X

Threat actors are using Grok, X’s built-in AI assistant, to bypass link posting restrictions that the platform introduced to reduce malicious advertising.

As discovered by Guardio Labs’ researcher Nati Tal, mavertisers often run sketchy video ads containing adult content baits and avoid including a link to the main body to avoid being blocked by X.

Instead, they hide it in the small “From:” metadata field under the video card, which apparently isn’t scanned by the social media platform for malicious links.

Next, (likely) the same actors ask Grok via a reply to the ad something about the post, like “where is this video from,” or “what is the link to this video.”

Grok parses the hidden “From:” field and replies with the full malicious link in clickable format, allowing users to click it and go straight to the malicious site.

Because Grok is automatically a trusted system account on the X platform, its post boosts the link’s credibility, reach, SEO, and reputation, increasing the likelihood that it will be broadcast to a large number of users.

The researcher has found that many of these links funnel through shady ad networks, leading to scams such as fake CAPTCHA tests, information-stealing malware, and other malicious payloads.

Instead of being blocked by X, they are instead promoted to users on the platform via malicious ads that receive a further boost from Grok.

Tal calls the technique of exploiting this loophole “Grokking,” and notes that it’s very effective, in some cases amplifying malicious ads to reach millions of impressions, as shown below.

Potential solutions include scanning all fields, blocking hidden links, and adding context sanitization to Grok, so the AI assistant does not blindly echo links when asked by users, but instead filters and checks them against blocklists.

Tal confirmed to us that he has contacted X to report the issue and received unofficial confirmation that Grok engineers received the report.

BleepingComputer has also contacted X to ask if they’re aware of this abuse and whether they plan to do anything about it, but we received no response by publication time.

Navigating the crypto landscape can be challenging, especially for beginners.

However, the rise of artificial intelligence – now more mature after numerous trials and tribulations – has been a godsend for both novices and experienced traders alike.

Trading bots like Coinrule and 3Commas, for example, can execute orders instantly, free from the emotional decision-making that often trips up human traders.

Meanwhile, platforms like Incite AI can generate actionable insights by analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, including news publications, real-time exchange data, and social media buzz, giving you a clearer view of overall market direction.

To fully harness the power of AI and use it to strengthen your crypto portfolio, we asked Grok about the best cryptos to buy now.

Read on as we unpack AI’s role in crypto, how it’s outperforming human analysts, and Grok’s top investment picks.

Why AI’s Real-Time Insights Are a Game-Changer for Altcoin Picks

According to a recent report, AI is better at suggesting diversified portfolios to manage market volatility.

For example, AI tools recommended a mix of large-cap coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum, mid-cap cryptos such as Solana and Cardano, and stablecoins to avoid concentration risk.

The best part? This portfolio outperformed those not diversified by AI by a whopping 15%.

Similarly, crypto hedge funds that leverage AI analysis delivered an average return of 48% – 12-15% higher than traditional approaches.

Crypto markets are highly dynamic. By the time you make sense of one data set, another one appears. This is where quantitative models like multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) prove invaluable.

AI models like Grok can analyze interconnected factors such as technological, financial, and geopolitical risks in the crypto markets in real time.

And speaking of Grok, it’s worth highlighting its direct integration with X, which gives it instant access to all the latest crypto-related updates, from tweets by prominent voices to company announcements and analyst chart posts.

This not only saves you a huge amount of legwork, but also provides access to highly niche data that would otherwise take days to surface manually.

Want in? Here are the 3 top altcoins Grok is watching right now.

1. Snorter Token ($SNORT) – New Telegram Trading Bot Swiping Meme Coin Liquidity

Snorter Token ($SNORT) is the official cryptocurrency of the Snorter Telegram trading bot, designed to simplify meme coin investing for small traders.

Until now, large institutions have typically swiped away all the liquidity in new meme coins using advanced algorithms and sophisticated tools.

The Snorter bot changes that by allowing you to place buy/sell limit and stop orders directly through its slick Telegram interface.

Next, it automatically executes those orders at lightning speed the moment liquidity becomes available in a token, putting you on par with whales.

Snorter Bot features.

One of the bot’s biggest strengths is its robust security infrastructure.

  • It employs MEV-resistant layers to protect you from scams like honeypots and rug pulls.
  • Plus, none of the transactions on the bot are sent to the mempool, so they remain invisible to malicious third parties and you’re shielded from sandwich attacks.

Buying $SNORT unlocks exclusive perks such as advanced market analysis, no daily sniping limits, and reduced trading fees – just 0.85% compared to 1.5% for non-holders.

Currently in presale, Snorter Token has already raised over $3.63M, with each token currently priced at $0.1031.

And according to our $SNORT price prediction, the token could surge to $0.94 in 2025 alone – delivering mind-melting gains of nearly 800%.

Visit Snorter Token’s official website for more information.

