Bitcoin’s new investor dominance is gaining momentum just as the asset consolidates in a tight range, setting the stage for a major breakout. After more than two weeks of sideways movement between $115,000 and $120,000, BTC continues to trade within this well-defined range—building pressure that typically precedes a sharp move.

Data from CryptoQuant highlights a crucial dynamic: the comparison between demand and supply from new versus old investors. The current new investor dominance sits at 30%, only half of the “overheated” range of 60–70% seen during euphoric phases, but the trend is clearly climbing. This means new liquidity is entering the market steadily, while old holders are still distributing at a manageable pace. The supply of long-term holders is absorbing this growing young demand without disrupting the price structure.

This healthy balance suggests that the market is still in a stable late bull phase, with no signs of mass profit-taking or capitulation from seasoned investors. With Bitcoin maintaining a bullish structure and demand from fresh entrants rising, the coming days will be critical.

Bitcoin Enters Healthy Late Bull Phase as New Investor Activity Grows

Top analyst Axel Adler recently shared detailed insights into Bitcoin’s market structure, focusing on the balance between new and old investor behavior. According to Adler, previous peaks in new investor dominance—64% in March 2024 and 72% in December 2024—aligned precisely with local BTC price tops. At those points, new liquidity began to wane, and experienced holders ramped up profit-taking.

Currently, new investor dominance stands at 30%, which is still far from those overheated extremes. However, the trend is upward. The purple fill on the chart, which reflects cumulative activity from younger coins, has been climbing steadily since July 2024. This indicates that a fresh wave of buyers continues to enter the market, while selling pressure from old hands remains limited.

This dynamic creates room for further bullish continuation before the typical euphoria zone—above 60–70% dominance—takes hold. Old holders are still distributing coins, but only moderately. A coefficient of 0.3 means that three-year-old coins are absorbing demand without triggering major volatility. This balance suggests that the market remains structurally sound.

Bitcoin Forms A Tight Consolidation Range

Bitcoin is currently trading at $118,413, consolidating in a narrow range between $115,724 and $122,077, as seen in the 8-hour chart. This sideways movement has persisted for over two weeks, indicating indecision in the market. The key support sits at $115,724, which has been tested multiple times but held firmly, while the $122,077 level acts as immediate resistance after a strong rejection earlier in July.

The price remains above the 50, 100, and 200-period moving averages, which now align in bullish order—another sign that the underlying trend is still intact despite short-term consolidation. Volume remains relatively low, suggesting that neither bulls nor bears are aggressively positioning at the moment. However, such tight ranges often precede large directional moves.

If bulls manage to break above the $122K resistance with strong volume, it could trigger a continuation toward new highs. On the other hand, a breakdown below the $115.7K support would expose downside risk. Potentially leading to a retest of the 100-period moving average around $114,490 or even the 200-period average near $110,188.

How mass decoy messaging protects whistleblowers — CoverDrop founder https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-mass-decoy-messaging-protects-whistleblowers-coverdrop-founder/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-mass-decoy-messaging-protects-whistleblowers-coverdrop-founder/#respond Sun, 29 Jun 2025 19:18:54 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-mass-decoy-messaging-protects-whistleblowers-coverdrop-founder/

Mass decoy messaging between news agencies and readers can help protect the identity of whistleblowers, according to Dr. Manny Ahmed, the founder of CoverDrop, a whistleblower protection tool, and OpenOrigins, a blockchain firm that provides data provenance for images and videos to ensure authenticity. Both tools work in symbiosis to ensure trusted communications.

In an interview with Cointelegraph, Dr. Ahmed said that CoverDrop works by sending out large amounts of decoy encrypted messaging traffic between the readers of a news platform and the news platform itself.

This creates the illusion that every reader is a whistleblower, thus drowning out the identity of any true whistleblowers in a sea of digital noise. The executive outlined the problem whistleblowers currently face in the age of digital surveillance:

“Whistleblowers are in a tricky position because, by definition, they are part of a small set that has access to privileged information. So, even if they use end-to-end encryption, the fact that they have ever had communication with a journalist is enough to single them out.

