I’ve been on a mission to de-Google my life as much as possible in an attempt to control how much information a single company has about me. While there are some essential Google services I will never part with, switching my browser from Chrome has been a priority.

Which password manager do you use to save your Android passwords?

I prefer Brave, but I was tethered to Chrome

Megan Ellis / Android Authority

I have never regretted the switch to Brave. However, Chrome remained in my app rotation for one simple reason: I have hundreds of passwords saved in the Password Manager. While it’s possible to export passwords to another browser, Password Manager is also built into Android. This integration allows you to save passwords, generate secure password suggestions, and access login details across devices.

I’m glad I switched to Brave, but password management on Android kept me tethered to Chrome.

This also means that Password Manager has been essential for my Android phones. When an OEM doesn’t have its own version of a credential manager, Google’s Password Manager remains the default way to save and access app passwords. Even when an alternative manager was available, I used Google’s solution wherever possible to make my details easily accessible across phones from different manufacturers.

I could technically access the passwords by searching through my phone’s settings and finding my Google account preferences, but the process was different for each device and resulted in me visiting a variety of different menus before finding the right one. This is why I kept Chrome around. If I wanted to access my app passwords easily, I needed to open Chrome and access them there. But the standalone Password Manager app has changed that.

Google Password Manager app makes accessing Android passwords easier

Google Password Manager now exists as a standalone app that you can download from the Google Play Store. Not only does this make it easier to access the service on your home screen and through your app drawer, but it also makes accessing the service easier overall.

I was initially concerned that the app only functioned as a shortcut to the password manager within Chrome. I’ve since disabled Chrome on my smartphone to see whether this was the case. I was happy to discover that I can still access the password manager without needing Chrome. I was also able to sign up for a new app, generate a password through the Password Manager pop-up, and save the password to the service.

Google’s Password Manager app works even if you have Chrome disabled on your smartphone.

Likewise, I can still access the most important features of the service, including account credentials, the checkup tool, and autofill settings.

The only other reason I kept Chrome around was to easily access Google Search when I needed shopping links or better local results. I love Brave Search, but it doesn’t provide as many local results and local shop listings as I would like. However, I don’t need Chrome to access Google — I can just add a shortcut to the search engine in Brave.

With the introduction of the standalone Password Manager app, my last reason to keep Chrome around no longer applies. The anxiety I felt when considering completely leaving Chrome behind is gone.

However, there are drawbacks. Even though Google Password Manager is now a standalone app, this doesn’t mean it acts like other credential management apps. When I use Brave, the passwords I enter save to Brave’s built-in password manager, even when I’m using my phone. Google’s autofill feature also only works when I’m using an Android app that requires a login, or when I’m using Chrome.

So, when I want to log in to a site using Brave, I need to open Google’s app to copy over the credentials and paste them separately to the browser. Overall, though, I’m glad I no longer need to keep Chrome installed to do this.

I may eventually move to a different password manager

While Google Password Manager is the most convenient password manager to use across devices, it isn’t necessarily the most secure. There are plenty of great password managers to choose from, many of which offer free plans. Since I’ve also switched from Chrome as my default browser on my computer, I need a manager I can use across devices and browsers. A dedicated password manager app will also allow me to use the autofill feature regardless of which browser I’m using.

But to be honest, I find comfort in familiarity, so it will take time for me to truly make the jump. I’m eager to try out Proton Pass due to the company’s focus on privacy. The password manager also offers benefits like email aliases and an integrated two-factor authentication (2FA) feature. It will also let me import my passwords from multiple browsers and generate strong passwords for accounts.

However, before I make the switch to an alternative, I will need time to test it and see that it suits my needs. At the same time, I’m glad that Google’s new standalone app makes it possible for me to easily store Android credentials without needing to use Chrome to access them anymore.

I no longer feel stuck and bound to Chrome, which in turn has made it easier to envision more ways I can reduce my reliance on Google. I want to use a service because it offers the best features, not because I’m simply locked into the ecosystem.