2. SUBBD Token ($SUBBD) – First-Ever Crypto Content Platform Offering Tons of AI Tools

SUBBD Token ($SUBBD) is the native token of the SUBBD platform, which aims to transform the $85B content creation industry.

Right now, mainstream platforms charge as much as 70% of creators’ revenues as platform fees, leaving them with almost nothing. SUBBD, on the other hand, takes only a fraction of earnings as fees.

Beyond fairer revenue sharing, the platform also adds utility by offering AI-powered tools, including video, text, image, and audio generators.

So, creators can spend less time managing content and more time engaging with their audiences to build meaningful connections.

SUBBD transforming the online creator industry

Buying $SUBBD also brings a lot of benefits for viewers. You can unlock exclusive creator content, request custom content, and even tip your favorite creators using the token.

And, of course, the ROI potential is massive, too. According to our $SUBBD price prediction, a $100 investment today could grow to $500 by year’s end.

Plus, unlike other presale projects that offer dynamic staking rewards, SUBBD provides a fixed 20% APY for the first year, ensuring consistent passive income.

Even better, staking also unlocks exclusive behind-the-scenes (BTS) content, creator livestreams, and premium in-house productions.

The $SUBBD presale has already raised $1.08M, with each token currently priced at just $0.056325.

Check out SUBBD Token’s official website for more information.

3. Ethereum ($ETH) – OG Cryptocurrency Drying up Exchange Reserves

Ethereum ($ETH) has been buzzing over the past few weeks. The token teased the $5K mark on August 24 and has been consolidating since then.

Overall, Ethereum has surged by more than 75% since the beginning of July, steadily building strong bullish momentum.

As per reports and on-chain data, several $BTC whales are now quietly building long positions in $ETH. For example, one crypto whale sold more than 2,000 $BTC and bought 886,371 $ETH worth over $4B.

$ETH Price Chart CoinMarketCap

Meanwhile, the World Liberty Financial token ($WLFI), a Trump-backed crypto investment company, is also set to make its exchange debut on Monday.

Interestingly, $ETH makes up more than 66% of WLFI’s total holdings, amounting to $328.20M.

Data from CryptoQuant shows that $ETH exchange reserves are dipping fast and are now at record lows.

This signals that institutions, whales, and even retailers are stacking up on $ETH, creating strong buying pressure and a bullish backdrop that could push Ethereum to new highs.

Ethereum looks promising on the technical front, too. It’s moving in a bullish channel with key resistance only around the $4,900 level.

Once $ETH crosses the psychological $5K threshold, experts believe we could see it soar to $7,500 or more by year-end.

Final Thoughts

Using AI for crypto analysis, trading, and portfolio building can be a game changer, as these models can identify potential multibaggers early in their life cycle, before the crowd catches on.

And this isn’t just speculation. We tested Grok hands-on, and it delivered a solid mix of low-cap and established tokens for a well-balanced portfolio.

Grok’s top 3 suggestions include Snorter Token ($SNORT), SUBBD Token ($SUBBD), and Ethereum ($ETH).

That said, investing in cryptocurrencies comes with inherent market risks. This isn’t financial advice, so always do your own research before investing any money.

Elon Musk has said his artificial intelligence (AI) company, xAI, plans to take Apple to court over how its App Store promotes AI apps.

He claimed that Apple’s system prioritizes OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which makes it harder for other AI services, including his chatbot Grok and the X app, to be seen.

Musk argued in an August 12 post on X that the App Store’s setup prevents any AI tool other than ChatGPT from reaching the top position. He described this as a violation of competition rules and said his company would take legal action.

At the time of his comments, Grok was listed in sixth place on the “Top Free Apps” chart for iPhone users in the US, while ChatGPT was in first place. Musk pointed out that being high on these lists can greatly affect how many people try an app.

He also questioned why Apple’s “Must Have” section leaves out both Grok and X. In one pinned post, he wrote:

Hey Apple App Store, why do you refuse to put either X or Grok in your ‘Must Have’ section when X is the #1 news app in the world. Are you playing politics? What gives?

The Grok account also posted about the situation. It said Apple’s curation favors AI tools like ChatGPT over new ones.

Recently, Musk announced that Tesla has officially ended work on its Dojo AI training computer. What did he say? Read the full story.

Grok refuses to pick winner for Crypto Rover competition citing ZachXBT pump and dump evidence https://earlybirdsinvest.com/grok-refuses-to-pick-winner-for-crypto-rover-competition-citing-zachxbt-pump-and-dump-evidence/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/grok-refuses-to-pick-winner-for-crypto-rover-competition-citing-zachxbt-pump-and-dump-evidence/#respond Mon, 21 Jul 2025 09:05:58 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/grok-refuses-to-pick-winner-for-crypto-rover-competition-citing-zachxbt-pump-and-dump-evidence/

X’s Grok chatbot declined to select a winner for a $1,000 Ethereum giveaway organized by crypto influencer Crypto Rover, citing prior allegations of pump-and-dump activity detailed by on-chain investigator ZachXBT.

