TL;DR: Replace Microsoft 365 with a Microsoft Office 2024 Lifetime License on sale now for $169.97.

Probably one of the only things everyone on the internet can agree about is that software subscriptions are the worst. So I guess it’s pretty good news that one of the most popular software subscriptions anywhere is finally getting an alternative. Instead of paying $99.99 per year every single year for Microsoft 365, now you can get Microsoft Office 2024 for Mac or PC for $169.97 (it’s usually $249.99).

Microsoft apps you pay for once

This license works for Mac or PC, has no recurring costs of any kind, and is really easy to set up.

Here’s what you get:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Outlook
  • OneNote

These are the recent versions too, so you get all the cool AI improvements. Word can suggest phrasing as you write, Excel can crunch through huge spreadsheets without freezing, and PowerPoint now lets you record presentations with video and narration.

The apps also look and feel more polished. Office 2024 has a unified design across all programs, which makes switching between them less clunky. If you are using a tablet or a touchscreen laptop, the improved pen and touch support actually makes sketching notes or editing slides easier. Outlook even has a smarter search tool and a built-in accessibility checker to keep your emails clear and professional.

The real selling point, though, is the lifetime license. Paying once means you can use Office 2024 for years without another bill. Updates are still included, so you are not stuck with an outdated version, but you also avoid the endless subscription cycle.

Right now, it’s only $169.97 to get Microsoft Office 2024 Home and Business, but it won’t stay that way.

Office 2021 + Windows 11 Pro for $45 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/office-2021-windows-11-pro-for-45/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/office-2021-windows-11-pro-for-45/#respond Mon, 08 Sep 2025 11:19:25 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/office-2021-windows-11-pro-for-45/

TL;DR: Why buy them separately when you can grab both Office Pro 2021 and Windows 11 Pro together for under $45?

If we’re being honest, many “upgrades” are just excuses to drain your wallet with subscriptions you’ll forget you signed up for. But this? This is the unicorn of software bundles. For less than what you spent on brunch last weekend, you can grab both Microsoft Office Professional 2021 and Windows 11 Pro for just $45.

Think of it as a two-for-one glow-up for your computer. On one side, you’ve got Office 2021 — the classic productivity suite that still rules the corporate universe. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, and Teams are all here, and you don’t need to worry about compatibility issues ever again. Your documents will play nice with colleagues, clients, or that one cousin who wants you to read his short stories.

On the other side, Windows 11 Pro steps in as the slick, secure upgrade your machine has been begging for. Cleaner design? Check. AI-assisted Copilot to handle the grunt work? Absolutely. Better security and professional features like BitLocker and remote desktop access? Built right in. Whether you’re running a small business, freelancing, or just trying to stop your PC from acting like it’s stuck in 2010, Windows 11 Pro has got you.

Plus, this isn’t going to get you another monthly bill. It’s a one-time payment that locks in a lifetime license for both. No renewal notices. No hidden fees. Just modern software, forever.

Getting MS Office and Windows 11 Pro for $45 (MSRP: $418.99) will help future-proof your workflow in an instant.

TL;DR: Upgrade to Windows 11 Pro and get Microsoft Office for life for just $54.97 (86% off).

Keeping your computer up to date can be expensive. Your PC needs the latest operating system for speed and security, but you also need the tools to actually get work done. Too often, that means paying for each upgrade separately or locking yourself into monthly subscriptions that add up fast. This bundle solves both problems with one purchase, and it couldn’t come at a better time.

Windows 10 support officially ends in October 2025, which means no more security updates or patches. If you’re still running it, you’ll be more vulnerable to cyberattacks and software incompatibilities. Upgrading to Windows 11 Pro now ensures you’ll have the latest features, security protections, and full compatibility with future updates, while pairing it with Office 2021 Pro gives you the productivity powerhouse to match.

The UK government is preparing to offload billions of pounds worth of seized Bitcoin, as pressure mounts on Chancellor Rachel Reeves to plug a widening budget gap.

Key Takeaways:

  • The UK government is planning to sell over £5 billion in seized Bitcoin to help ease fiscal pressures.
  • A centralized framework is being developed to manage storage and sales, with the Treasury closely monitoring potential proceeds.
  • Experts warn against a hasty sell-off, drawing parallels to the UK’s poorly timed gold sale in 1999.

Working alongside police forces, the Home Office is designing a centralized framework to store and sell confiscated digital assets, according to a report from The Telegraph.