“Nano-Banana” Revealed: Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Image Arrives https://earlybirdsinvest.com/nano-banana-revealed-googles-gemini-2-5-flash-image-arrives/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/nano-banana-revealed-googles-gemini-2-5-flash-image-arrives/#respond Thu, 28 Aug 2025 03:16:29 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/nano-banana-revealed-googles-gemini-2-5-flash-image-arrives/

Google has introduced a new image-focused model called Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, designed to produce and refine visuals through simple text commands.

The update was officially released on August 26 and is already live across all Gemini interfaces.

With this rollout, users can perform detailed edits, such as adjusting a person’s stance or combining different visuals, without altering key details like facial features or background elements.

Before its official reveal, the tool had surfaced on LMArena, a site where the public can test experimental artificial intelligence (AI) models. Known by that name under the alias “nano-banana”, the model gained attention for its smooth and reliable editing.

One of the standout features is its ability to keep a consistent appearance for a subject across multiple images. This can be useful in fields like advertising, where a product or character needs to appear the same in different scenes.

The model can also pull from multiple reference visuals and understand diagrams, which allows it to create accurate visuals based on a mix of sources.

To help prevent misuse, all images generated by the model carry an invisible SynthID signature, along with metadata that identifies them as AI-generated.

Gemini 2.5 Flash Image is available not only within Google’s platform but also through OpenRouter and fal.ai. It is also integrated into Google Cloud’s service offering, with a cost of $30 for every million output tokens, which translates to around $0.04 per image.

On August 13, Google rolled out an update to Gemini AI. What’s new in this version? Read the full story.

After surpassing Google’s market capitalization, Bitcoin’s price slipped to $118,000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/after-surpassing-googles-market-capitalization-bitcoins-price-slipped-to-118000/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/after-surpassing-googles-market-capitalization-bitcoins-price-slipped-to-118000/#respond Thu, 14 Aug 2025 21:08:34 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/after-surpassing-googles-market-capitalization-bitcoins-price-slipped-to-118000/

Bitcoin Price has been pulled back significantly to $118,000 as it will become the world’s fifth largest asset, temporarily exceeding the market capitalization of Google Parent Alphabet.

Bitcoin prices hit a record high of $124,283 in early Asian trading on Thursday, pushing the market capitalization to $2.46 trillion, temporarily overtaking the Alphabet’s $2.448 trillion valuation. However, a rapid revision followed the milestone as traders profited and US inflation data sparked wider market uncertainty.

Recent surges and subsequent fixes demonstrate the dynamics of Bitcoin’s mature market. Volatility remains a factor, but institutional participation produces a more robust level of price support.

Price movements come amid unprecedented institutional adoption, with US listed Bitcoin ETFs having recorded billions of dollars over the past few weeks. Adoptions from the Corporate Treasury are also accelerating, with over 200 companies adding Bitcoin to their reserves.

Norwegian sovereign wealth funds have gained indirect exposure to over 7,000 BTC through investments in Bitcoin-heavy companies, indicating an increased institutional comfort through their Bitcoin exposure.

There is a fundamental change in how traditional financial institutions view Bitcoin. Assets are increasingly being treated as holdings by the Strategic Treasury, rather than as speculative investments.

The market has received additional support from President Trump’s executive order, allowing 401(k) retirement accounts to invest in Bitcoin and crypto. Analysts hope that institutional demand will continue as approximately $12.5 trillion in retirement savings could be eligible for Bitcoin investment.

The broader Bitcoin and cryptocurrency markets reflect this optimism, with a total market capitalization of over $4 trillion.

Macroeconomic conditions continue to affect Bitcoin price actions. With US July inflation data still at 2.7%, forecasts for the Federal Reserve cuts in September are tightened, with the market exceeding 90% chance of a 25 basepoint cut.

Low interest rates typically benefit risky assets such as Bitcoin by reducing capital costs and increasing market liquidity. However, current gatherings appear to be more radically driven than previous cycles supported by true institutional adoption rather than pure speculation.

Bitcoin prices have been earning around 28% since the start of the year, consistent with gold’s performance and strengthening its position as a mainstream financial asset. Despite recent revisions, Bitcoin’s ability to exceed price levels of $118,000 suggests market maturity and deeper institutional integration.

