[PRESS RELEASE – New York, USA, July 17th, 2025]

In a live financial television interview, Streamex CEO Henry McPhie unveiled new details surrounding the company’s strategic merger with BioSig Technologies (NASDAQ: BSGM), which officially positions Streamex as one of the first publicly traded real-world asset (RWA) tokenization companies focused on the $142 trillion commodities market.

The interview aired just days after the highly anticipated Circle IPO, which McPhie noted has signaled a “very bullish market for crypto-related stocks.”

“We were lucky to get to the market even before the Circle IPO,” said McPhie. “With our merger with BSGM, we’ve brought Streamex to the Nasdaq, allowing us to deliver a truly innovative public vehicle for commodities tokenization.”

The newly merged entity aims to bring real-world commodities on-chain through financial products tailored specifically to the unique dynamics of the sector. According to McPhie, the company’s mission centers on the democratization of capital and efficiency of assets — two core principles enabled by blockchain tokenization.

“With tokenization, we can create financial instruments that don’t exist today in the commodity space,” he added. “It’s about unlocking value, liquidity, and access.”

Backing this mission are key industry veterans now serving as advisors, including:

  • Shaun Rosen, founder of what was once North America’s largest mining operation (Osoco Mining)
  • Frank Giustra, a serial entrepreneur who has built multiple companies exceeding $50 billion in combined valuation

Streamex is fully regulated in Canada and is actively pursuing U.S. broker-dealer registration to further solidify its presence in North America’s financial markets.

“As a first mover in this space, we’re paving the path for commodity tokenization to go mainstream — bringing novel, efficient assets to public investors,” said McPhie.

About Streamex

Streamex is building the future of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, with a focus on commodities and hard assets. The company’s mission is to create financial instruments that bring efficiency, liquidity, and broader access to global markets through blockchain-based innovation.

Fake Crypto Job Interview Used to Spread 'PylangGhost' Malware https://earlybirdsinvest.com/fake-crypto-job-interview-used-to-spread-pylangghost-malware/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/fake-crypto-job-interview-used-to-spread-pylangghost-malware/#respond Sat, 21 Jun 2025 21:41:05 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/fake-crypto-job-interview-used-to-spread-pylangghost-malware/

A hacking group tied to North Korea is running a new scam targeting people looking for crypto or blockchain jobs, according to Cisco Talos report on June 18.

The group, known as Famous Chollima (also referred to as Wagemole), has been using fake interviews to spread malware called “PylangGhost”.

This remote access trojan (RAT), built in Python, is based on an older malware strain called GolangGhost.

The campaign mainly targets job seekers in India with experience in cryptocurrency. Victims are contacted by fake recruiters posing as representatives of companies, such as Coinbase

$780.2M

, Uniswap

$102.73M

, or Robinhood.

Hackers guide the targets through a fake hiring process, which starts with messages and links to job testing sites that appear genuine. After collecting basic information, they invite candidates to a video call that looks like a real interview.

During the call, they ask the victim to enable camera and microphone access and to run certain computer commands. They claim this is needed to install or update video drivers, but instead, it installs the PylangGhost malware.

Once the malware is active, it gives hackers remote access to the person’s computer. It can collect system information, take screenshots, move files, and stay connected to the machine.

Cisco Talos stated that the malware is used to steal login details from over 80 browser extensions, including MetaMask, Phantom, TronLink, 1Password, NordPass, Bitski, Initia, and MultiverseX. Many of these are used to manage cryptocurrency wallets.

Meanwhile, Mobile Threat Intelligence reported that Crocodilus, an Android malware, has become more dangerous due to recent updates. What can it do? Read the full story.

The Growing Institutional Adoption of Crypto: An Interview with Nick Hammer, CEO, BlockFills https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-growing-institutional-adoption-of-crypto-an-interview-with-nick-hammer-ceo-blockfills/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-growing-institutional-adoption-of-crypto-an-interview-with-nick-hammer-ceo-blockfills/#respond Wed, 07 May 2025 14:00:14 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/the-growing-institutional-adoption-of-crypto-an-interview-with-nick-hammer-ceo-blockfills/

The institutional acceptance of crypto around the world has accelerated significantly recently, developing hand in hand with better-defined regulation. Here, BlockFills CEO Nick Hammer discusses the reasons for crypto’s increasing institutional usage and some of the latest products responding to that demand.