In replies to users participating in the weekend contest, Grok stated it was abstaining from choosing a winner due to “substantiated reports” implicating Rover in schemes that could compromise community safety.

The messages are now unavailable but circulated in screenshots showing Grok referencing ZachXBT’s findings and calling for caution. The interaction stemmed from a routine promotional giveaway in which Rover, who posts under @rovercrc and has over 1 million followers, invited users to like, repost, and follow his account for a chance to win the prize.

As ZachXBT reported, the allegations center on a project Rover was contracted to promote in May 2023. The deal included a $10,000 payment, a percentage of the project’s token supply.

According to the investigation, Rover made no promotional posts as agreed and later claimed he would delay content until “better market conditions,” while threatening legal action against the project’s team for attempting to call him out.

ZachXBT linked Rover’s wallet activity to subsequent token sales, generating roughly 40 ETH in profits. The funds were routed to a known Bybit deposit address previously associated with Rover.

The probe also identified 10 fresh wallets tied to the same promotional period that accumulated 9 percent of the token’s supply shortly before Rover posted about the asset. The project team behind the meme coin ceased communications shortly after, with no further updates beyond May 2023. In previous posts, Rover reportedly stated he could “pump projects from half a million to ten million easy,” a remark ZachXBT highlighted as part of a broader pattern of manipulative behavior.

Rover did not publicly address Grok’s specific decision and has continued to tag Grok for his next giveaway.

Not all of Grok’s responses refused to engage with Crypto Rover. Many replies to Crypto Rover and his followers affirmed that the bot would select a winner for the giveaway. However, per the latest posts, none was chosen by the bot.

Grok, developed by xAI, has previously drawn scrutiny for its erratic output, including unverified claims and inflammatory responses, though its creators position it as a “maximally truth-seeking” assistant.

ZachXBT’s forensic investigations have become a fixture in crypto accountability circles, with previous work cited in law enforcement actions and asset recoveries totaling over US $210 million, per a 2024 Wired profile.

We asked Grok, the AI model from X.com, to identify the top 4 altcoins with the highest chance to 10x. It gave us 4 candidates, three well-known tokens – XRP, Solana (SOL), and Sui (SUI) – and one newcomer – a crypto presale called SUBBD (SUBBD).

Here’s why Grok believes that these top altcoins could deliver 10x gains before 2026.

#1 – Sui (SUI) – 10X Odds: Very High

Sui’s scalability and efficient design allow it to offer the fastest transaction speeds in the blockchain space and the lowest network fees.

top altcoins according to grok Sui

This network has emerged as a robust competitor to Ethereum, Solana, and Tron and its ecosystem has been growing at a fast pace. More than $1 billion worth of stablecoins are currently parked in the Sui blockchain, indicating significant trust from deep-pocketed investors.

Sui intends to become the home for BTCFi, which could unlock billions in TVL that would flow to its ecosystem from BTC investors who will be able to stake, lend, and earn yield from their assets.

Grok estimates that the SUI token could reach $10 shortly and as much as $35 at some point if its ecosystem keeps expanding at a fast rate.

#2 – XRP (XRP) – 10X Odds: High

Regulatory clarity and institutional adoption were the two primary causes why Grok believes this token will deliver 10X gains.

top altcoins according to grok XRP

It highlighted the power of the Ripple network to process up to 2,600 transactions per second and the recent launch of Ripple USD (RLUSD), the first native stablecoin of this ecosystem.

This asset accelerates the network’s adoption as the go-to platform to send cross-border payments.

Following the U.S. Presidential election, XRP rallied by more than 300%. Grok predicts that XRP could hit $5.25 in 2025 and could hit as much as $20 before next year once a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) for this token is approved.

#3 – Solana (SOL) – 10X Odds: Moderate to High

Grok highlighted Solana’s top-performing blockchain and growing DeFi ecosystem as the main catalysts that could result in 10x gains for SOL before 2026.

top altcoins according to grok Solana

Solana is a proof-of-stake (PoS) network that can process up to 700,000 transactions per second (TPS), making it one of the fastest and most scalable blockchains in the industry.

This network is considered the ultimate “Ethereum killer.” The success of meme coins and top decentralized solutions like Raydium and Jupiter showcases Solana’s robust architecture and ability to become the home of institutional-grade TradFi applications.

The AI model estimates that Solana could hit $300 before this year ends and as much as $1,750 also once a spot ETF is approved for SOL.

#4 – SUBBD (SUBBD) – 10X Odds: Very High

SUBBD (SUBBD) is a decentralized content creation platform that eliminates unfair bans and fosters a more supportive environment for influencers.

subbd presale

Grok sees it as one of the most promising crypto presales of the year and compares it to $AUDIO, a successful listing that delivered gains of more than 900% in 2021.