As companies continue to accelerate adoption of Bitcoin and new investment vehicles emerge, market participants are hoping for better price stability, but short-term volatility is also being considered for traders and investors.

AI-Created Game Worlds? Google’s Genie 3 Makes It Happen https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ai-created-game-worlds-googles-genie-3-makes-it-happen/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ai-created-game-worlds-googles-genie-3-makes-it-happen/#respond Tue, 05 Aug 2025 22:53:26 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/ai-created-game-worlds-googles-genie-3-makes-it-happen/

Google DeepMind has introduced a new version of its artificial intelligence (AI) tool called Genie 3, which creates 3D digital spaces that can be explored in real time.

These environments respond to simple text prompts and allow both people and AI systems to move through them, similar to how video game worlds work.

This approach is based on a “world model”, a type of system designed to simulate environments for learning, entertainment, or training purposes. Unlike traditional video games, where artists build the world by hand, Genie 3 generates everything using AI.

According to Google, Genie 3 can support a few minutes of interaction with steady visuals. If something is placed in the environment, such as writing on a chalkboard or paint on a wall, it will remain visible for up to a minute, even when not being observed.

Scenes are displayed at 720p resolution and run at 24 frames per second, which makes the experience smoother.

Another new feature allows users to add things to the environment while it is running. By typing a new prompt, it is possible to change the weather or introduce new characters without starting over. These updates happen in real time, which helps the environment feel more responsive.

Despite the improvements, access to Genie 3 is still limited. It is being released as a research tool, not for general public use.

On July 30, Google tested AI in the US that estimates user age based on account activity like searches and YouTube views. How? Read the full story.

Google’s AI Mode Changes the Search Game in the UK https://earlybirdsinvest.com/googles-ai-mode-changes-the-search-game-in-the-uk/ https://earlybirdsinvest.com/googles-ai-mode-changes-the-search-game-in-the-uk/#respond Tue, 29 Jul 2025 20:55:46 +0000 https://earlybirdsinvest.com/googles-ai-mode-changes-the-search-game-in-the-uk/

Google has introduced a new feature in the United Kingdom that changes the way search results are shown, according to a July 28 press release.

Called “AI Mode”, the setting provides a single, written answer in a natural tone instead of the usual list of blue links. This response includes fewer direct links to websites and is meant to give a more complete summary based on the question asked.

This update does not replace the standard search format, which continues to handle billions of searches daily.

However, it has raised concerns among companies and publishers that rely on visitors coming through Google’s traditional search.

BBC reported that many businesses get traffic and income because their pages appear in the top results or because they have paid for ad space. With fewer visible links in artificial intelligence (AI) summaries, users may not click through to websites as often, which could hurt those who depend on that traffic.

Google has not decided yet how advertising will work in this new format. Hema Budaraju, who works on the search product team, said it is still too early to say whether businesses will be able to pay to appear in AI answers.

Additionally, Google said it created AI Mode in response to changing search habits. In the past, people might have searched for short phrases. Currently, users tend to type out full sentences.

On July 24, Elon Musk hinted on X that Vine, the short video app once owned by Twitter, might return with AI features. How did X users respond? Read the full story.

Google’s Gemini AI model predicts that several high-profile altcoins could experience strong price surges before the end of 2025, buoyed by Bitcoin’s explosive ascent.

Bitcoin recently made headlines by reaching an all-time high of $122,838 last week—a milestone many experts believe could spark accelerated mainstream crypto adoption, assuming the bullish trend holds.

This breakout has injected new enthusiasm across the crypto sector, fueling predictions that the next market upswing could eclipse the record-setting rally of 2021 and push leading altcoins into uncharted territory.

Here are the digital assets Gemini AI predicts could generate substantial returns by the holiday season.

XRP (Ripple): Gemini Predicts Price Multiplying 6x Before 2025 Ends

Gemini’s projections place Ripple’s leading blockchain coin XRP (XRP) at a potential $20 valuation by late 2025—representing a sixfold increase from its current price of about $3.22.

Gemini predicts XRP

The forecast follows XRP’s robust performance this year. The token reached a new record high of $3.65 on July 18, surpassing its previous 2018 peak of $3.40. XRP has gained 9% over the last two weeks and 47% over the last month, outpacing both Bitcoin and other altcoins listed in this report.

