and onion=... You just say bitcoind How to create an outbound connection to a TOR network. To be able to reach yourself on a TOR network, you need something called a “hidden service,” which corresponds to the IP address on the TOR network. TOR is quite unusual in that it does not require such an address to make an outbound connection. It is necessary simply to receive an inbound connection.

For more information about how to create hidden services, see the Bitcoin Core Tor documentation. However, there are about two ways.

  • give bitcoind Permission to ask tor Creates a hidden service (by opening the control port).
  • Set it tor Create a hidden service for yourself and transfer it yourself bitcoindyou need to tell them what that hidden service address is (and therefore can be advertised to other peers).

(Test) Static IPv6 in the home in the public mining pool? https://earlybirdsinvest.com/test-static-ipv6-in-the-home-in-the-public-mining-pool/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/test-static-ipv6-in-the-home-in-the-public-mining-pool/#respond Sun, 03 Aug 2025 05:39:57 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/test-static-ipv6-in-the-home-in-the-public-mining-pool/

A friend is trying to set up a publicly available test mining pool.

My current ISP is Verizon Wireless Home Internet. I’m pretty annoyed with them. You can easily see them delivering dynamic IPv6 in my house. But they want to charge me an extra fee each Static IPv6 address!

I am trying to establish a service that is accessible to the outside world. Static IPv6 addresses do not work as they change the IPv6 prefix every time the router restarts. The server reassigns the new address.

Am I completely dependent on my ISP for this? Can I establish/maintain a static IPv6 address? Is it the problem of getting other hardware/software?

My wireless router is the ARC-XCI55AX (standard “white cube”). I’m in Oakland, USA.
