Google IO 2025 Project Moohan headset in person's hands

Lanh Nguyen / Android Authority

TL;DR

  • A new update to Samsung’s Camera Assistant Good Lock module adds a new “3D Capture” setting.
  • The description confirms the “Galaxy XR” branding for Samsung’s XR headset.
  • It also confirms that Samsung phones will be able to shoot 3D/spatial images and videos for viewing on the Galaxy XR headset.

Samsung teamed up with Google for its Project Moohan headset on the brand-new Android XR platform. Samsung is said to be gearing up to launch the headset very soon, either by the end of this month or the next, depending on which leak you believe. Samsung has now accidentally disclosed that the Project Moohan headset will be called “Galaxy XR,” and that users will be shoot spatial images and videos on their phones to view it on the headset, just like they can on newer iPhones and the Apple Vision Pro.

Don’t want to miss the best from Android Authority?

Sammobile reports that a new version of the Camera Assistant app (v4.0.0.3) is available on the Galaxy S25 FE but not yet on other Galaxy devices. This new version of the Good Luck module doesn’t open any exclusive functionality on the Galaxy S25 FE. However, when the app is installed on a Galaxy S25 Ultra, users can spot a new “3D capture” feature in the app’s settings.

Samsung Camera Assistant App 3D Capture

As the description states, the new 3D capture setting adds a button to the top of the camera preview, so users can shoot Galaxy XR-compatible spatial photos and videos. This not only confirms that the Project Moohan headset will be called “Galaxy XR” as widely rumored, but users will be able to shoot their own 3D/spatial content on their phones to view it on the headset. Since it refers to “headsets” in the plural, there can be other XR devices within the family branding.

Samsung Camera Assistant 3D Photo

Leaker Ice Universe shot a video using the new feature. As the leaker notes, the video is shot in 4K 30fps, and shows up with a “Shot in 3D” label in the Gallery app.

Samsung Camera Assistant 3D video capture for Galaxy XR

This feature doesn’t come as a surprise, as user-generated content forms an essential consumption bucket for XR headsets. Apple offers the same on the Apple Vision Pro, and it’s the reason why the iPhone 16 switched away from a diagonal rear camera arrangement to a vertical one — you need two side-by-side lenses to capture depth data for spatial/3D content.

It remains to be seen which Samsung phones can shoot spatial content. It’s fair to expect that the company’s latest flagships, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy S25 series will be able to shoot 3D content. Most of Samsung’s phones come with a vertical rear camera arrangement, so the rest depends on whether they have powerful enough hardware to shoot 3D content. We hope to learn more soon.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE pokemon tcg mobile

Ryan Haines / Android Authority

TL;DR

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 FE pricing for the US may have leaked online.
  • The phone is tipped to start at $649.99 for the 128GB model, while the 256GB variant is listed at $709.99
  • This would be in line with the Galaxy S24 FE’s US price.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is expected to launch soon, and we’ve already seen a steady stream of leaks. We’ve also seen some price leaks, and it looks like we’ve now got apparent US pricing too.

Don’t want to miss the best from Android Authority?

SammyGuru spotted Galaxy S25 FE listings on the website of IT solution company SHI, also revealing Icy Blue, Jet Black, Navy, and White color options. The listings reveal a recommended US price of $649.99 for the base 8GB/128GB model. Meanwhile, the 8GB/256GB model is listed at a recommended price of $709.99. Unfortunately, the 512GB model isn’t seen here. Check out the price-related screenshots below.

These apparent price tags are in line with the Galaxy S24 FE, suggesting no price hike for 2025’s model. That would be a minor achievement in light of US tariffs, although the Galaxy S25 series didn’t see a price increase, either. This also follows a European price leak for the S25 FE, which points to a similar price tag as last year’s phone.

We’d nevertheless recommend you take this latest leak with a pinch of salt, as we’re not sure about the veracity of this source. But our fingers are crossed that the phone doesn’t see a price hike.

Leaked Galaxy S25 FE specs point to an Exynos 2400 series chip, 8GB of RAM, and a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED screen. However, the phone is also tipped to receive a 4,900mAh battery and 45W wired charging, which would be welcome upgrades over the long-standing 4,000mAh+25W charging combo.

A new study has revealed the extent of sensitive information leaked through ransomware attacks and data breaches, including key financial documents and crypto keys.

