collectively received refunds of over $300,000.

All three exchanges were in hot water with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for years. In June 2023, the SEC charged Coinbase for operating as an unregistered securities exchange.

Ripple was embroiled in a legal battle with the SEC since 2020. In August 2024, Ripple secured a partial victory in court as the judge declared that XRP could not be classified as securities as they did not meet the Howey test. The SEC, however, has appealed the decision, which CEO Brad Garlinghouse has described as “insanity.”

Similarly, in January 2023, the SEC charged Gemini and Genesis for offering unregistered securities through their now-defunct Earn program. After a federal court denied the companies’ request to dismiss the SEC’s case, Genesis settled the case by paying $21 million. However, Gemini continued to fight.

Trump promised to fire SEC chair Gary Gensler, but Gensler resigned on Trump’s inauguration. Since then, the tables have turned and things have started to look up for crypto firms.

Last month, Cameron Winklevoss announced that the SEC dropped its investigation into the exchange. The company has now reportedly filed for an initial public offering (IPO) confidentially. Similarly, the SEC dismissed its case against Coinbase on Feb. 27.

Earlier this week, Trump also signed an executive order creating a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.

The risks of unchecked political spending could jeopardize the entire industry, CPA report claims

The CPA report claims that crypto companies have been using political contributions to gain political clout. This strategy poses reputational, legal, and financial risks, and could backfire, not only jeopardizing the future of the companies involved, but the entire industry.

    The report stated:

“As the [crypto] industry continues to seek influence through vast contributions and opaque financial maneuvers, the risks of instability, regulatory backlash, and public distrust only grow.”

The report also warned that historically, industries that prioritize short-term political gains over transparency and compliance often face grave consequences. This includes regulatory crackdowns and decline in consumer trust.

The CPA report also pointed out the conflicts of interests within the Trump administration that raise serious ethical questions. For instance, crypto investor David Sacks, Trump’s pick for ‘crypto czar,’ stands to make significant gains with the creation of the U.S. BTC stockpile.

Earlier this week, Sacks confirmed that he divested his personal crypto holdings before the start of the Trump administration. However, he is still a partner at his investment firm Craft Ventures, which holds stakes in crypto firms. Therefore, the investment firm, and thereby Sacks, could stand to profit from the U.S. government hodling Bitcoin.

“This specter of impropriety does nothing to assuage concerns about the pay-to-play nature of cryptocurrency,” the report noted.

The report also highlighted the dangers of political leaders promoting meme coins and fraud tokens. For instance, Argentinian President Javier Milei promoted a token called $LIBRA that lost around $4.6 billion within hours. Similarly, Trump promoted his own memecoin $TRUMP on 17 Jan. The token reached a peak of over $73 on Jan. 19, but has since lost over 83% of its value.

    The CPA report concluded:

“Without greater transparency and accountability, the very future of crypto’s legitimacy in the financial world remains uncertain.”

    FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried Getting Released? Last Ditch Political Effort Comes To Light https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ftxs-sam-bankman-fried-getting-released-last-ditch-political-effort-comes-to-light/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ftxs-sam-bankman-fried-getting-released-last-ditch-political-effort-comes-to-light/#respond Sun, 23 Feb 2025 18:06:20 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ftxs-sam-bankman-fried-getting-released-last-ditch-political-effort-comes-to-light/

The possibility of FTX’s co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) being released from prison has arisen again. This comes following his latch ditch political efforts to gain a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.

Sam Bankman-Fried Seeks To Gain Favor From Donald Trump

Sam Bankman-Fried is looking to get in Donald Trump’s good books and possibly get a pardon from the US president. In a recent interview with the New York Sun, SBF moved to throw the Democratic party and Biden’s administration under the bus in hopes of gaining sympathy from Trump and the Republican party.

The crypto founder stated that he was really “frustrated and disappointed with what [he] saw of Biden’s administration of the Democratic party. It is worth mentioning that SBF was one of the biggest donors of the biggest donors of the Democratic party before he was convicted of fraud and misappropriation of customers’ funds and sentenced to 25 years on March 28, 2024.

The FTX co-founder also tried to gain sympathy from the current administration by showing support for Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E), which has been tasked with cutting government expenses. SBF said that some things need more than a 10% cut and added that it could go as far as 30,50, and 70%.

SBF has maintained his innocence up until now. In the interview, he once again mentioned that he doesn’t think anyone was guilty in reference to him and other FTX executives who were found guilty.

Before now, Bitcoinist had reported that Sam Bankman-Fried’s parents were appealing to Donald Trump to get a presidential pardon for their son. As such, this interview may be one of the avenues that SBF and his parents are using to get the US president’s attention.

FTX’s SBF Also Takes Aim At Biden’s Judiciary

Sam Bankman-Fried also criticized Judge Lewis Kaplan, the judge in charge of his case, and the Department Of Justice (DOJ) under Biden’s administration. The crypto founder lamented the “politicization of the DOJ over the last decades,” although he remarked that things look to be changing under Trump.

Interestingly, Kaplan was also the same judge who presided over the civil case against Trump in which the jury reached a verdict that he sexually abused and defamed E. Jean Carroll. SBF looked to take advantage of this common interest with Trump, stating that he knows the US president had a lot of frustrations with Judge Kaplan. He added that he did as well.

Sam Bankman-Fried filed an appeal last year in which one of his major arguments was that Judge Kaplan was biased. He suggested that the Judge had declared him guilty from the onset and didn’t give him a fair hearing in his case.

Sam Bankman-Fried could become the second crypto criminal that US President Donald Trump pardons. The president already pardoned Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht, a promise that he made even before he took office.