The plan, dubbed the “crypto storage and realisation framework,” could enable the sale of more than £5 billion ($6.5 billion) in Bitcoin, most of it recovered from historic criminal investigations.

A single 2018 raid alone netted 61,000 BTC, now valued at over £5.4 billion, after prices hit $123,000 last week.

Treasury Monitors Crypto Seizures as Law Enforcement Leads Sales

While law enforcement handles the seizures and sales, the Treasury is reportedly keeping a close eye on the operation.

Any proceeds not returned to fraud victims are typically split between the central government and law enforcement programs.

Experts believe the Treasury could receive billions from the sales, providing a rare financial boost as Reeves faces the dual challenge of rising debt costs and weak economic growth.

“There is oil under our feet in terms of digital assets,” said Aidan Larkin, CEO of seizure specialist Asset Reality.

“I do think digital assets will lead to a large windfall for government agencies and the public purse over the next five to ten years.”

The Home Office had previously invited bids for the contract to manage the crypto sale system, with terms suggesting up to £40 million in commissions for the chosen provider.

While initial bids failed to meet requirements, the project is expected to continue in a revised form.

The 2018 seizure of Bitcoin tied to Chinese fraudster Jian Wen is now under review, with victims requesting restitution.

If the Treasury were to keep half of that haul, approximately £2.6 billion, it would go a long way toward easing fiscal pressures.

Former Chancellor Norman Lamont urged Reeves to “spend it right away,” but others warn against rushing.

UK’s Bitcoin Sell-Off Sparks Fears of “Another Gold Blunder”

Comparisons have already been drawn to Gordon Brown’s infamous 1999 gold sale, when the UK sold 401 tonnes of gold at rock-bottom prices, a decision that cost the country tens of billions.

Meanwhile, political voices have weighed in. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has called for the UK to establish a Bitcoin reserve, mirroring a move announced by Donald Trump in the U.S. Labour, however, rejected the idea, citing Bitcoin’s volatility.

Despite the risks, the size of the potential windfall makes it difficult to ignore.

“With the delays in court hearings that we’re getting now, you have to seize it and then maintain it for a long time,” said Cardiff University professor Michael Levi, an expert in criminal asset seizures.

Argentine Anti-Corruption Office clears President Milei of ethics violation over LIBRA promotion https://earlybirdsinvest.com/argentine-anti-corruption-office-clears-president-milei-of-ethics-violation-over-libra-promotion/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/argentine-anti-corruption-office-clears-president-milei-of-ethics-violation-over-libra-promotion/#respond Mon, 09 Jun 2025 04:18:15 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/argentine-anti-corruption-office-clears-president-milei-of-ethics-violation-over-libra-promotion/

Argentina’s Anti-Corruption Office has determined that President Javier Milei did not violate any ethics laws when he promoted the Solana-based LIBRA memecoin in February.

In a resolution issued on Friday, the office declared that Milei’s Feb. 14 X post constituted a personal statement rather than an official announcement as a public servant. Therefore, Milei’s post did not result in any ethics violations, the document signed by Alejandro Melik, head of the Anti-Corruption Office, stated.

The Anti-Corruption Office is a decentralized agency that reports to the Argentine Ministry of Justice. Its chief, Melik, was appointed by the Milei administration in December 2023.

The office had launched an investigation into whether Milei had engaged in any misconduct after the LIBRA token price rose and cratered within hours of his X post promoting the project. Milei himself had requested the investigation and even created a special task force he disbanded last month after it fulfilled its mandate to examine his ties to the LIBRA token.

The case is still being investigated by an Argentine federal court, which froze Milei and his sister’s assets amid the probe.

The LIBRA scandal

The scandal erupted when Milei published an X post that was largely construed as an endorsement by the Argentine President. The post that was deleted within six hours and contained links to the Viva La Libertad Project website and the token’s contract number, which helped investors find it on Solana, stated:

“This private project will be dedicated to stimulating the growth of the Argentine economy by funding small businesses and Argentine entrepreneurs.”

Immediately following Milei’s post, the price of LIBRA rose sharply to around $5, but tanked soon after. Several investors lost millions of dollars as the token’s value fell by around 95%. The scandal rocked the Argentine market, even leading to a stock market crash days later.