Key Takeaways:

  • Unstructured files like financial documents and crypto keys are being widely exposed in breaches.
  • Cryptographic keys were found in 18% of incidents, posing serious security risks.
  • Cybercriminals are mining breached data like data scientists, targeting high-value information.

The report, published by cybersecurity firm Lab 1, analyzed over 141 million records from 1,297 breach incidents.

Unlike most breach assessments that focus on structured data like usernames and passwords, Lab 1’s analysis targeted unstructured files, the type often overlooked but potentially more damaging.

Hidden Dangers: Financial Docs, Crypto Keys, and Emails Exposed

The breaches include financial documents, cryptographic keys, email archives, and internal business records.

According to Lab 1 CEO Robin Brattel, the goal was to expose the risks hidden in everyday files that rarely draw attention.

“We focused on the huge risks associated with unstructured files that often hold high-value information, such as cryptographic keys, customer account data, or sensitive commercial contracts,” he said.

The findings are alarming. Financial documents appeared in 93% of the breach incidents studied, accounting for 41% of all analyzed files.

Nearly half included bank statements, and over a third contained International Bank Account Numbers.

In 82% of the cases, customer or corporate personally identifiable information (PII) was exposed, much of it originating from customer service interactions.

A staggering 51% of incidents included emails containing U.S. Social Security numbers.

Perhaps most concerning was the discovery of cryptographic keys in 18% of the breaches.

These keys can be used to bypass authentication systems, giving attackers a powerful advantage in future cyber intrusions. Source code and internal scripts were also widely leaked, appearing in 17% of the analyzed data sets.

The study underscores a shift in cybercriminal tactics. Hackers are increasingly operating like data scientists, mining stolen data for high-value assets to use in fraud, identity theft, or ransomware follow-ups.

“With cybercriminals now behaving like data scientists to unearth these valuable insights to fuel cyberattacks and fraud, unstructured data cannot be ignored,” Brattel warned.

16 Billion Logins Leaked: New Mega Breach Puts Crypto Users at Risk

Last month, a massive data breach exposed more than 16 billion login credentials from platforms like Apple, Google, Facebook, Telegram, and GitHub, according to cybersecurity researchers at Cybernews.

The breach, among the largest ever recorded, is not a single leak but a combination of datasets gathered through infostealer malware, credential stuffing attacks, and undisclosed breaches tracked since early 2024. Some individual sets held as many as 3.5 billion entries.

Researchers warned the leaked credentials—many recently harvested—pose a severe threat to users, especially those in crypto, due to the inclusion of sensitive login details, cookies, and tokens.

The structure of the data suggests it was harvested by modern malware, making it far more dangerous than older, recycled leaks.

One dataset tied to Telegram included 60 million records, while another, allegedly linked to Russia, had over 455 million.

Much of the data was found in unsecured Elasticsearch databases and object storage systems, briefly exposed but long enough to be copied.

Although the exact source remains unclear, cybersecurity experts suspect criminal actors compiled the records.

With such a vast trove of credentials, attackers now have tools for phishing, ransomware, and unauthorized access to crypto wallets, especially for users lacking multi-factor authentication.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 renders 1

TL;DR

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 have appeared in fresh leaks just days ahead of their launch.
  • The Galaxy Z Flip 7’s leak is more detailed and shows the inner foldable screen with no visible crease.
  • Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the hands-on video doesn’t power on and might as well be a dummy unit.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 are set to be unveiled later this week. As the launch draws closer, we’ve seen a slew of leaks that have given us sweeping looks at both the foldables. Following last week’s leak of Galaxy Z Fold 7 hands-on images, more hands-on images of both devices have been spotted circulating online.

Over the weekend, an X user @andrei_eclynoh shared a hands-on image of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. They also shared — but later removed — a hands-on video, which another user later reuploaded. Both the picture and the video demonstrate a working model, so it probably captures a review or a retail unit.

The most compelling aspect to notice in the media is the new inner display, devoid of any visible crease. The foldable display appears seamless at multiple angles, inspiring us to assume Samsung may have finally caught up to its competitors in eliminating the crease entirely. The image also emphasizes the outer display, which now appears much larger than on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and leaves smaller bezels on the cover. The display now also envelops the dual cameras, similar to the Motorola Razr 2025 family, ditching the previous folder-notch shape.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 unit shown in the video also features the same boxy design that Samsung introduced with the Flip 5. Earlier rumors pointed towards Flip 7 being slimmer than the previous generation, though the change is not expected to be as drastic as expected of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Interestingly, the video shows the Flip 7 can also run up to four cover screen widgets on the same page.