What trends are you seeing now in the digital asset space?

We’ve been seeing increased involvement from institutional players in this space such as hedge funds, family offices and asset managers, which underscores the growing credibility and maturity of the digital asset space. Institutional activity brings significant capital, greater liquidity and stability to this market. It also drives mainstream acceptance and necessary regulatory clarity.

To that end, governments and regulators around the world are developing more defined frameworks and focusing on investor protection. This helps build trust and ensures compliance in various jurisdictions. This has also been helpful for us as we navigate the global regulatory landscape and launch offices in South America and the Middle East. BlockFills also has a London-based affiliate, Basis Capital Markets UK Ltd, which is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The move towards regulatory certainty has been beneficial for the major players in this space.

DeFi also continues to grow, offering decentralized alternatives to traditional financial products like lending, borrowing and trading. This enables greater financial inclusion, efficiency and transparency. Many central banks are also exploring or developing their own digital currencies in response to the rise of cryptocurrencies and stablecoins. This could impact the future of money by creating a more digitized financial ecosystem.

Finally, we are also seeing a rise in the use of stablecoins. Stripe introduced a new payment option allowing customers to pay U.S. businesses in the USDC stablecoin, and this growing trend is reshaping how assets are traded and stored.

Why have we seen more institutional adoption of crypto?

There’s been a lot of movement from regulators to provide institutional traders more confidence when accessing the digital asset space. The U.S. has adopted a strategic Bitcoin Reserve policy at both the federal and some state levels, the SEC and CFTC have created a joint crypto regulation advisory committee and several crypto ETFs have been approved, with more, including Bitwise’s application for an XRP ETF, under consideration.

We have also seen the development of institutional custody solutions for crypto, which builds further confidence in the digital asset space. BlockFills has partnered with leading players that have invested heavily in custody solutions, insurance and regulatory compliance. These are only a few of the steps we take to safeguard assets against hacking and theft, since long-term sustainability is important to us.

Finally, there has been a real trend to tokenize traditional financial products like stocks, bonds and commodities. Institutional and professional investors are attracted to this sort of offering due to its fractional ownership and increased liquidity, which provide unique opportunities apart from traditional investment vehicles.

As the market matures, how are you looking at the landscape of product opportunities or deficits?

Having both a spot and derivatives* offering enables BlockFills to provide unique trading opportunities and provides traders the opportunity to explore various strategies. As an OTC desk, we have customizable products with a robust variety of underlying digital assets, including BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, USDT, LTC, BCH and more. We are not only dealing with the major coins.

Legacy products and technologies may have restraints that are holding digital asset evolution back. Crypto demands same-day settlement, 24/7 markets and non-fiat as collateral, so BlockFills is exploring how best to meet the needs of digital asset traders while leveraging traditional building blocks.

BlockFills also offers cash-settled as well as physically delivered products to meet the needs of all sorts of professional and institutional traders.Turnkey solutions from BlockFills can get firms up and running in the digital assets businesses so as not to experience FOMO.

The digital asset landscape is very unique in that it was developed by retail investors and has evolved for institutional markets. We owe credit to the first movers in the digital asset retail space and aim to capture some of their innovative spirit when developing our products.

Your firm recently launched the BlockFills CoinDesk 20 Options Market. Can you tell me more about that?

BlockFills provides institutional-grade liquidity to the CoinDesk 20 Index, which measures the performance of leading digital assets and applies a capped market capitalization weighted methodology to ensure portfolio diversification. Additionally, we offer the BlockFills CoinDesk 20 Options Market product, answering the demand for diverse and tradeable digital assets products beyond BTC and ETH ETFs. We have heard the demand from qualified institutional market participants for a foundational reference index to trade, invest, and measure performance in, and are thrilled to provide them with a solution.

Prominent digital asset manager and multi-strategy crypto hedge fund, Hyperion Decimus, initiated the first transaction of the product in January of this year.