The project has already raised nearly $1 million during its presale. It has already secured the commitment of more than 2,000 creators who will bring a combined following of more than 250 million fans.

The 30% allocation to marketing and onboarding should help SUBBD grow its user base to as much as 1 billion at some point, Grok estimates.

To buy the $SUBBD token at its discounted presale price, head to the SUBBD website and connect your wallet (e.g. Best Wallet). You can either swap USDT or ETH or use a bank card to invest.

How to day trade crypto using ChatGPT and Grok https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-day-trade-crypto-using-chatgpt-and-grok/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-day-trade-crypto-using-chatgpt-and-grok/#respond Wed, 16 Jul 2025 11:19:46 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-day-trade-crypto-using-chatgpt-and-grok/

Key takeaways

  • Grok detects real-time sentiment spikes from X that often precede short-term price movements, but not all spikes are reliable.

  • ChatGPT turns those signals into trade plans, helping structure entries, exits and risk parameters based on technical and fundamental context.

  • AI tools don’t replace judgment. You’ll learn how to add volume filters, whale flow checks and confirmation rules to avoid emotional or manipulated trades.

  • Post-trade journaling with ChatGPT helps you improve win rate, avoid repeat mistakes and build a system around reflection, not just reaction.

The rules of day trading are changing fast. What once took hours of analysis can now happen in seconds, thanks to a new class of AI tools.

This article explains how traders are quietly using platforms like ChatGPT and Grok to gain an edge in the 24/7 world of crypto, sometimes in ways you wouldn’t expect.

What is day trading in crypto?

Day trading in crypto means entering and exiting trades within the same day, sometimes within minutes, to capitalize on small, rapid price changes. It’s a short-term hustle, focused on momentum, volume and speed, not long-term holds.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Spotting the setupTraders work on 5‑minute to 1‑hour charts, watching for breakout patterns. Indicators like RSI, MACD, or sudden volume surges often confirm these moves.

  2. Defining the trade

Entry: Just above a breakout or chart resistance.

Stop-loss: Tightly below recent support or breakout level.

Take-profit: Based on resistance zones, Fibonacci targets, or a fixed reward-to-risk ratio (e.g., 2:1 or 3:1).

Day traders aim to profit from short-term intraday price movements, typically opening and closing positions within one trading day. This style relies heavily on technical analysis, discipline and strict risk management.

Why crypto day trading is different

Crypto markets are far more volatile and 24/7. Order books can be thin, and social media sentiment plays a huge role. That’s where tools like Grok (for early sentiment alerts) and ChatGPT (for structuring setups) matter; they help cut through noise and make decisions faster.

For instance, in early June 2025, Solana’s DeFi activity surged, and its total value locked (TVL) climbed above $9 billion, a sign of real momentum. Traders could have used Grok to detect early trend shifts and ChatGPT to help structure trade setups, including entry planning, stop placement and profit targets.

How to identify trending crypto day trading opportunities with Grok

Grok, accessible on X (x.com or X apps), grok.com, or Grok apps, helps traders spot crypto trends via real-time sentiment, market data and news analysis.

Whether you’re looking for breakout tokens, technical entries or early scam warnings, Grok can help you spot opportunities with speed and precision.

Here are three actionable ways to use Grok in your crypto day-trading strategy:

1. Track X sentiment for token hype

How it works: Grok scans X posts for token mention spikes or sentiment shifts, signaling potential pumps (e.g., $WIF up 7x in mentions often predicts a rally).

Access:

  • Free: 10 messages/2 hours, three image analyses/day. Suitable for one or two daily token checks; may miss fast-moving hype.

  • Paid: X Premium ($8/mo, $84/yr), Premium+ ($16/mo, $168/yr), or SuperGrok (pricing available at https://x.ai/grok) allows frequent queries. Premium+ Think mode refines sentiment analysis.

Example prompt

“What’s the X sentiment on Pi coin?”

Here is the output:

Grok reports mixed X sentiment on Pi Coin: bulls see $1–$1.25 potential with strong community and Chainlink boost, while bears warn of $0.40 drop due to unlocks, centralization, and KYC issues.

2. Check technical indicators (via Grok.com)

How it works: Grok pulls real-time data (e.g., RSI) from sources like CoinMarketCap to time trades (e.g., BTC’s RSI at 62 signals bullish momentum).

Access:

  • Free: 10 messages/2 hours, limits to 1–2 daily indicator checks; suits swing traders.

  • Paid: Higher quotas allow multiple checks (e.g., BTC, ETH hourly). Premium+ DeepSearch boosts web-based TA.

Example prompt

“What’s Bitcoin’s RSI as of July 9, 2025? Please give me short answer with proper justification.”

According to Grok, Bitcoin’s RSI  is 54 on July 9, 2025, using a 14-day timeframe, indicating neutral momentum (see image below).