It does not matter that they can’t see the contents of the message; just the one-on-one relationship is enough,” Dr. Ahmed continued.

The CoverDrop and OpenOrigins founder warned that advances in AI and data surveillance tools would only increase the threat to privacy and anonymity over time, creating a need for more robust defenses against the emerging panopticon of the security surveillance state.

Dr. Ahmed noted that mass data collection by governments and intelligence agencies has been ongoing for over a decade but largely ineffective because there was no efficient way to filter through the large quantities of data collected.

“They needed to hire thousands of analysts to sit down and actually target people; with AI you do not need to do that anymore,” the executive told Cointelegraph.

The rise of agentic AI allows intelligence agencies to assign an AI agent for each individual that would track all their data and provide a much more comprehensive profile of a person’s activity at a low computational cost, the executive warned.

“The threat has just escalated a lot. So, the defense has to escalate a lot as well,” Dr. Ahmed added.

A North Carolina woman was sentenced to more than four years behind bars for carrying out an identity theft and bank fraud scheme that enabled her to spend money using the personal information of her victims.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of North Carolina, Jessica Bailey Sowell engaged in the scheme from March 2023 to February 2024.

Court records show that she created fraudulent identification documents using compromised personal identifying information (PII) that were obtained through stolen mail, the internet and other sources.

Sowell then used the fake documents at banks, hotels and retail stores. Investigators found that she had letters, bank cards and checks belonging to at least 26 victims of identity theft.

The 32-year-old was apprehended after a federal search warrant was executed at a hotel room where she was staying.

Investigators found a suitcase containing hundreds of mail with various names and addresses and another suitcase with store-tagged merchandise, two handwritten journals with the names and credit information of several individuals and 23 driver’s licenses from different states that show Sowell’s photograph and the PII of the identity theft victims.

They also seized from the rental vehicle that Sowell was using a credit card under the name of an ID theft victim, receipts for goods that were bought using the victim’s credit card, an identity card printer, multiple blank identity cards and holographic stickers.

Sowell, who is prohibited from possessing firearms, also kept a Taurus G3 9mm handgun in the hotel room.

On Monday, she was sentenced to 57 months of jail time followed by five years of supervised release for bank fraud, aggravated identity theft and unlawful possession of a firearm. She was also ordered to pay restitution to her victims in the amount of $47,190.25.

A telecom giant is offering 25 million people free SIM cards after a massive hack left its customers’ sensitive personal information at risk.

SK Telecom, the largest mobile provider in South Korea, acknowledged in a security notice that its customers’ personal data was exposed during a malware attack on the company.

The company said in an announcement last month that “no cases of misuse of the information have been confirmed to date.” However, local publication Korea JoongAng Daily is reporting that some of SK Telecom’s customers have discovered money stolen from their bank accounts after the hacking incident.

Police reportedly said that three days after the hack, a man had learned that his mobile plan with SK Telecom had suddenly been cancelled, and he was told by company employees at a service center that someone had signed up for a budget plan with another provider using his name.

Soon thereafter, the man discovered that 50 million Korean won – about $34,000 – had been stolen from his bank account by unknown people in five separate transactions. He then called the police and asked his bank to freeze his account.

Victims of the hack have formed an organization seeking collective action against SK Telecom, and are demanding a full investigation into the attack.

The group, dubbed the “SKT USIM Hacking Joint Response,” told Korea JoongAng Daily that they believe the worse is still yet to come from the data breach, and that the telecom giant’s reaction to the mishap has been underwhelming.

“The leaked information could lead to serious secondary damage across financial, social networking and other services that rely on mobile phone number authentication… SK Telecom’s response has been extremely insufficient.

The scope and extent of the damage have not been clearly revealed, which has amplified user anxiety and confusion.”

SK Telecom subsequently offered free SIM cards for all 25 million customers.

However, the company now says it’s only able to get ahold of 6 million SIM cards for the entire month of May, meaning that it will take some time for it to follow through on its compensation plan.