What’s next for BlockFills? Where should people go for additional information?

We are working strategically with partners to provide an enhanced level of service for digital asset trading. We recently collaborated with CQG, a leading global provider of high-performance technology solutions for market makers, traders, brokers, commercial hedgers and exchanges, to bring industry-leading, reliable pricing and deep liquidity to their vast client base. And our market participants benefit from the ability to use CQG’s institutional-grade technology and trading tools.

We are also expanding our relationships with key industry players such as custody provider Fordefi, London-based banking group BCB, CQG, CoinDesk Indices and others to enhance the digital assets experience.

BlockFills will also be launching global offices in Dubai, Brazil and the U.K. Those seeking more information can visit BlockFills.com.

An unusual job application has helped the crypto exchange Kraken

uncover an attempt by a North Korean hacker to slip inside the company
.

Kraken explained in a May 1 blog post that the applicant showed up for an interview using a different name than the one listed on their application. They also sometimes changed their voice during the call, which suggested that someone else might help behind the scenes.

Instead of rejecting the candidate immediately, Kraken decided to move them forward in the process to learn more about how the attack was being carried out.

Kraken had already been alerted by others in the industry that hackers tied to North Korea were trying to get jobs at crypto companies. A list of suspicious email addresses had been shared with Kraken, and one matched the email the applicant used to apply.

Kraken’s security team found a network of fake identities linked to the candidate. They also spotted technical red flags, such as the use of remote Mac desktops through VPNs and identification documents that seemed edited.

When the hiring process reached its final stage, Kraken’s chief security officer, Nick Percoco, ran some identity verification tests designed to catch fake applicants. The candidate failed these tests, which confirmed that the person was not who they claimed to be.

Percoco stated that threats backed by states are not only a problem for the crypto industry and US businesses, but also pose risks worldwide.

Sam Bankman-Fried, currently serving a 25-year prison term, has a new home after completing an unauthorized interview with Tucker Carlson. Before the interview, SBF was housed at the Metropolitan Detention in Brooklyn, where the March 25th remote interview was conducted. The Brooklyn facility was famous for holding high-powered personalities, including R. Kelly, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Although Bankman-Fried’s transfer caught many by surprise, others in the know have long expected the move. Last May, there were rumors that officials would move SBF out of his cell, with SBF’s representatives believing their client may be transferred to Mendota, California.

Unauthorized Interview With Tucker Carlson

Bankman-Fried’s remote interview with Carlson was hosted last March 5th, without authorization by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). The interview lasted for over 42 minutes, with the video and outline of the interview available on Carlson’s social media page.

Bankman-Fried talked about various topics, including his experiences inside the prison, how these experiences changed and shaped his perspectives, and his thoughts on the crypto industry. Also, the interview touched on SBF’s financial standing and his thoughts on the Democratic Party.

Bankman-Fried’s remote interview surprised many since he was largely silent and unavailable since his 2023 conviction. Immediately after the interview, prison officials sent SBF to solitary confinement. Then, the prison officials decided to transfer SBF to another prison facility.

SBF Used Remote Interview To Address The Charges

Tucker Carlson posted a summary of the remote interview on his Twitter/X account on March 7th. The interview covered many topics and issues, and SBF also used the opportunity to deny the charges against him again. When asked by Carlson, SBF re-stated that he doesn’t consider himself a criminal. He then suggested that FTX “was solvent” at its collapse.

Bankman-Fried also contested the charges against Ryan Salame, the FTX Digital Markets co-CEO, saying they were “bogus.” He then implied that the filing of these cases was politically motivated.

Bankman-Fried Continues To Attract Controversies Even While Serving Time

Even after his conviction, Bankman-Fried continued to attract attention and controversy. His latest stunt with Tucker Carlson didn’t go under the radar; the BOP flagged the unauthorized interview, which led to the resignation of SBF’s crisis manager, Mark Botnick.

Even in detention, SBF caused some controversies and has been the subject of investigations. In August 2023, officials revoked his bail over allegations that he attempted to sway witnesses. To help counter SBF’s negative image, his legal team recommended that they work with conservative media personalities, including Tucker Carlson. The team hoped that working with conservative commentators could boost the chances of SBF getting a presidential pardon.