The second leak showcases the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which appears in a video by accessories maker WSKEN, which has already listed a compatible screen protector on Amazon (via 9to5Google). It’s not easy to differentiate between the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the upcoming Fold 7 based solely on the device’s slimness, so one can easily assume the video shows a Fold 6. However, the unit’s narrower fingerprint scanner aligns with the Fold 7’s leaks and can be trusted to be a tell-tale differentiator.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 leaked hands-on image.

However, unlike the Flip 7’s hands-on video, this one shows the phone switched off, which suggests it may not be a working model but rather a dummy unit.

We’re just days away from the official launch, at which point we can expect to confirm the validity of these leaks. Last week, we exclusively reported that Samsung is also working on a tri-fold device, and we expect it to be showcased at the event in a fashion similar to how the Galaxy S25 Edge was teased at the S25 series launch earlier this year.

GPT

A few new code references in the ChatGPT web app and Android point to an Operator-like tool in GPT’s chain of thoughts.

As spotted by Tibor on X, the Android beta has strings like “click,” “drag,” “type,” and even “terminal feed,” which seem to suggest that ChatGPT could soon call a remote browser or sandboxed environment (Operator?).

For those unaware, OpenAI already has Operator, which uses an AI agent to navigate a remote browser session and execute tasks for you.

These references suggest that ChatGPT’s thinking model might call a browser or APIs to execute tasks. There are also references to “Checking available APIs” and “Reading API documentation.”

GPT
Android beta include mentions of “computer tool” actions (click, performing computer actions, etc.)

It’s also worth noting that the code mentions an “intake form,” so OpenAI may gate this feature behind an invite-only beta before rolling it out more widely.

Could it be ChatGPT-5 or some other model? We don’t know, and we likely won’t anytime soon as OpenAI is busy with its standoff with Meta.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are now at risk of identity theft and fraud after a major data breach at a human resources firm.

In a new filing with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, Maryland-based Kelly Benefits says it has discovered a significant cybersecurity incident impacting 413,032 people.

The company says an internal investigation revealed that an unknown entity gained unauthorized access to its database and stole sensitive customer information, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, tax ID numbers, medical and health insurance records and financial account datasets.

“The investigation determined Kelly Benefits’ environment was subject to unauthorized access between December 12th, 2024 and December 17th, 2024 and certain files were copied and taken.

Kelly Benefits then began a time-intensive and detailed review of all files affected by this event to determine what information was present in the impacted files and to whom it related.

Once this review was complete, Kelly Benefits reviewed its internal records to match the individual to the appropriate client or carrier. This analysis was completed on March 3rd, 2025.”

Kelly Benefits offers a wide array of HR-related services, including benefits administration, payroll solutions, retirement planning, compliance support and consulting services.

The firm says it issued letters of notice to affected individuals while offering a 12-month credit monitoring and identity theft protection services.

For now, Kelly Benefits says it “has seen no evidence of misuse of any information related to this incident.”

The firm says it has reported the data breach to federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies and will continue closely monitoring its security policies, procedures and tools.

A website that tracks these forums, Dark Web Informer, reported that a dark web seller named “kiki88888” had offered a separate batch of data linked to Binance.

That set allegedly includes more than 130,000 lines of information containing emails and passwords.

Dark Web Informer suggested that the leaked Binance data may not have come from the exchange itself. Instead, they pointed to poor user habits, such as clicking unknown links or downloading suspicious files, as likely causes.

Additionally, Dark Web Informer suggested that a seller going by the name “AKM69” claimed to have a database of 100,000 Gemini user records.

These records reportedly contain full names, email addresses, phone numbers, and location information. Most of the data appears to be from users in the United States, with some entries tied to Singapore and the United Kingdom.

The listing, according to Dark Web Informer, was connected to an operation involving the sale of user data for crypto-related scams, marketing, or account recovery attempts.

So far, neither Binance nor Gemini has issued a public statement in response to these claims.

Recently, a joint effort by the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the National Anti-Scam Centre (NASC), and Binance Australia helped stop a crypto scam in which fraudsters posed as representatives of Binance. How? Read the full story.