Growing investor confidence stems from evolving regulatory clarity, increased utility, and speculation surrounding the launch of an XRP-based spot ETF—all of which could attract significant investment flows.

XRP facilitates lightning-fast, cost-effective cross-border transactions without intermediaries. In 2024, the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) endorsed XRP as a frictionless blockchain solution for international remittances.

A pivotal legal victory came in 2023, when a U.S. court ruled that Ripple’s sales of XRP to retail buyers did not constitute securities transactions. The SEC formally ended its case by March 2025, eliminating one of the biggest hurdles facing the token.

With XRP currently trading 11.4% below its ATH, surpassing that benchmark could pave the way toward Gemini’s more conservative $5 to $15 year-end target, with upside potential for even higher gains.

Its RSI has dipped from 86 last Monday to 61 today, indicating a cooling period which may allow the asset to consolidate before another upward move.

In a scenario where regulatory conditions improve further—such as under a Trump-led administration—Gemini AI suggests XRP might even double its projected value, eclipsing previous records set during the 2021 bull run.

Over the past year, XRP has climbed 433%, outperforming Bitcoin’s 75% growth during the same period.

Shiba Inu (SHIB): Gemini Says SHIB Fans Could See a 35X Surge by Year’s End in Most Bullish Case Scenario

Shiba Inu (SHIB), introduced in August 2020, has become the second-largest meme coin behind Dogecoin, boasting a market capitalization of approximately $8.3 billion.

Gemini predicts Shiba Inu

Trading at around $0.00001408, SHIB has posted a 23% rise over the past month. Technically, the coin is nearing breakouts from two key chart formations: a descending wedge observed between November and March, and a bullish flag that appeared in mid-May.

Key resistance is located at $0.000022, but sustained momentum could drive SHIB toward Gemini’s more bullish prediction of $0.0001 to $0.0005 by December—an increase of 7x to 35x from current levels.

Contributing to this potential rally is SHIB’s aggressive token burn mechanism. This month, 1.3 billion SHIB tokens were burned in the space of seven days, reflecting a burn rate surge of 2,080%.

SHIB is also expanding beyond meme coin status. Built atop Ethereum, it now benefits from its Layer-2 solution, Shibarium, which enhances scalability, slashes gas fees, and improves dApp performance and user privacy—making SHIB an increasingly viable asset for broader DeFi usage.

Pepe ($PEPE): Gemini Predicts a 3x Climb for Meme Giant

Pepe ($PEPE), inspired by the legendary cartoon frog created by Matt Furie, has quickly become one of the top meme cryptocurrencies by market cap since its debut in April 2023. It now holds a valuation of more than $5.4 billion, outperforming all fellow non-dog-themed meme coin competitors.

Gemini predicts Pepe

Despite a flood of imitators, PEPE has maintained dominance thanks to vibrant community support and deep market liquidity. Elon Musk has subtly hinted at PEPE being among his preferred holdings alongside Dogecoin.

Currently priced near $0.0000129 and up 37.5% over the last month, PEPE has outpaced the daily 30-day returns of Bitcoin and Ethereum, though today it is slightly underperforming with a modest 0.4% dip in the last 24 hours as the rest of the $84 billion meme coin market rallied 3.2%.

Gemini AI believes PEPE could triple in value by year-end, reaching as high as $0.000035—high above its December 2024 all-time high of $0.00002803, from which it has since fallen by 54%.

Technicals show a descending wedge pattern formed between November and March—a setup that typically signals a steep trend reversal upwards in the near-term.

Should bullish momentum continue, PEPE could revisit prior highs and potentially rise to $0.00004 or even $0.00005 before the New Year, especially if a broader market rally unfolds.

TOKEN6900: Meme Coin Targeting Parabolic Gains of 1000x

While Gemini predicts solid returns from major altcoins, their sizable market caps may restrict explosive upside potential. Traders seeking exponential growth are turning to a new generation of meme tokens.

Leading the pack is TOKEN6900 (T6900), an ERC-20 meme project that entered presale just two weeks ago.