Former FTX CEO Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried has reportedly been sent to solitary confinement after taking part in an interview with right-wing political commentator Tucker Carlson, which was not approved by prison authorities.

“This particular interview was not approved,” a representative for the US Bureau of Prisons told The New York Times on March 7.

Bankman-Fried did not receive permission to take interview

According to a person briefed on the situation, after Bankman-Fried’s interview with Carlson was published, he was sent to solitary confinement at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he has been held since August 2023.

The Bureau of Prisons is said to have strict rules on who can communicate with inmates and how they can do so.

The interview, published on Carlson’s YouTube channel on March 6, has already garnered 730,425 views at the time of publication.

During the interview with Carlson, Bankman-Fried talked about prison life since his sentencing and his thoughts on crypto regulation in the US.

Bankman-Fried told Carlson he didn’t think he was “a criminal.”

Bankman-Fried continues appeal battle

While Carlson didn’t directly ask Bankman-Fried if he expected a pardon from US President Donald Trump, he appeared receptive to some Republican ideas during the interview.

However, since the interview aired, speculation has grown within the community about a possible Trump pardon.

According to a March 7 X post from crypto predictions platform Polymarket, “the odds of an SBF pardon have nearly doubled,” since the interview was published.

On Jan. 21, just a day after taking office, Trump gave a full pardon to Ross Ulbricht, who had been in prison for 12 years for founding the defunct darknet marketplace the Silk Road.

Meanwhile, in September 2024, lawyers representing Bankman-Fried filed an appeal for his seven felony counts and 25-year prison sentence.

In the 102-page brief, the lawyers claimed that the former FTX CEO was “never presumed innocent,” subject to scrutiny that allegedly affected prosecutors, the presiding judge, and treatment by the media.

Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the disgraced founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has conducted a second interview from prison, once again drawing controversy and causing repercussions for his crisis management team.

The interview, hosted by Tucker Carlson and posted on social media on Bankman-Fried’s 33rd birthday, took even his own public relations representative, Mark Botnick, by surprise. As a result, Botnick has resigned from his position, stating he had no prior knowledge of the interview and was not involved in its planning.

In a statement to Business Insider, Botnick said,

“As of today, I no longer represent SBF.”

It is important to note that Botnick is a seasoned public relations strategist who previously worked with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He has managed Bankman-Fried’s image since the collapse of FTX in November 2022 and played a crucial role in navigating the embattled entrepreneur through various legal challenges, including his bail violations and pre-trial imprisonment.

However, SBF’s increasing unpredictability appears to have strained their working relationship. Recently, he posted messages on X advising on former President Donald Trump’s plans to remove federal employees – actions Botnick claims were neither approved nor authorized by him.

Jailhouse Confessions: SBF Says He’s Not a Criminal

During the interview, Bankman-Fried reflected on his prison experience and commented on fellow inmate Sean “Diddy” Combs at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, saying,

“He’s been kind to people in the unit. He’s been kind to me. It’s also, it’s a position no one wants to be in, you know – obviously he doesn’t, I don’t. As you said, it’s, it’s kind of a soul crushing place for the world in general.”

Despite his conviction and ongoing appeals, Bankman-Fried maintained his innocence, telling Carlson, “I don’t think I was a criminal.” He also estimated that, at the very least, he would be in his late 40s when released, despite being sentenced until age 57.

His prior interviews with major outlets such as The Financial Times, Bloomberg News, and Vox have already been used against him in court and have served as evidence of how he allegedly misled investors.

SBF’s Political Shape-Shifting

SBF’s political allegiances appear to be as fluid as his business ethics, as seen in his interview with a right-wing political commentator. After previously positioning himself as a major donor to the Democratic Party, he now seems to be pivoting toward President Trump and the Republican Party.

He criticized Joe Biden as well as former SEC Chair Gary Gensler, whose aggressive stance on cryptocurrency regulation did little to help the FTX founder’s cause. Now serving a 25-year prison sentence, Bankman-Fried appears to be eyeing a different path to redemption – through the possibility of a Trump pardon.