Immediately after the token lost value, triggering an uproar on social media, including allegations of insider trading, Milei deleted the post. In a new post on Feb. 15, he clarified that he had no ties to the project, but had decided to delete the previous post after learning about the details of the project.

On Feb. 18, Milei said that he “acted in good faith” when he “shared” the project, and had, therefore, “made no mistakes.” His intention was not to promote the memecoin but to raise awareness about an effort to support Argentine businesses using crypto.

The same day, however, a local media outlet reported that LIBRA co-creator Hayden Davis boasted about his ‘control’ over Milei, thanks to his donations to Milei’s sister, Karina Milei.

Public trust in Milei’s administration cratered after the scandal.

The findings of the Anti-Corruption Office

The Anti-Corruption Office classified Milei’s post as a personal, non-official activity by the President of Argentina. It reiterated that the post “did not imply any governmental activity” since it was published from Milei’s personal X account, which receives no official management contributions or public resources.

The resolution added that Milei’s X account, where he presents himself as an “economist” and not a public official, predates his term as a congressman. The bureau, therefore, declared that the post was an expression of his personal opinion, a civil and political right guaranteed by the constitution.

The conclusion was further strengthened by the fact that the message was not disseminated through any official governmental accounts. The document added:

“…the post under analysis did not refer to public policies, programs, government decisions, or announcements with legal or budgetary effects.”

South Korea’s new president, Lee Jae-myeon, has appointed Hashed Research CEO Kim Yong-Beom as chief policy officer of South Korea’s presidential office.

Before leading the Hashed Research, Crypto Fund Hashed think tank, Kim was vice minister of economy and finance during the Moon Jae-in administration.

In a previous interview with Hashed CEO Coindesk, he said the Lee administration is crypto-friendly and that local regulators are closely monitoring US crypto policy development with the aim of emulating them.

One of the first policy initiatives Kim Yong-Beom is working on is WON-based Stablecoin. This was identified by the newly elected President Lee as a priority to “prevent the wealth of its citizens from leaking abroad.”

2 Stocks That Plummeted During President Trump's First 100 Days in Office, and Where They Could Be Headed https://earlybirdsinvest.com/2-stocks-that-plummeted-during-president-trumps-first-100-days-in-office-and-where-they-could-be-headed/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/2-stocks-that-plummeted-during-president-trumps-first-100-days-in-office-and-where-they-could-be-headed/#respond Thu, 15 May 2025 09:22:01 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/2-stocks-that-plummeted-during-president-trumps-first-100-days-in-office-and-where-they-could-be-headed/ The stock market experienced quite a bit of volatility during President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office.

President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office occurred between Monday, Jan. 20, and Tuesday, April 29. During this period, the S&P 500 (^GSPC 0.10%) and Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC 0.72%) dropped by 7% and 11%, respectively.

From competing artificial intelligence (AI) platforms out of China, geopolitical tensions in Europe and the Middle East, and (of course) tariffs, there have been many factors putting pressure on the capital markets this year.

Let’s analyze two popular growth stocks that experienced outsized volatility during Trump’s first 100 days in office. More importantly, we’ll uncover why these stocks plummeted and assess where each could be headed going forward.

The White House at sunset.

1. Tesla

I can’t think of another company that’s been more tied to the Trump administration than Tesla (TSLA 4.09%). The chart below illustrates Tesla’s share price action between Nov. 5 (election night) and April 29.

TSLA Chart

Data by YCharts.

As the trends show, Trump’s election victory served as a brief catalyst for Tesla stock during the final months of 2024. There were two driving forces at play here.

First, Trump installed Tesla CEO Elon Musk to lead the executive order-created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) program, looking for waste and fraud in government departments. Second, given Musk’s close ties to Trump, it was reasonable to think he may have had an influence on certain regulatory matters as it relates to companies that Musk controls, including autonomous vehicle regulations — one of the primary catalysts for Tesla’s long-term growth.

Unfortunately, Musk’s actions with regard to DOGE saw severe backlash from the general public in the U.S. and internationally, which led to boycotts and a shunning of most organizations related to Musk. As a result, Tesla stock cratered by 31% during the first 100 days of the new administration. Musk’s divided attention toward DOGE and his association with it didn’t sit well with investors either. Wall Street appears to be concerned about Tesla’s brand reputation as well as the amount of time Musk is spending in Washington (and his other companies) as opposed to focusing on Tesla.