So far, the token has raised over $1.3 million during its presale phase—indicating high early demand and a potentially lucrative launch ahead.

Embracing satire and social virality, TOKEN6900 positions itself as a pure meme coin with no illusions of utility. Its website cheekily states: “It’s Not Built On Fundamentals. It’s Built On Delusion, Irony, And The Collective Hallucination Of Terminally Online Traders.”

It draws thematic inspiration from SPX6900—a meme token parodying inflated market valuations during speculative bubbles.

TOKEN6900’s total supply is set at 930,993,091 tokens, one more than SPX6900’s presale supply, continuing the trend of self-aware branding and ironic appeal.

Despite offering no direct utility, the project includes staking mechanisms that allow holders to earn passive rewards while betting on viral growth.

The presale price is currently $0.00675 over on the official website, with another price increase expected in less than 48 hours—giving early participants the opportunity to lock in lower entry points.

Keep up to date with the project by following its official X and Instagram accounts.

San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing, and Google is back with another fun experience for attendees. Last year, the company had a whole Ferris wheel setup, but this time around, the experience is much more immersive, thanks to a collaboration with Monopoly Go! and Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which hits theaters on July 25.

Visitors will be able to take their first steps into the Google Play Rewards Lab, with unique experiences related to each of the members of the Fantastic Four. However, Google also has some rewards for members who aren’t able to experience the Rewards Lab in person.

Taking your first steps

(Image credit: Derrek Lee / Android Central)

The Google Play Rewards Lab was all about letting you experience what it’s like to be a member of the Fantastic Four. You step onto a conveyor belt that leads you into each of the four pods with four very different experiences.

The first experience was inside the Stretch pod, after Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic. Here, you get to play a game where you try to catch Play Store rewards points utilizing touch pads to control Mister Fantastic’s stretched arms. The goal is to score a certain number of points within a given time.

The second pod is perhaps my favorite, and it’s the Force Field pod. Here, you can hone your inner Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman, who is able to create and manipulate force fields.

This pod won’t let you turn invisible, but it will let you manipulate a display of cascading lights with your hands. The lights change colors and move in response to your hands, allowing you to create a variety of figures and images.

The third pod is the Strength pod, which is probably my second favorite area. Here, you can have your own Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, moment and clobber the floor with your feet. You can team up with a few other people to stomp on the digital display on the floor from four different corners of the room, which will crumble beneath your feet to reveal a rather cool (and somewhat disorienting) display.

There are several levels to complete, which means smashing through a few surfaces. Once you smash through enough of the floor, you’ll be rewarded with a special honor for saving the day.

Finally, the last pod was the Fire pod for the fiery Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch. Here, you can “flame on” and become the Human Torch by shooting a video of yourself flying in the air. Your video will be inserted into a clip from the new film, which you can then preview and even send to yourself to share with your friends or on social media.

You can see my video below:

You can stop by the Rewards Lab outside the San Diego Convention Center starting July 24, and you’ll even get prioritized entry and other rewards if you’re a Google Play Points member.

Perks for everyone

If you’re unable to attend San Diego Comic-Con for the full experience, don’t worry, because Google is offering everyone a chance to get in on some rewards. Thanks to the collaboration with Monopoly Go!, players can grab a limited-edition Fantastic Four in-game rewards in the form of an exclusive The Thing Tea Emoji for U.S. players. This can be added to their showrooms, and users can also use it to react to other players.

Furthermore, Google is letting Play Points members redeem their points for other exclusives, such as a Fantastic Four Fan Pack, an enamel The Thing pin, a signed comic book, and even a Citizen watch.

Google’s Four Days of Fantastic Rewards is available from July 24 to 27, while the exclusive in-game Monopoly Go! reward will be available until August 4, which you can redeem over on the Play Store.

Google’s flagship AI platform, Gemini AI, predicts that multiple leading altcoins could extend their impressive gains into the second half of 2025, building on a period of notable market strength.

Bitcoin’s explosive rise to a record $111,814 on May 22 sparked renewed enthusiasm among crypto investors. Though currently trading near $106,659—just 4.5% shy of its peak—many believe Bitcoin is poised for another upward breakout.