Speculation about a potential pardon first gained traction in December which was primarily fueled by discussions of Bankman-Fried’s deep Democratic ties. Even Elon Musk weighed in, saying he would be “shocked” if a pardon weren’t on the table. However, as his legal avenues have dwindled, reports have surfaced that his parents have been lobbying for clemency from Trump, suggesting that SBF’s political calculus has shifted dramatically.

FTX Payout, Trump-Musk Interview, FOMC Minutes May Roil Crypto Markets This Week https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ftx-payout-trump-musk-interview-fomc-minutes-may-roil-crypto-markets-this-week/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ftx-payout-trump-musk-interview-fomc-minutes-may-roil-crypto-markets-this-week/#respond Mon, 17 Feb 2025 13:31:19 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ftx-payout-trump-musk-interview-fomc-minutes-may-roil-crypto-markets-this-week/

As bitcoin (BTC) continues to frustrate traders with lackluster price action below $100,000, here are key events this week that could reignite market activity.

FTX payout

FTX, formerly the world’s third-largest digital assets exchange, is set to begin its first round of creditor payouts after going bust in late 2022. First up are Convenience class creditors, those claiming no more than $50,000, who will receive full repayment and a 9% annual post-petition interest.

While optimism is high that the recipients will rotate this money into the market, lifting valuations across the board, not everyone agrees.

“FTX will distribute approximately $1.2 billion to Convenience Class creditors,” Markus Thielen, founder of 10x Research, said in a note to clients Monday. That amount is “too small to move the needle.”

Thielen said only $7 billion from the remaining $10.5 billion allocated to bigger creditors could be available for potential crypto investment and further, only 50% of the $7 billion could return to the market. Thielen explained that that could result in a net inflow of over $3 billion, which is just one month of net inflows into the bitcoin market.

Mena Theodorou, co-founder at crypto exchange Coinstash, expects small creditors to put some money into Solana.

“FTX’s historic investments in SOL and the Solana ecosystem make it likely that some of these funds will flow back into the network especially since SOL has been a standout performer, rising over 500% in the past year, with strong on-chain activity and developer growth continuing to fuel demand,” Thoedorou said in an email, adding SOL could potentially outperform the broader market.

Trump-Musk call

U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire investor Elon Musk will sit down with Fox News host Sean Hannity, the network announced Friday. The discussion will likely be focused on issues including politics, tariffs, immigration and potentially digital assets, all of which could breed market volatility.

“Trump is set to speak in an exclusive interview with Elon Musk on Fox News on February 19 – just one day before the FOMC meeting on February 20,” Coinstash’s Theodorou said. “Given Trump’s increasing alignment with crypto and Musk’s close ties with the space, this interview could drive market volatility, particularly if they touch on policy, regulation, or institutional adoption.”

Recently, the Trump administration said it would assess the feasibility of a strategic BTC reserve, disappointing the bulls anticipating swift action on the pre-poll promise.

FOMC minutes

Wednesday will bring the minutes of the Federal Reserve’s January meeting when the central bank held interest rates steady. The bank said it was not in a hurry to cut rates and would want to see more progress on inflation.

The minutes are likely to repeat that message, especially as CPI and PPI for the month came in hotter than expected, denting the case for a rate-reduction boost to the U.S. economy. Plus, Trump’s tariffs continue to raise the specter of inflation.

Traders will scan minutes to see if policymakers thought the policy was restrictive, which would mean the next move might still be a rate cut. However, if the minutes suggest otherwise, we could see some volatility in bonds that could potentially weigh on risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

Consensus Hong Kong

Consensus Hong Kong, CoinDesk’s three-day cryptocurrency- and blockchain-focused event, will kick off Tuesday, featuring a deep dive into the blockchain and Web 3 space.

With more than 270 speakers and thousands of attendees from over 90 countries, the three-day affair will likely offer a unique perspective on blockchain technology and digital asset investing in Asia, potentially moving markets.

AS: Ein besonderes Anliegen vieler deutscher Anleger ist steuerlicher Natur.