Says the company in an update,

“[SK Telecom] currently has 1 million SIMs and plans to secure 5 million more SIMs by the end of May. However, since many customers are coming at once and waiting times are expected to be long, please check in advance through the online reservation application system.”

Binance CEO Richard Teng Says Crypto Needs Two Elements To Witness Mass Adoption https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binance-ceo-richard-teng-says-crypto-needs-two-elements-to-witness-mass-adoption/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binance-ceo-richard-teng-says-crypto-needs-two-elements-to-witness-mass-adoption/#respond Tue, 25 Mar 2025 20:03:28 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/binance-ceo-richard-teng-says-crypto-needs-two-elements-to-witness-mass-adoption/

Binance chief executive Richard Teng believes crypto is the future of money and financial services.

In an interview on The Wolf of All Streets YouTube channel, Teng says that crypto “needs two elements to come into play” to enjoy widespread adoption.

“Firstly, you need more regulatory clarity. Because for the early adopters, people are embracing it without clarity. But for mass adoption to come through, they need to understand that the regulators are looking into this space, they feel adequately protected for mass adoption to come through.

Secondly, you need institutions. Because without institutions, if it’s mainly retail play, the price action is going to be extremely volatile.

So with more institutions, with more buy-and-hold users, and investors with a different time horizon, then the price movement will become much less volatile and the market cap will become much bigger over time.”

According to the Binance CEO, increased crypto awareness will lead to more individuals and institutions embracing the industry. Teng says Standard Chartered’s recent move supports his view.

Last month, the multi-national lender announced that it had entered a joint venture with other firms to issue a stablecoin pegged to the Hong Kong dollar.

Explains Teng,

“Stablecoins, for example, you see Standard Chartered being one of the first in terms of traditional financial institutions to say ‘I embrace that.’ Because it makes perfect sense. Instead of doing a payment and sending money overseas, only getting it two days later…

…crypto is instantaneous. You can do minting of stablecoins and send it instantaneously. It solves so many problems. It’s so efficient, it’s so cost-effective that financial institutions will start to embrace different parts of crypto.”

The Logoff is a daily newsletter that helps you stay informed about the Trump administration without letting political news take over your life. Subscribe here.

Welcome to The Logoff. Today I’m focusing on the Trump administration’s effort to exert control over independent regulators, a power grab with implications for the government’s balance of power — and for your daily life.

What’s the latest? Donald Trump issued an executive order on Tuesday that would put a series of independent regulatory agencies (and their investigations and rulemaking processes) directly under White House control.

How does that change the way things work now? The dozens of independent agencies in the federal government have the power to interpret federal law and launch investigations into alleged rulebreakers. The president appoints the leaders to the agencies’ boards. But many commissioners’ terms are longer than a single administration’s, and the president can’t fire them simply because he doesn’t like their decisions.

Under Trump’s new rules, that autonomy would go away.

What are these independent agencies? There are dozens of them, including:

Are they all included? The order specifically exempts the Federal Reserve’s work to set interest rates, but that’s it!

What’s next? The executive order will almost certainly face legal challenges, and the question over the reach of executive power could get kicked all the way up to the Supreme Court. These agencies’ independence is protected by law, but the Trump team argues those laws are unconstitutional.

What’s the big picture? Trump is again attempting to expand the president’s power. Congress passed laws giving these agencies a measure of independence, and putting lawmakers in charge of their oversight. Trump is now claiming that power for himself, arguing their independence makes them unaccountable.

But how does it affect me? These agencies regulate so many facets of daily life — preventing everything from predatory business practices to nuclear reactor meltdowns.

And with that, it’s time to log off …

How are you sleeping these days? If the answer is “not well,” I have a listen for you, courtesy of Vox’s Explain It to Me podcast. This week, they interviewed a sleep psychologist to get answers to questions like: Why am I a night owl? How can I nap responsibly? And what should I do about my chronic struggle to stay asleep? I hope you enjoy it. And I’ll see you back here tomorrow.