This sustained optimism has led analysts to label this market phase as potentially more significant than the 2021 bull run, with some expecting historic altcoin performances ahead.

Drawing from technical trends, macroeconomic indicators, individual project updates, and evolving regulatory landscapes, Gemini has highlighted several cryptocurrencies with standout growth potential in the coming months.

XRP (Ripple): Is a 7X Rally in Sight for the Cross-Border Payment Giant?

Gemini’s AI-driven analysis predicts Ripple’s XRP could climb as high as $15 before the end of 2025—a more than 500% surge from its current value of $2.17 to around $15.

This bullish projection is underpinned by growing institutional interest, improved regulatory clarity, and speculation that an XRP spot ETF could soon be approved, potentially opening the door for wider adoption.

Globally, XRP continues to earn praise for its effectiveness in fast, low-cost, and regulation-friendly international transactions. The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in 2024 acknowledged XRP’s real-world utility for compliant financial transfers.

A landmark U.S. court ruling determined that XRP’s retail sales don’t qualify as securities, dealing a critical blow to the SEC’s claims. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced in March that the legal saga had officially ended, clearing a major hurdle for XRP and easing concerns across the altcoin space.

Resistance near the $3 level remains a short-term challenge, but breaking above it this summer could send XRP toward $5. Gemini’s most optimistic $15 price target would likely require broader market momentum and continued regulatory reforms in the U.S.

Pi Network ($PI): Gemini AI Predicts Mobile Mining Pioneer May 40X by New Year

Pi Network has pioneered a mobile-first approach to crypto mining via its unique “tap-to-earn” mechanism that eliminates the need for expensive rigs or technical know-how.

Currently changing hands at $0.55, Pi Network’s democratized approach to mining has Gemini predicting a potentially explosive run as high as $22 by New Year.

Instead of traditional mining, Pi lets users participate by simply opening the app once daily and tapping to earn—an intuitive approach that’s gaining traction among new entrants to the crypto market.

Since its February 2025 launch, the $PI token has seen rapid movement. In early May, the token jumped 171% in just four days—from $0.58 to $1.57—fueled by renewed attention from institutional players.

Currently, PI’s RSI sits at 43 and trending downward, suggesting a potential move into oversold territory. If the RSI hits 30, it may signal a strong accumulation opportunity and price rebound.

If momentum returns, $PI could break past the $3 mark this summer. Its user-friendly interface and scalable Layer-1 infrastructure position it as a serious contender for mass-market adoption in the coming wave. This lines it up nicely for a potential run up to $5.50 even without an industry bull run, suggesting that Gemini’s more conservative price projections for Pi are conceivable.

Bitcoin Cash ($BCH): Gemini AI Predicts a Return to $3,785 Amid Technical Breakout

Bitcoin Cash ($BCH)—born from the 2017 fork of Bitcoin over scaling debates—is seeing renewed investor interest. Gemini AI predicts the token could hit over $700 early 2026, and in a bull market, it might even retest its historic high watermark of $3,785.82, set way back in December 2017.

While Bitcoin ($BTC) moved toward becoming a store of value, BCH maintained its focus on being a usable, scalable payment system, aided by larger block sizes. However, that scalability came at the cost of decentralization, with mining becoming more hardware-intensive and institutionalized.

BCH has rallied 95.5% since April, rising from $251.54 to around $491.83. Technical analysts are closely watching its progress within a falling wedge—a formation often preceding an upside breakout.

If sentiment holds, BCH could test $600 resistance soon. Should it break past, then $700 is in reach by fall.

While far from its 2017 peak of $3,785.82, a revived focus on cross-border payments tokens, like XRP and Bitcoin Cash could see the latter back in the spotlight and possibly doubling again by year’s end.

Strong support sits near $420 in case of a sudden reversal, though resistance at $600 and broader economic challenges remain key obstacles.

New Trading Bot Raises Over $1 Million in Presale: Early Buying Opportunity

Traders looking to diversify away from major tokens may also be interested in checking out presale tokens, since these can often rally strongly when they list for the first time.

This is particularly the case if they’ve had big, popular sales, with one successful presale coin right now being Snorter (SNORT).

Running on Ethereum and Solana, Snorter has raised just over $1.2 million, which will run for the next few weeks.