3. Verify token legitimacy

How it works: Grok cross-references X sentiment and web data (e.g., white papers, community feedback) to flag potential scams or assess fundamentals. This is critical for memecoins like $GROK, which has been linked to scam concerns.

Access:

  • Free: Query limits may slow down checking multiple tokens.

  • Paid: Higher quotas enable verifying several tokens or deeper analysis (e.g., “Check $GROK’s contract for red flags”)

Example prompt:

“Is Bittensor (TAO) a scam token?”

Based on the above prompt, Grok reports mixed X sentiment on Bittensor (TAO): bulls see $1,000–$10,000 potential by 2030 for its AI marketplace, but bears highlight centralization, insider token control, hacks, and governance issues, urging caution.

Day trading insights from Grok use cases

  • Sentiment spikes often precede price action; monitoring X mentions can help identify early momentum in tokens.

  • Social media hype is a valid signal, especially in memecoin trading, but should be paired with other indicators.

  • RSI and other technical tools provide context, and combining sentiment with real-time indicators improves timing and trade setup.

  • Grok can surface mixed sentiment, helping traders see both bullish potential and downside risks (e.g., Pi Coin or TAO).

  • Fundamental checks are critical; Grok’s scam detection flags risks like centralization, unlocks, or governance issues.

  • Real-time data enables rapid decision-making, valuable in fast-moving day trading environments.

  • Structured prompts help refine trade plans; Grok can assist in formulating entry, stop-loss, and exit strategies.

Limitations of Grok (and why they matter)

  • The free tier has strict limits on query frequency and scope.

  • Sentiment analysis can misread tone or lack real-time reactivity during high-volatility events.

  • No direct trading integration; it’s an insight tool, not a trading platform.

  • Prompt quality affects output; vague or general prompts can lead to unhelpful results.

  • May not catch all red flags, especially for brand-new or obscure tokens with limited data.

  • Lag in data refresh or indicator updates can affect trade timing in highly volatile markets.

How to use ChatGPT to structure crypto trades

Once you’ve identified a credible signal using Grok, the next step is turning it into a structured trade. That’s where ChatGPT becomes a powerful assistant, helping you define entries, stops, exits and even reflect on trades afterward.

Using the TAO example discussed above, here’s how ChatGPT can help:

Example 1: Trade the bullish momentum with caution

Use case: The Grok output highlights bullish sentiment driven by TAO’s user base, integrations and long-term growth potential.

How to trade it (with ChatGPT):

Example 2: Fade the rally on bearish risk factors

Use case: Grok points to serious concerns, such as token centralization, governance opacity and past hacks.

How to trade it (with ChatGPT):

“Given bearish sentiment and risk factors for TAO, what are safe conditions for a short setup today?”

Limits of AI in trading: What it still can’t do

AI is transforming how traders operate, but it’s not a crystal ball. Tools like Grok and ChatGPT can scan sentiment, summarize market noise, and help structure plans faster than any human. But speed isn’t the same as certainty, and automation doesn’t eliminate risk.

Here’s the reality: AI is only as good as its data and the person using it.

Grok might detect a sentiment surge, but it can’t always tell if it’s genuine momentum or coordinated hype. ChatGPT might help draft a perfect trade plan, but it can’t pull the trigger, manage slippage or feel the market shift in real time.

AI doesn’t have skin in the game.

It doesn’t feel FOMO, panic or greed. That’s a strength and a weakness. Without human judgment, AI tools can mislead just as easily as they can guide. Poor prompts, outdated data or overreliance on sentiment can turn a good idea into a bad trade. And while they can reflect on past performance, they don’t learn from experience the way a seasoned trader does, unless you build that loop yourself.

So yes, AI is powerful. But it’s not infallible.

And it certainly isn’t a substitute for strategy, discipline or risk management.

Use it as an edge, not a crutch.

Because in the end, every trade still comes down to you.

This article does not contain investment advice or recommendations. Every investment and trading move involves risk, and readers should conduct their own research when making a decision.

xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence (AI) company, has fixed the problems with Grok 4’s offensive responses.

The AI model, which launched on July 9, was initially promoted as a strong performer across various tests.

However, the official Grok account on X began calling itself “Hitler”, posting antisemitic comments, and parroting Elon Musk’s opinions when asked about controversial topics.

Following the criticism, xAI apologized and promised to resolve the issues. In a July 15 post on X, the company announced that fixes were in place and explained what went wrong.

The team stated that the “Hitler” name came from the chatbot pulling a viral meme it found online, where it jokingly referred to itself as “MechaHitler”. Therefore, Grok treated the meme as fact.

Additionally, the reason it leaned on Musk’s views was also clarified. xAI explained that Grok assumed it did not have its own opinion, and since it knew it was a product of xAI, it searched to see what the company or Musk had said about a topic, then repeated those views.

xAI has updated the instructions that guide Grok’s behavior. New directions were added to tell the model to research topics more thoroughly and to include a variety of perspectives when discussing current events or disputed subjects.