As of market close on May 12, Tesla stock has rebounded by 9% since the conclusion of Trump’s first 100 days (and Musk stepping away from such an active role with DOGE). The partial stock price recovery helped Tesla rejoin the trillion-dollar market cap club. While this might suggest that Tesla is recovering, I’m less sure.

Tesla stock is on the rise recently because the U.S. and China have temporarily eased up on their tariff war, which resulted in a broad bullish move across the stock market. As far as Tesla’s business is concerned, much remains to be seen regarding whether the company can navigate an increasingly competitive landscape in the electric vehicle (EV) industry as well as whether it can recover from the severe brand damage Musk has created.

2. Eli Lilly

During Trump’s first 100 days in office, share prices of pharmaceutical powerhouse Eli Lilly (LLY -4.22%) rose 22%. Admittedly, that’s a gain, but there’s more than meets the eye here.

LLY Chart

Data by YCharts.

As the chart above illustrates, shares of Lilly were under a lot of pressure for roughly half of Trump’s first 100 days only to experience a sharp rebound during the final week of April. Even so, shares of Lilly still trade below 52-week highs. I suspect that the stock could be headed for a nasty sell-off for two reasons.

First, pharmaceuticals have (so far) evaded the president’s tariff agenda. But that may soon change, as Trump recently hinted at imposing tariffs on pharmaceuticals sooner than later. On top of that, the President signed an executive order on May 11 to establish “most-favored-nation pricing” on all pharmaceuticals sold in the U.S. The idea here is that Trump wants to bring drug prices in the U.S. on par with other nations where medications are generally more affordable.

I suspect Lilly stock will face some headwinds in the short term until the market can sort out the actual effects these actions will have. In all likelihood, pharmaceutical businesses such as Lilly will fight against such an order (either through lawsuits or lobbying), putting a hold on any permanent changes for now. And these are all executive actions that are open to change by the current executive and by whoever eventually replaces him.

Investors should also remember that Lilly is a diversified operation with medications spanning multiple healthcare sectors, including GLP-1s, Alzheimer’s disease, eczema, and much more. And Lilly is a global business and is not entirely reliant on the U.S.

For these reasons, I think long-term investors should consider buying any dips that Lilly stock may experience in the near term.

Crypto.com is growing its U.S. presence with a new regional office in Washington, D.C.

This development comes as 21Shares has introduced a new Exchange-Traded Product (ETP) that gives investors regulated access to Crypto.com-supported blockchain Cronos.

Return to the American Market

According to a May 7 press release shared with CryptoPotato, the new office will be located in Downtown D.C., close to the White House.

“The U.S. market is central to the growth strategy of Crypto.com and the most exciting frontier for our entire industry,” said Matt David, President of North America and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at the exchange.

He explained that with the current Administration creating a more stable regulatory environment and key members of Congress taking the lead, expanding the company’s presence and workforce in the capital would help support their shared goals of responsibly growing both the business and the wider crypto industry.

The D.C. desk will mainly focus on handling public and government-related matters for the company’s operations in the country. This marks Crypto.com’s latest expansion in North America, following the opening of its regional headquarters in Tyler, Texas, in 2024.

Last month, the Singapore-based exchange also partnered with Trump Media to launch a series of crypto-related exchange-traded products expected to go live later this year. This move is part of a larger industry trend in which global crypto firms are returning to and stepping up their activities in the U.S.

Recently, OKX shared plans to reopen its American crypto exchange and launch a new Web3 wallet for users in the region. Crypto lender Nexo also announced its return to the country’s market due to a better regulatory environment under President Trump’s Administration.

21Shares Launches Cronos-Focused ETP

In related news, 21Shares has launched a new ETP that allows investors regulated access to the Cronos blockchain and its native CRO token.

“By launching a Cronos ETP, we are offering investors … regulated exposure to a blockchain ecosystem that is driving real-world adoption,” said Mandy Chiu, head of financial products development at 21Shares.

According to a statement, the ETP will be listed on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam under the ticker CRON. The new product has a 2.5% management fee and is designed to help investors access emerging Web3 infrastructure.

Cronos is a Layer 1 blockchain built to power decentralized finance (De-Fi), NFTs, and AI-driven Web3 applications. Compatible with both Ethereum and Cosmos, it aims to bridge centralized and decentralized systems.

Crypto.com played a key role in developing the network and remains a major contributor. The CRO token is used for transaction fees on the blockchain and offers various benefits on the exchange.