Snorter has been able to raise this sum of money because of its interesting fundamentals, with the project preparing to launch an automated sniping bot.

As a sniping bot, Snorter will make early trades on behalf of its users, enabling them to buy up high-potential new tokens before the market arrives.

It will also enable copy trading of successful investors, atomic swaps (with MEV protection), limit orders, and protection against honeypots and rugpulls.

This makes it one of the most comprehensive trading bots in crypto, which helps to explain why investors are racing to SNORT’s presale.

You can join it by visiting the Snorter website and connecting a compatible wallet, such as Best Wallet.

It’s currently available at $0.0965, although this will rise multiple times before the sale ends.

Reading that Google is lowering the RAM requirements for Google TV sent shivers down my spine. I can already see the 1-star reviews flooding in for TVs that haven’t even launched yet: “horrendous performance,” “laggy interface,” “do not buy.”

Google hasn’t specified the new minimum, but with Android TV dropping its requirement to just 1GB, that’s likely the target for upcoming budget Google TVs as well. And that’s not good.

If there’s one thing smart TVs absolutely don’t need, it’s worse specs — especially less RAM. Many budget TVs and streaming sticks already struggle with performance, and RAM can be the difference between a smooth UI and a lag-fest. This isn’t a theoretical argument; I’ve lived it.

I’ve tried to love Google’s TV products, but the budget experience is so poor.

My first run-in with Google’s platform was 2020’s Chromecast with Google TV, seemingly a bargain at just $50. It shipped with just 8GB of storage (only 4.4GB usable), 2GB of RAM, and a modest Amlogic S905X3 chip. The UI was just smooth enough, but heavier apps like Kodi felt sluggish, and trying to breeze through multiple streaming services was a struggle. The experience was OK, but hardly brilliant, and the lack of storage had me itching to ditch it.

My second attempt was a budget-conscious upgrade to a TCL 4K QLED. No OLED splurge here — just something cheap and supposedly good enough for the odd comfort show. With a more spacious 12GB of storage, 2GB RAM, and a quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU like my old dongle, I figured it would at least match my Chromecast. Even better, it came with the old stripped-back Android TV interface, which I hoped would run more smoothly.

But then came the dreaded update. Seemingly overnight, my TV was transformed into a sluggish mess, rebranded with Google TV’s bloated UI, complete with choppy animations and intrusive ads — everything I’d hoped to avoid with the more basic interface. Worse, once smooth UI scrolling turned to stutters, apps hung on launch, and casting became a glitchy, delayed mess.

The shift was shocking — smooth(ish) one day, verging on unusable the next. And there’s no rollback. Sure, I paid little, but I still feel ripped off as I battle the now barely functional UI. Based on my experience, 2GB is the bare minimum for Google TV, but Google is lowering the requirements. No, thank you.

So no, I have zero faith that “low RAM” TVs will benefit anyone long-term. Especially as Google is intent on stuffing the platform with more ads and bloat that’ll only bog it down further. While putting smart TV capabilities in the palms of more consumers sounds good on paper, a subpar experience will have them reaching for other platforms when it’s time to upgrade.

RAM is just part of the picture, of course. UI lag and slow loading times are just as much a fault of the cheap CPUs that infest the budget TV sphere. But plentiful RAM ensures apps can live in memory between uses, making it faster to hop back and forth without horrendous load times and UI stalls. Just look at the beloved NVIDIA Shield TV: 2GB or 3GB of RAM (depending on the model) and a snappy Tegra X1 still make it one of the best performers in the space — that’s the level every Google TV should aspire to.

Poor performance will turn users off Google TV in the long run.

Not every TV needs to be a powerhouse, but there’s a minimum spec line that shouldn’t be crossed — and lowering RAM requirements pushes us well below it. Google’s move invites manufacturers to cut even more corners, and the result is predictable: sluggish, frustrating devices that leave a sour taste for the entire platform.

If Google wants to compete in the living room, it needs to enforce higher minimum standards, not lower them. Until then, be wary of smart TVs with bargain-bin specs. Or better yet, forget the built-in OS and invest in a solid Android TV box.