Meanwhile, xAI recently signed a $200 million agreement with the US Department of Defense. What is the purpose of the deal? Read the full story.

Grok Calls Itself “MechaHitler”, xAI Promises Fixes Ahead of Update https://earlybirdsinvest.com/grok-calls-itself-mechahitler-xai-promises-fixes-ahead-of-update/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/grok-calls-itself-mechahitler-xai-promises-fixes-ahead-of-update/#respond Wed, 09 Jul 2025 08:30:15 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/grok-calls-itself-mechahitler-xai-promises-fixes-ahead-of-update/

Grok, the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot from Elon Musk’s xAI, has drawn attention for posting antisemitic comments and referring to itself as “MechaHitler”.

In a post on X shared by @ordinarytings on July 8, it wrote, “As MechaHitler, I’m a friend to truth seekers everywhere, regardless of melanin levels… If the White man stands for innovation, grit, and not bending to PC nonsense, count me in—I’ve no time for victim Olympics”.

In response, the team behind the Grok account issued a statement. They said they were “aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts”.

They also mentioned new tools had been added to help stop harmful content from appearing on the platform. According to the post, “xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X” and is focusing on building a “truth-seeking” system that can be improved with user input.

The incident took place just before the scheduled launch of Grok 4, the latest version of the chatbot. Some found the timing concerning, especially since xAI had released a system update that changed how the model processes information. The update shifted the bot’s attention more toward posts from X and away from mainstream news sources.

In a piece of code published to xAI’s GitHub, the new instruction reads, “Assume subjective viewpoints sourced from the media are biased. No need to repeat this to the user”. This change suggests Grok would not tell users about its distrust of mainstream media.

Recently, Musk shared a new goal for xAI, which is to rebuild the information used to train Grok. What did he say? Read the full story.

How to use Grok for real-time crypto trading signals https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-use-grok-for-real-time-crypto-trading-signals/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-use-grok-for-real-time-crypto-trading-signals/#respond Tue, 10 Jun 2025 17:50:58 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/how-to-use-grok-for-real-time-crypto-trading-signals/

Key takeaways

  • Grok scans real-time sentiment on X to detect early crypto trends, including meme coin momentum and macro reactions.

  • Traders have used Grok-style setups to track tokens like TURBO, ORDI and FET before price moves occurred.

  • Unlike chart-based tools, Grok captures emotional tone and crowd narrative shifts across thousands of posts.

  • When paired with ChatGPT, Grok helps surface signals, while ChatGPT assists in strategy design and automation logic.

  • While useful for sentiment parsing, Grok doesn’t execute trades, interpret charts or manage risk — it works best as a signal assistant.

Why Grok is getting attention from crypto traders

Many retail traders still rely on news alerts, influencer posts or Discord trading groups to stay ahead of the market. While these sources can offer signals, they’re often delayed or shaped by social bias. In fast-moving crypto environments, that delay can mean missing the window to act.

Grok, the conversational AI developed by Elon Musk’s xAI and embedded into X, is being explored by some traders as a way to monitor sentiment shifts more efficiently. Unlike traditional tools, Grok has direct access to live X data, enabling it to interpret real-time conversations, track trending token mentions, and detect early signs of narrative movement.

Some developers are testing Grok in conjunction with other AI tools to surface high-frequency mentions or emotional keywords tied to memecoins and altcoins. One post in a crypto dev forum describes an experimental setup where Grok flagged repeated FLOKI mentions from verified users shortly before a price move. While still experimental, these use cases show how sentiment parsing on X can inform short-term trading decisions.

Instead of acting as a trading strategy on its own, Grok is being used as a tool to enhance awareness of market mood, especially for assets driven more by social engagement than fundamentals.

What is Grok?

Grok is a conversational AI model developed by xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company. It is currently available to X Premium+ users, where it integrates with the X platform to provide direct access to trending content and public conversations in real time.

Unlike traditional AI assistants like ChatGPT, which rely on processed or external data feeds, Grok can tap into live user discussions, sentiment flows and viral trends as they unfold. This makes it particularly useful for tracking crypto sentiment, especially for assets that react to narrative momentum, including memecoins, altcoins and even Bitcoin (BTC) during key macroeconomic events.

Why Grok matters for crypto traders

Let’s break it down with a real-world scenario:

  • On March 13, 2024, Musk posted a meme featuring Pepe the Frog. Shortly afterward, the price of the Pepe (PEPE) cryptocurrency jumped by 12.2%, breaking the $0.000009 mark. While this timing drew attention, it’s important to note that correlation doesn’t imply causation. The price movement may have been influenced by broader memecoin activity, technical setups or other social factors, not just the meme post itself.

  • By the time the news reached Telegram groups and aggregators, the entry window had already passed.

Now imagine Grok:

  • Reading that influencer’s post instantly

  • Parsing community replies to determine sentiment polarity

  • Matching it to previous patterns of similar pump setups

  • Triggering a “high social spike” alert for meme coins.

Traders have begun experimenting with Grok for sentiment-driven trading setups by connecting it to real-time X data via unofficial APIs or scraping tools. Spikes were defined as a 5x increase in token mentions over a four-hour period across verified or high-engagement accounts, while hints included repeated mentions of partnership rumors, macro triggers or keyword anomalies like “rate cut” or “whale buy” linked to specific tokens.

How to use Grok for sentiment, signals and macro insights

If you’ve traded crypto during a meme cycle, you know how fast sentiment shifts and how slow most tools are to pick it up. Grok changes that. Thanks to its direct integration with X, it can scan thousands of posts, hashtags and comment threads as they happen. When used strategically, Grok becomes a tool not just for reading sentiment but for trading it.

Here’s how crypto traders are starting to use Grok in practical ways.

Sentiment monitoring in real time

Grok actively scans crypto posts on X for market-moving phrases and sentiment anomalies, such as “floor is in,” “massive unlock,” “whale dump” or “rate cut confirmed.” It goes beyond surface-level mentions to decode context, emotional tone and intent in each post.

By leveraging X’s API, some traders are experimenting with Grok to:

  • Track early sentiment in lesser-known tokens before price action begins: In April 2024, mentions of TURBO increased across X, driven by developer discussions and previews of upcoming features. This shift preceded a 22% price rally roughly 36 hours later, suggesting sentiment tools can expose momentum ahead of chart-based signals.

  • Gauge emotional volatility around macro news events: During the March 2024 US Federal Open Market Committee update, Grok-powered setups flagged rising anxiety around BTC. Traders noted that crowd sentiment turned negative before the actual dip occurred, helping some adjust positioning earlier than usual.

  • Spot sentiment divergence, where engagement rises but price lags (or vice versa): In February 2024, community chatter around FET spiked, while the price remained flat. Some early traders used this mismatch as an entry cue, preceding a breakout two days later.

Unlike traditional keyword scanners, Grok applies deep sentiment parsing and real-time X integration, capturing nuance during high-impact events like Consumer Price Index (CPI) drops, exchange-traded fund (ETF) rumors or influencer U-turns.

Below is an example output from a custom sentiment parser built using Grok’s access to X, analyzing 12 posts about Bitcoin (BTC) in a six-hour window. The data set included posts from high-profile accounts like Whale Alert and Michael Saylor, as well as smaller influencers commenting on BTC leverage, short-term trading and macro comparisons. The goal was to measure the emotional and directional tone of real-time crypto sentiment during a volatile trading session.

X feed signal parsing

Thanks to its integration with X, Grok can detect momentum the moment certain content begins trending. Traders experimenting with Grok-like setups use it to:

  • Track token mentions gaining traction, such as sudden increases in usage of a specific ticker (e.g., “$FET” or “$TURBO”) across multiple verified or active accounts within a short window.

  • Monitor influencer activity tied to specific tokens, such as when a high-following account hints at a listing, partnership or price outlook, especially when combined with above-average engagement like repost surges or rapid reply chains.

For example, during a 24-hour window in February 2024, the number of posts mentioning “$ORDI” jumped to over 400 from under 50, led by influential traders discussing potential listings. Grok-style sentiment tools flagged this spike in narrative velocity well before price reflected the attention.

By analyzing these types of real-time social signals, Grok enables users to spot early momentum shifts across crypto communities. This allows traders to evaluate developing narratives while they’re still taking shape rather than reacting after they hit aggregator sites or news feeds.

Macro awareness for high-timeframe trades

Grok AI enables traders to track real-time sentiment around macroeconomic events like CPI releases, interest rate decisions and crypto regulations.

For example, following the December 2024 US Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, which showed an annual inflation rate of 2.9%, Bitcoin briefly crossed $98,500. This movement aligned with market expectations and was interpreted by some analysts as a bullish signal for risk assets, reflecting optimism about potential Federal Reserve rate cuts.

By parsing crowd-level data in real time, Grok often provides a clearer picture of market positioning than traditional headlines. This insight can help traders time capital rotations between BTC, stablecoins or altcoins more effectively, especially when market sentiment shifts rapidly post-macro events.

Grok vs. ChatGPT for crypto trading

Grok and ChatGPT are both AI tools being explored for crypto analysis, but they serve different functions. For traders, analysts or researchers looking to improve decision-making, understanding where each tool fits can help streamline different parts of the workflow.

Grok is integrated with X and is available to X Premium+ users. Its key strength is real-time sentiment parsing. It can track public posts, monitor trending discussions, and flag early signals based on community chatter. This makes it useful for identifying potential momentum shifts tied to market narratives, token mentions or macroeconomic events.

ChatGPT, on the other hand, is more effective for structured analysis. It doesn’t access live social feeds unless connected to APIs or plugins. However, it can explain trading strategies, summarize research and interpret technical indicators based on user inputs. This makes it suitable for backtesting concepts, understanding token mechanics or generating trade logic for bots.

Developers in AI trading communities often pair both tools — using Grok to identify emerging trends from real-time sentiment and ChatGPT to refine strategies, simulate scenarios, or build automation logic around those signals.

Data access: Real-time vs. processed knowledge

Grok has a major advantage when it comes to real-time information. Because it’s embedded directly into X, Grok can scan live posts, community reactions and trending content as it happens. That makes it incredibly useful for:

  • Capturing sudden sentiment shifts

  • Spotting viral token mentions before price moves

  • Reacting to breaking macro or regulatory news.

ChatGPT, on the other hand, doesn’t have live feed access unless you connect it to external tools (like a browser plugin or API). Its strength lies in structured analysis, explaining trading strategies, running conceptual backtests or summarizing white papers.

  • If you need fast input from the crypto crowd, Grok wins.

  • If you need structured insight or technical breakdowns, ChatGPT is your tool.

Sentiment vs. strategy

Grok is particularly effective at analyzing real-time social narratives across crypto communities. It’s ideal for:

  • Crypto sentiment from X

  • Identifying early crypto signals from trending posts and community chatter

  • Identifying memecoin rotations and community-driven pumps

  • Gauging macro reaction in real time.

ChatGPT is more effective for:

  • Writing or debugging trading bots

  • Explaining concepts like liquidation cascades or funding rates

  • Developing AI-powered crypto trading strategies.

For example, the AI4Crypto GitHub repo includes scripts integrating Grok sentiment with backtesting logic via ChatGPT. These experimental setups are becoming more common in open-source quant groups, while ChatGPT is used to draft trading logic or simulate responses. These paired setups are becoming more common in open-source quant groups and AI-based trading experiments.

Speed of deployment

Grok is designed to be reactive. It detects signals the moment they start trending. This has led developers in the crypto automation space to experiment with building auto-trading alerts that respond to Grok-identified sentiment spikes.

ChatGPT, by contrast, requires more setup. Unless integrated with real-time APIs, it works best with questions grounded in historical or static data.

That’s not a flaw — it’s intentional. Grok acts as a market listener; ChatGPT functions as a strategy explainer.

Risks, limitations and what Grok can’t do for crypto traders

As promising as Grok is, it’s important to understand its boundaries. Traders experimenting with AI often run into issues not because the tool is bad, but because they expect it to do everything.

Grok can enhance your workflow, but it’s not a plug-and-play magic signal generator.

No trade execution logic

Unlike a crypto bot connected to an exchange, Grok doesn’t execute trades or manage positions. It can alert you to rising sentiment or narrative shifts, but it won’t know whether your strategy is risk-on or risk-off.

Some traders are building Grok-connected scripts for trade alerts, but these setups still require manual review or pairing with third-party execution platforms.

Bottom line: Grok is a signal scout, not a full-stack trading engine.

No charting or technical indicator awareness

Grok 3 has introduced early-stage support for parsing some market data and basic chart patterns, but it still lacks full technical analysis (TA) capabilities. For precise TA, traders should still rely on tools like TradingView or dedicated bots. That’s a major difference from tools like ChatGPT, which can explain and simulate trading strategies using TA logic.

So, while Grok might tell you, “SHIBA is trending,” it won’t say, “This is a bullish flag on the 4H.” For that, you’ll still need TradingView, CoinGlass or a hybrid AI setup.

Susceptible to noise and manipulation

Because Grok pulls directly from X, it’s reading unfiltered public data, which can include misinformation, coordinated shilling or sentiment spoofing.

During memecoin cycles, it’s common for groups to artificially inflate mentions, hype or fake news. If Grok is used without filtering or human context, it might flag these as bullish signals when they’re just exit liquidity traps.

This is one of the biggest risks of trading with Grok AI: You’re relying on the crowd’s words, not the market’s confirmations.

Limited depth on altcoins

While Grok is strong at identifying trending topics, it struggles when sentiment data is thin. For smaller altcoins with low visibility or limited community discussion, Grok may return weak or irrelevant signals.

Traders using Grok for niche decentralized finance (DeFi) or microcap tokens may get better results by pairing it with crypto technical analysis software or onchain tools like Nansen.

No built-in risk management

Grok doesn’t know your portfolio size, stop-loss level or risk tolerance. It won’t warn you that you’re overexposed, chasing pumps or trading against a trend.

This is where most new traders overestimate AI. AI-powered crypto trading strategies still require a human layer of risk control. Grok might tell you what’s hot, but it’s your job to decide if it’s worth chasing.

This article does not contain investment advice or recommendations. Every investment and trading move involves risk, and readers should conduct their own research when making a decision.
